Banned 4 days ago

Does anyone know when I can shower? Yes, I know it's gross that it been so long. Can I take my bandages of and replace them or am I suppose to wait for the doctor to do that?

Leave Your Bandages On And Take A Shower But Let The Soap Wash Over Your Belly Down From Your Chest But Put The Soap Right On It. The Bandages Will Stay! Ive Taken 6 Showers Already And They Are Still On!

And what were you banned from, my friend??? Sorry, just teasing. I know you meant you were banded.

Hey, go hit the showers....it's been long enough!! Just no tub or soaking or scrubbing. Have you got actual bandages or just band-aids/strips? I'll bet if you peep under there, you are healing already and can change them to a fresh band-aid. (Protein supplements will help you heal much quicker).

I'm jealous....you only have 85 pounds to lose!! It'll be gone in no time!!

A few questions: Do you have stitches, staples, or steri-strips?

You should ask your doctor, and follow his (or her) advice, but...

I have steri-strips. They told me that I could take off the bandages after 24 hours and shower but not bathe, and not to rub them, and then pat them dry. And then to leave the bandages off as long as the incisions weren't oozing or weeping. If they were, to go ahead and put a clean bandage back on until it stops, but to leave it open to the air as much as possible.

Good luck!

I have stitches and my doctor told me to shower the next day, told me to take the bandages out and shower, wash with water and soap the area and then put some bandaids, no issues so far and they are healing very good. Hope it helps.

I showered the morning after surgery. I didn't have steristrips, I had staples covered with a super sticky clear "tape" type stuff, that was pretty much worn off by the time I went to have the staples removed 7 days later. While there they put on steristrips and said leave them for a week, but 3 days in they started falling off.
