  1. I had my first fill last week on Tuesday. I felt a little resriction but not much. I went back today to have the band tighten and I think it might be too tight. I am having a hard time even getting water down. I was drinking fine when I left the doctors office, about 30 mins. after I tried to have some soup and that didn't go down, I tried yogurt and that didn't go down. I decided to take a nap and let me body rest. I woke up thinking I can get something down and no such luck, not even water, I've been eatting ice chips. I'm a little worried, is this normal? Why can't I get anything down? Is it because I'm swollen or is it because my band is really too tight? I will give it a couple of days and hopefully I will be able to at least get some liquids in me. I'm still really new at any of this, any information you can give me would be a huge help.
  2. I have a huge problem. I for some strange reason, can't eat with out having something to drink. I have tryed it but for some reason it freaks me out. I always drink when I eat. Does anyone else have this problem? If so how do I get over it and learn to eat with out having something to drink? Any help would be wonderful. Thank you!
  3. Yes this happened to me too. I wear sports bras or tank tops with the built-in bra. It doesn't rub as much. I also kept a little circle bandaid on it till it didn't hurt any more. Hope this helps!
  4. I am 20 day post op and I was wondering what other people were eatting at the 20 day point. I can pretty much eat anything I want. I have stayed away from chicken, raw veggies, bread, and anything that would be really hard to digest. What were you eatting at this point? I am so over soup!!!!
  5. I am 20 days banded everything up till now has been perfect. I woke today with a pain in the area where my port is. It a sharp pinching pain. I have no idea what it is. Is it the stiches pulling? I hurts when I touch it. It's not the port itself because that doesn't hurt when I push on it, it's the incision. I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow so I can ask him. But I was wondering if this ever happened to anyone else? If so what did you do?
  6. Today is my 8th day post-op. I stuck to the clear/light liquids for 6 days. I met with my Doctor on Wednesday and he said I could start having yogurt and fuller Soups and I have stuck to that. I also bought fat free Jello pudding (only had one) Fat Free cool whip (only had about a table Soup full) I also bought hummus, and string chesse, (had a little of each) thinking I could eat them in a couple of days. Am I getting a too ahead of myself? Should I still be liquids only? or do you think I can have these things?? I've lost 15 pounds so far, I'm afraid if I eat these things I won't lose more weight. I know I can eat these things without any problem, but I guess my question is should I be eatting them? Has anyone else have this situtation?
  7. I have a gas bubble sitting under my left rib that is so painful I don't know what to do. Has this ever happened to anyone? I have tried everything and it just wont go away....OUCH!!! :help:
  8. I've totally got the Clear liquids down, does anyone have a list of what full liquids are so I can prepare myself? Also a list of mushy's would be awesome.... That way I have something to look forward to!!
  9. Okay so I have had nothing but broth, cyrstal light and Jello for the last 6 days and I am ready to lose it. I knew what I was getting myself into, this is no surprise, I guess I never thought it would be so hard. I just want to eat something, but I know that I can't, it's not even an option. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow so I'm going to ask him if I can start eatting yogurt or apple sauce, or at least protien shakes, I am so weak. I need some food I can live on. I know I'm just ranting, but does anyone have a tool for this problem? Some thing to think about, something to do, some thing to drink or put in my mouth when my stomach starts to rumble and I start to bug out? I know that in a couple days or a week or so I'll be laughing that I was such a wimp at day 6 but for right now my hunger pains are really and so are my mood swings.
  10. I am going back to work tomorrow and I don't know what to tell my co-works. I lied and said I was getting my apendix out. But they are going to start noticing that I'm not eatting lunch with them (we order out almost everyday) I won't be able to eat normally for a couple weeks. I am normally really honest with people but for some reason I want to keep this a very personal thing. I guess I don't want anyone judging me or making comments about things they really have no idea about.
  11. Does anyone know when I can shower? Yes, I know it's gross that it been so long. Can I take my bandages of and replace them or am I suppose to wait for the doctor to do that?
  12. He did my surgery, he's a very nice man, he did a great job but he is not too detailed as far as what to do after surgery. I was wondering if anyone else has an opinion.
  13. Hi Pamela, Congrats we're both on out way to a new life!! I actually took on extra day off (today) I'm going back to work tomorrow. Did you tell your co-workers? I lied and said I got my apendiex taken out. I hate to lie but I just didn't feel ready to tell anyone yet. When are you going back to the doctor for a check up? I never made an appointment.
  14. SoCal - Just banned 2/9/07.... I'm in West Hollywood!!!
  15. I was banned on Friday. I took a taxi to the surgical center and then had a car service pick me up and take me home. I stayed at the center till I felt well enough to walk and talk. I had everything ready for when I got home. It was really quite easy. I would always say if some one could help you out it would be better, but sometimes you have to go it alone! Make your doctor and nurses know of your plans before you do it. Good luck!!
