Slice up 4 -6 cups of any kind of fruits into bite size pieces, I like apples, strawberries, seedless grapes and bananas. Pour into a large bowl. Add 1 cups chopped nuts ( optional). In another bowl mix together 1 container vanilla low fat yogurt, 1 container fruit flavored yogurt, 1-2 Tbls lemon juice, a Tbls or 2 of honey. Pour over diced fruit and gently mix together. Store in fridge. It's really good !

Something I read somewhere just the other day..............."Yes, he might DESIRE you, but does he VALUE you ? " It was some story about a girl who bragged about how popular she was with men (Take that anyway you want ) and wasnt real shy about it either. The other person was a bit choosier about men , and while she appreciated men wanting her, she made sure they valued her first and foremost. I think this story applies to your very married (and a daddy !) friend. Just sayin '.

Ive never had a card but always look for something that is band friendly, not smaller portions as anything I can eat the first time means leftovers for about 2-3 meals. Well worth the full price , I just separate the leftovers into individual containers when I get home and a lunch or dinner is done. If there is still leftovers, well, my dogs are happy !!

NSV's ??? Where do I start ? From the minute I wake up is the start of a NSV because no more sleep apnea ! Getting showered and nicely dressed is a pleasure , not a challenge because of my weight. Clothes look and fit waayyy better. All day, no more digestive issues, everything works normally. I enjoy talking to people because they are happy to talk to me, I think the self confidence comes through. I love my exercise classes ( swimming and Pilates ) because I can see and feel my body getting stronger and more toned. My pants are getting loose. Again. I can do everyday normal things wihout even thinking about it. Yep, EVERYDAY is a NSV for me !!!!

I cant and wont give you specific dating advice, (ive been with my husband a long time ) but I will say good for you for trying something new ! Dating or meeting people isnt easy, but to start somewhere, you have to have some things to talk about, so start getting involved with some hobbies etc. You'll have "something " to put on your profile and/or things to talk about should you meet someone. Good luck !!

I don't like yogurt either, I think it tastes like flavored cold cream, but I love Noosa yogurt ! A unique product, so good ! Only about 8 flavors, each one has a different amount of Protein, so google for more info. I personally love the coconut, my hubby likes the blueberry. Mmmmmmm. And while I dont eat it daily, I still get plenty of protein in almonds, lean meats, Beans , raw spinach, etc

We dont cook from any special cookbooks, instead we just cook healthy foods that are diabetic friendly, more or less. ( husband is diabetic) We eat alot of lean meats, fruit, salads, veggies etc. If we do have carbs its once a week potatoes or whole grain Pasta with homemade spaghetti sauce. He loves yogurt, eggs and veggies, I dont like them much. I prefer fresh fruit, nuts, a little cheese. ( and sweets, sigh....... my downfall.......)

pink dahlia got a reaction from Banded_Beauty in What was your weight pre op and what is it now?
A few weeks before surgery I was 225 lbs, day of surgery 220 lbs.. 4 weeks later I was at 210. Everyone is different but I averaged 1-1.5 a week. If I gained a bit I looked back at my food diary, everytime it was either too much sweets or occasionally salty foods and less exercise. Every time. For exercise, I walked and swam, later I ran for awhile. Now im at a comfortable 142 lbs, I do Pilates, golf ( 9 holes tonight !) swimming and walking, and try to eat reasonably healthy with a little daily treat thrown in. Just a little advice, a scale wont tell you as much as a pair of pants will, use your tightest pants as your guide instead of the scale. When the pants start loosening up you know you're on the right track ! Good luck !!

You might want to take your hubby to therapy too, because if his family has treated you like this for 5 long years, can you imagine what he had to grow up with !? Id hazard a guess that he's a victim of emotional abuse from very early childhood , and his sister too because of their mother !! (Abused herself ? I think so !) If he learned to ignore the abuse to survive, and just shuts down as a coping mechanism, you CAN'T make him defend you, because he never learned how !! This problem goes waaaaayyyyy beyond his capabilities, but a good family therapist could teach him the right and best ways to move forward, and how to support you and have a strong , healthy marriage with appropriate boundaries. The mom is probably a lost cause, the sister knows nothing different, so since its the only way she's ever seen a situation handled, she has no knowledge /insight into anything better . Get your surgery for yourself, but just as importantly, get some therapy for BOTH of you for a healthy lifestyle and marriage !! Good luck ! (Its amazing what you learn as a foster parent.............. )

Hey there, don't know if this will help, but before you eat the high carb / fat item, try eating your Protein and fruit/veggie portion FIRST. I find that if I eat those things first my stomach is fuller and I dont crave the junk as bad. I still fight and lose that battle alot, but I eat LESS of them , which makes my body and mind (and my pants) alot happier. I used to be a big bread /carb person, but I cut it down a little at a time. Now , I have potatoes or brown rice 1-2x a week, bread maybe once a month. Good luck !!

It calculates all the info from your food, calories , fat, Protein , etc. Google it for more info. I find it very helpful to keep track of whether im eating right and exercising. Good luck !

It does' nt have to be expensive, I buy 90% of my clothes Goodwill. I went from a size 18 to a 10, and im very picky about my clothes. I
always get nice compliments on my outfits. Remember, because women change sizes so often , there's lots to choose from. Also, women generaly take better care of their clothes , so they stay nice looking longer. They usually are'nt as "rough" on their clothes as men and kids.

Oh. My. God. I dont even know where to start ! Laughing, or crying at the hilariously sad stories !!!! Im sooooo sorry ! But I still cant stop laughing !! I dont have any horror stories of my own, but 20 some years ago out the Seattle Times newspaper put out a contest "Send in your worst dating story !", winner gets a prize ! Etc.....The winner ? A lady met a man through some dating group, they met for daytime coffee. He was much older, heavier etc than his picture, but seemed nice enough. He suggested after coffee to visit a nearby park, nice sunny day, ok ! Why not ? After they get settled on a park bench, he disappeared for a bit. When he came back, he was nude ! She noticed some others were too ! He had taken her to a clothing optional park !!! She kept trying to advert her eyes, finally made some excuse to leave, and made a hasty exit ! Eeeeekkkkk !!! You wonder WHY she won 1st prize !!!!! Im still laughing !!!

I was slim all my life, ate whatever I wanted, stayed around a slim 125 lbs. Then late 20's my metabolism started slowing down, got married at 29 weighing a still comfy 143. After having my son 18 months later my metabolism just died. ( He's 26 now). So I gained 100 lbs over the years, tried Weight Watchers, lost 12 whole lbs, Ive been almost 3 yrs banded, now Im at a very happy 160 !

I say cut them some slack. Not everybody is good at everything, some people are good at math, but have poor writing skills. Another may remember historical facts very well, but struggle with spelling, punctuation, etc. On this board, a persons poor writing skills might be pretty obvious, but what you're not seeing are that persons other skills, important things like kindness, a giving heart, good manners, positive attitude and willingness to help others. Just sayin '.
