  1. Excited...I'm getting my braids done on Saturday...and have my final pre-op appt on next Tuesday....
  2. I am keeping my procedure pretty hush hush as well....I've only told 4 people at work, my boss, and three close co-worker/friends, all sworn to not tell...I would avoid bring up the topic, and if someone ask what you are doing, tell them you are cutting your carbs and eatting right....smaller meals 5 to 6 times a day....all the truth, just not mentioning the surgery part... I agree with you having surgery is no ones business but yours
  3. I am paying 17700 for my revision from lapband to sleeve....it includes 1 year of follow-up care...he charges around 12000 for just the sleeve
  4. June 11th here....can't get here fast enough!
  5. The nectar protein drinks are good, you mix them with water and it almost tastes like kool-aid
  6. I understand the feeling...June 11 cant come fast enough for me...
  7. sending one up for you now... *positive thoughts* wishing you a speedy recovery!
  8. I like the nectar as well....it mixes with a spoon like kool-Aid...tastes somewhat like it too...
  9. Smoothie King sells them too...you have to go inside...
  10. You are going to do get....can't wait to be on the "losing side" with ya!! Don't forget to sip and walk!!
  11. ok...IJS....if you are overly concerned about how a man (who cares of race) feels about your body, you need to have more confidence in yourself, and maybe see someone if you need to....it really doesn't matter who says what to whom....in the end you have to feel good about you....this surgery is about health, not beauty....yeah once you lose the weight you will fit more of the standard "oh she looks so good, real good" comment most people say when someone loses alot a weight, but this is about health....any I think any man (any good man) will respect a woman who is taking care of herself, then wondering how big her butt is.... And if a person is really concerned about booty and bustiness, there are garments to help ya out....
  12. You should not do the same thing for the same reasons with the sleeve...if you eat and drink at the same time, you will not get the nutrients that you need to get from food....plus if you drink and dont wait the 10-30 min you should before eatting you will not get the sense of "fullness" that you should get...this is what I was told by my NUT at my session....
  13. The Nectars are good....they mix with water and tastes like fruit juice....and no protien after taste, well atleast not for me....I like them...
  14. just a quick question....are there health insurance plans that cover body lifts....and also if not how much do they usually run.....I have alot to lose, and hoping I will not need too much work, but I would like to start sacing my pennies early.... thanks!
  15. I've had experience with the surgical gas before with 2 previous procedures....walking is really the only way to get rid of surgical gas....I'm assuming the Gas-x is for an upset stomach maybe...I plan to buy some to have at home just incase....
  16. PEvette posted a topic in The Gals' Room
I was wondering if any of you stopped your birth control pills before having the procedure?? I've been debating it, my doctor never mentioned anything about it....I have m last pre-op appt on the 22nd and I'm thinking to ask him if I needed to stop them for a while....
  17. thank you for sharing....I am too praying that my surgeon can revise me in one procedure...
  18. oh wow! congrats...you've done really good!!
  19. no offense but, yeah, you want something tasty...but I'm not trying to have a stroke either.....ijs....
  20. Hey I was reading your response...is that alot of sodium??
  21. I've been hearing that the pre-op diet is rough....but I have to do it....just have to take it day by day.....use at as a time to reflect on what I have decided to do and look forward to the future!
  22. well you may lose the excess weight during your pre-op diet....I'm too having the same issue...I've gained 15 pounds since my Dr. loosen my band to help me get ready for revision... Just stick to the pre-op diet, that's what I plan to do in 1 week....but dont beat yourself up about it....it is good that you stopped smoking....
  23. My insurance denied RNY and Lapband back in 2005, so I self-paid for lapband....now 7 years later, after changing districts, my new school district has a exclusion for any WLS, so I have to self-pay for my revision...
  24. I've mixed chike with both water and then with soy milk once...I prefer it mixed with soy milk
  25. Let's know how everything goes....congrats!!
