  1. Thanks, I'm 6 day post op and I woke up this morning extremely weak, and I think its because I haven't ate anything really all week....I really wish I could read regular food now, but I'm on full liquids until the 27th....

not everyone does a pre-op...it depends on your starting weight...
  3. Wow congrats on your lost so far...I know you are upset about the situation with your legs, I'm sorry that happened to you, and I hope you get that resolved ASAP...
  4. Good job!!! you did great!!
  5. DOnt mess up your posture...I agree with the others, if you need to hold your stomach as you move around...I'm fortunate that my doc made his cuts above my waist line so I wear me PJs fine....just try not to wear anything fitting your waist...like yoga pants...
  6. I'm going to have to try this because nearly all of the protien shake powders I have taste aweful right now.... Maybe this can get me through my last week of full liquids..
  7. WWHHOOO HOOO Shout out to June 20th...my birthday!!! Yeah...beautiful day guys, you are going to do well!!! Wishing you a safe surgery and speedy recovery!!! YEAH June 20th ROCKS!!!!
  8. I'm having the same issues....also having motivation to eat...I just dont feel like doing it....I know I'm suppose to, but I don't everything tastes salty and nasty....ugh
  9. I'm achy....I feel better each day that passes...
  10. kiwi or prunes....those are natural...I'm having the opposite issue, and its beginning to upset me because I dont want to get dehydrated...
  11. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes...I had my surgery on Monday morning, I was released from the hospital on Wedensday... again thank you!
  12. I'm being sleeved too and I am proud of it as well....just because some people choose to not tell everyone about their WLS doesnt mean they are not proud that they took charge of their health... I am very proud of myself....
  13. As someone who has lost her mom (passed in 2004) she is and will always be with you, you are never alone....when you think of her, know that she is right there with you....she has the best seat now to watch you live a healthy and happy life! Wishing you a speedy recovery, and happiness on the "loser's bench" you will do well....
  14. This meetup has no affilation to a clinic, doctor's office or hospital....we are just a group of people who meetup to do different things in the city, right now we are in the process of planning a bowling meetup for next month and recipe swap either at the end of next month of early August
  15. I wouldn't recommend getting your hair relaxed for a good while after the surgery....I had a friend who did that after she had to have emergency histeretomy (yeah and she's 33) and she ended up with a blad spot in the top of her head....it because the chemicals in the relaxers are so strong, and your hair is already weak, it can only take so much....I finally talked her into going natural (like me ) The Biotin is good to take so your new hair grows in strong....but I dont think it will prevent your hair falling out, IMO...
  16. hair loss is going to happen....its just part of having surgery, and losing alot of weight really fast.....you can alot have hair lost from not taking your Vitamins and minerals like you should... As far as wigs, weaves and stuff....I got kinky twists back in May so I can get used to wearing them again (haven't had them in 3 years) and I plan to get them redone and wear kinky twists for this first year (if I have alot fall out I dont want to see it, Amber (my stylist) can see it, not me, LOL) As to what you want to wear it all depends on what you like and how much loss you have....when I got my lapband I had very little loss...so it really depends
  17. Oh, thanks...same to you
  18. well currently I'm taking a liquid Vitamin...I went to GNC and told the guy what I was seeking and he hooked me up with a really good liquid multi-vitamin....tastes like orange juice...I hope I still like it after Monday... I know some stores sell gummy Vitamins..you really have to read the label to make sure you are getting what you need....I have a friend who had RNY and she eats 2 flinstone chewables along with a Iron and calcium chews....
  19. you know if you dont eat enough calories your body assumes you are "starving" and you will not lose....you may need to eat more...
  20. hair loss has to do with going under for the procedure....any type of surgery you have there will be some hair loss....also hair loss can happen if you dont take your Vitamins like you should, you hair needs the nutrients from vitamins and minerals to grow.... Hair loss is part of the process, but if you do what you are suppose to do, you can keep it to a minimum.... You have to think about it like this...what's more important, gaining good health or losing a few strands of hair....
  21. There's a Houston area WLS active buddies group you can join on meetup.com.....check it out
  22. Good for you...I plan to hide my scale myself (still single) on Monday morning before I leave for surgery.....I plan to weigh myself on the 11th of every month...
  23. My family knows that I am having surgery...I've told 4 people at work (that's including my boss)...and my close friends (my friends who I know will support me in anything I decide to do) No plans to announce on Facebook, a select few already know because they are either family or close friends....but the others, well frankly its none of their business, I dont dig all in their stuff, they dont need to be in my stuff... Of course they will notice when you post updated pics of yourself and stuff, and if some asks, I will be honest....to some....others, well like I said, its none of their business...
  24. Ensure makes a new clear protien drink....I haven't tried it yet, but my aunt loves them (she's into Protein drinks now that I have to do them, so supportive) Also the Isopure is clear....
  25. will do, as soon as "The Test Kitchen" (that's what I call my kitchen, I'm a science teacher) opens back up I will be posting...Thank!
