  1. Good Tuesday Morn, Vi's~~ Ok... my weight today for the contest is... 244.6...ugh. I NEED THIS CONTEST!! It will help me stay accountable. & power me through the "won't"-power times!! My 1st major goal has always been 197... -120 from pre-op weight... then I was -- AM -- going to re-evaluate from there... so I don't know what you want to use as my goal number... whatever you decide is fine. Maybe to make it easier, we should just use % of current weight lost, like they do on Biggest Loser? Then "goal" wt doesn't come into play. So I'd start @244.6 and if I lost 2.5 lbs that'd be 1% lost... etc...??? Laura... I'm worried about you!!!
  2. Ha ha! Ya'll must've had a slow day today... so funny! We went & saw Horton Hears a Who & then to lunch... did not do liquids... duh... I am IN for tomorrow!! Will post my stats. Thanks for the idea, Terry... this will help w/my motivation!!! Smooches to all!!
  3. Good Morn, Vi's~~ Finished cleaning up from yesterday... already wavering on the liquids -- ack! I just feel like I need do a day or several or every-other or SOMEthing this week to "shock" myself back into proper bandster eating + jumpstart the weightloss. But then we're going to the movies later, etc., etc. (it's always something!) so I think... well, maybe I should wait 'til tomorrow when there's nothing "special" about the day... but me, I always find something "special" about EVERY day! LOL! I'm a mess.
  4. Phew! I'm pooped! But today was a lot of fun... family, good food, laughter... what it's all about (well, besides the chicken conspiracy, lol). We don't hide eggs anymore (yay) as the kids are too old for that... but we do play "Egg or No Egg" -- which is our made-up Easter version of "Deal or No Deal" where plastic eggs are stuffed w/slips of paper w/amounts from .10 to $20 and then you play it like DoND... it is sooooo funny & fun... a couple of them went down to either like .15 or $20 & ended up on the .15!! I played and won $20!! Yay me! It's a hoot for all ages... this is the 3rd year we've done it. We alternate the "banker" family each year. (The first year when I "invented" it I was not so smart & actually stuffed all the money in all the eggs!! Duh!!!) It really gets us all laughing. Everything's mostly cleaned up but I still have a bit for tomorrow... just call me "Scarlet"... lol! Haydee, your eggs were amazing!! Wowza! Laura, I hate bad neighbors! grrrrr. Pam, your dinner sounded fabu!! Ooh la la! (oh, & I knew who "Cyd" was, too!) Terry, I LOVE your art! What talent!! Judy, mmm... your menu sounds so tasty! Janie, hope you're all rested up now! Suzie & Tracy, I'm in on the liquids this week... altho my "evil" brain is already trying to get me to bump the start day to Tuesday... "because we've got so many yummy leftovers in the 'frig..." -- but I say "NO!" and I'll start tomorrow!! Jenn, Hang in there... we're all with you in violet spirit!! Time for bed. G'nite!
  5. Happy Easter, Vi's! We have about 20 folks coming here today... spent all day yesterday cleaning & organizing... hope to relax & enjoy today. My basket had a yankee candle, some Bath & Body Works items, and, I admit it, some of those mini-Cadbury eggs... yumm-o! Jenn... I'm doing the liquids with you tomorrow, too... all week, I hope! Peace of the Season to each of you!!

I'm in for the ghost walk! Too cool! + the Alamo + tubing + 'ritas!! This is MY weekend -- woo hoo!!
  7. Another busy day of this & that & driving all over the place... I think MONDAY will be the day I can actually just chill out... not 'til then... phew! I haven't been eating HORRIBLY, but over the past few days here & there I have popped in a Cadbury mini-egg or two (OMG these are probably my #1 fav candy), or a slice of pizza or, ok, 2 pieces of baklava last night (how come THAT went down fine but I had to PB hummus & spanikopita??)... you get the idea... so the scale has been inching up... up... up... I *WANT* to do just liquids today & tomorrow, relax on Sunday, then get super-duper serious w/eating AND exercising starting on MONDAY & really crack out these last 20 lbs!... I know I'm 100% serious about "Monday" (there's that everpresent dieter's refrain, huh?), but am dubious about today & tomorrow... I know I MEAN IT... but... have seriously lacked ability this week. bleh. And so it goes... Hope each of you has a great day!

  21. ooooh, I like that, Terry!
  22. Haydee... My .02 here... life is a JOURNEY... we will *never* be wherever "THERE" is where we are "perfect". You two are on that journey together NOW... marriage is the next step: a commitment that means you'll continue together on that journey wherever it leads. No one knows the future... or where we'll end up. It's all a leap of faith... stay or go? stay as we are or change? him or someone else? now or later? when? -- these are all impossible to answer! But you need to be true to who YOU are... how long are YOU willing to wait? and for what? Yes, you may need to start again... & again... heck, I might, too... who knows? Not making a decision = making a decision, y'know? The only constant is change. The only thing we know for sure is that time will pass, whether we're happy about it or not! Look at all of us... look how far we've each come in a year! Best wishes to you for clarity and peace!
  23. Great advice, Terri. I'd also throw in that I think I'd wait a little bit extra (maybe double the length of time they suggest?) after you're off the wacky meds before beginning to "try"... I'd want to be 110% certain nothing was still in my system that would harm my future child in any way. + I second the maturity/selfishness thing... and understanding that while the male gets the "option" of being a good father, it is ALL up to US (the mom) to be THE ONE who is there. Period. So you've got to be ready for that. My kids are #1 in my life. Raising them properly is my #1 job. Before I had them I could do what I "wanted" to do... & after they graduate I'll be able to explore myself & my interests again... but while they're mine I'm theirs and giving 100% to the job. Am cooking corned beef & cabbage for dinner tonight! It's in the crockpot w/carrots, potatoes, onions & a bottle of beer! MMM!! Still wet from the pool... will check back later!
  24. Top O' the Mornin' To Ya, Me Vi's~~ Ugh. Got on the scale. Really thought I did well this weekend. WRONG! Actually UP .2 lbs! WTF??? Can you say FLIPPIN' FRUSTRATED? Grrr. Off to aqua aerobics now... maybe that will shake something loose!
