  1. I'mmmmmmmmmm back! Other than the fact that my app't was for 1pm & the doc didn't arrive until 2:30pm... which was actually nice because they took me back & so I got to sit & read a book for all that time (The Last Days of Dogtown, by the woman who wrote The Red Tent, for those interested)... everything went fine. It was a bit weird standing there w/the needle poking out & the syringe in my pocket... but it was way cool to see my band "in action"! And my actual surgeon did the fill, which was nice to see him again, too. He was pleased w/my loss to date, but I told him that I really wanted to finish the loss & not putz around w/it any more. So... he said that the band looked great, no erosion, no slippage, &... ready for it? -- that it was full! :rolleyes2: ARGH! So he added .5 cc and I drank the stuff again and I could see it go into the pouch, & a bit kinda went up a bit... then slowly seep down... so he didn't want to make it too tight so there we are. I guess I'll see, huh? He said that if/when I lose another chunk, to go back & we'll adjust again, but that it should be good. So we'll see... Gotta dash again & take dd to play rehearsal! BBL!
  2. Off for my fill! :frown:
  3. Aaaah Judy, that trip sounds just heavenly! And you & Bob deserve it after toughing out your Alpena Winter! I am looking forward to living vicariously through you!! Again!! :frown:
  4. Good Monday Morn, Vi's~~ Today is the day!! I'm anxious and eager at the same time! You know I'll report back as soon as I can. I was mad this a.m. cuz the ding-danged scale was UP! WTH? I walked AND ate exceedingly little yesterday... 2 pro shakes and a loaded (bunless) boca burger... and that's the reward I get? So this fill had BETTER work!! This white-knuckling it is not going to work long-term! Pammy... dontcha know that I already kayaked air fares out to PS for your soiree!! You never know who might pop up at your party! (Which when I wrote that made me think: "Are you un-poopular? Do you pop out at parties?" LOL!!) Make it a great day everyone & I'll check back after the deed is done!!
  5. Wow -- where was everyone today? Out having fun, I hope! Phew -- got the bedroom done... well, the part I un-did this morning, anyway... will work on the other half as time allows... ha ha ha ha ha... that's a funny thought... I walked @ the park w/2 friends who walk WAY faster than me -- in fact, 1 jogged! -- & I got all sweaty, but it was all good. Eating was right on today, too. :crying: I'm thinking about taking a lounging bubble bath this eve... haven't done that in AGES... Sweet dreams, everyone! See you all tomorrow!
  6. Found it! All the way back on page 43 or thereabouts! TracyKS's rant about my fill doc. Yay! I copied it and put it into a Word doc and named the doc "TracyKS's fill rant"... tee hee... now I can refer to it whenever I need it... I think I'll print it out & take it w/me tomorrow as my good luck charm!! If you're out there lurking, TracyKS -- THANK YOU!!
  7. Phew! It is NASTY under our bed! It's also like an archeological dig!! The next time someone can't find something, the first place I'll suggest is "under my bed!" Yes, Suzie, sadly, our bedroom is the least well-kept room in our house too... & the one that everything gets junked into! The rest of my house is lovely -- really!! I did as much as I could, but I can't move the bed w/out breaking either it or me, so I'm going to wait 'til ds comes home & he can help me. Then that will be it for today... I'll have to keep doing section by section for an hour or so at a time 'til it's done... but at least the parts near our heads will be done! Oh my. Talk about airing my dirty laundry in public!! TracyK... my doc always does fills in his office, "blind", I guess you'd say... he just sticks in the needle & voila. They only do the flouro-fills @ the hospital if there's a problem or they want to check something... with me, it's because they say I'm maxed out on fill, but I say I need more restriction, & we've been going back & forth about it for at least 6 months. So I'm nervous because going to the hospital makes it seem more "serious", + I won't know the person doing it, + I HATE NEEDLES and the thought of standing there w/it sticking out of me gives me the heebie jeebies!! I'm sure it'll be fine, tho. Speaking of which... I need to go back and find TracyKS's old post after the last time I tried to get filled & they wouldn't & she was telling me how much these babies can hold -- I want to be armed w/knowledge!! And for those of you looking for motivation... look inward, is all I can say. I was miserable w/myself, feeling like crap (remember all my hip & back pain?), feeling like a failure... and I don't know, I just didn't want to be that way so I decided to take it one day / meal / choice at a time PLUS exercise a bit... and now I feel SO much better mentally and physically. And yes, I ate out this week @ Chinese (but I planned ahead & ate SO much less than I would've usually) and I had a bit of pizza... but in proper bandster amounts. And I'm down almost 8 lbs this month. Every day it gets easier to make the proper choices... every day it feels better... every day I feel mentally better. All I can say is you just have to DO IT... & we've all proven that we CAN do it... it's really just a choice. I want to stop having my weight and food define me & consume my thoughts & time... I want to get to that place called "normal"... won't you join me???
  8. Yeah, I always think of Kat being in a little western town in the middle of nowhere!! But my town is smaller than hers... we have just 917 folks in my town!
  9. Good Morning, My Vi's~~ OMG Kat, I can feel your anger pulse through your post! & w/good reason! Yes, he should definitely pay for the chems & the service call, too!! Wowza! This a.m. I'm deep-cleaning our bedroom (long story here, but dh has been having severe asthma issues ever since last weekend when he came home from his bro's house (they have a dog & dogs are the worst for dh)... esp. @ night... but because dh is SUCH a man he never thinks to help himself... he just bitches & moans & groans & sighs all over the flippin' place... so while everyone is gone this a.m. (dd is @ church w/a friend & the guys are at soccer), I am going to super-duper deep clean our bed / nightstands / and even move this ginormous pencil post solid maple bed & clean UNDER it, esp. near the wall where our head are... all in hopes that maybe the getting the dust & gunk out of there will help him sleep easier. Has this even occurred to HIM? No. Where is that roll-eyes smilie when I need him?? Cuz' that sums up how I feel about dh's waah waah w/out DOING anything about it!) Wow, guess I needed to vent there, huh? After that, I'll be at 2 different soccer games from 1:30p - 5:30p... lucky me! Good thing it's going to be gorgeous here today, so I am going to walk all around the park during the first soccer thing... yay! Tomorrow is the big flouro-fill day!! I am excited & nervous at the same time... I've never had one... any of you? Didn't you just have one, Janie? You said something about having to stand up w/the needle sticking out of you?? Ai yai yai!! Make it a good one, dearies!
  10. Why thank you kindly, dear friend! Here's my horoscope for today... but I think it's applicable to ALL of us EVERY day: Do you have a goal that's intimidating you? Forcing you to procrastinate and procrastinate? Well, today, you need to either start on it or give it up. You have learned to be flexible and go back and forth on various projects, but you can't go back and forth on this one. If you are too afraid to get started, then you shouldn't even bother tackling a tough project. But if you want something badly, you need to find the resolve deep in your heart to get it. You can do this!
  11. For anyone interested... bariatriceating.com has free shipping 'til midnight tonight (not on ready-to-drink or liquids (like davinci syrups) tho). I'm stocking up on yummy cinnamon cappucino pro powder & trying the Big Train iced caramel coffee powder + pom razz powder (I'm thinking this one would be tasty w/a shot of vodka thrown in for good measure!!). I'm getting ready for that fill on Monday + ready to ROCK this weight loss thing again!!! If I have yummy alternatives, then I will use them & lose!
  12. Wow! Those are AMAZING matches, Pam!! Are they on tv?? Have a great time!!!
  13. Good Morning, Girlies... Have already been up & out this a.m., taking dd to the barn... she lives for Saturdays, when she can be at the barn all day... oh to be a kid again! Am home for a bit & then it's more errands... ds haircut + soccer ref meeting... it never ends! Make it a good one!
  14. You know you all are taunting me w/it but I am *not* going to do it, nope, I'm not googling. Maybe I should've been the preacher's wife!
  15. Yippee!! I just got off the phone w/the flouro-fill scheduler and I'm scheduled for THIS MONDAY @ 1pm!! YAY YAY YAY!! I can't wait to get a tweak and get my band back to helping me out... what a relief! I've been "good" this week, but it's been TOO MUCH like my dieting days of yore. I checked on fitday and I weigh the same today as I did last June!! WTF? Altho I'm glad that I've basically maintained the 75 (+/-) that I lost, I REALLY want to FINISH THE JOB! My goal is to be in the 100s (199 will do!) for our trip in June!! Really, I feel SUCH a flood of relief you have no idea.
  16. Ugh. Ever have one of those days when you'll do every little thing OTHER than the thing that you need to do? That's me, today! I've cleaned out my in-box, organize box tops for school, done laundry, made tea, updated Quicken, written a postcard, changed a picture in a frame, and many other little tidbits to avoid sitting down & getting into my honkin' editing job. Bleh. Now I think I've run out of little things, which means there's only one thing left: WORK! Wish me luck!! How are you all doing today? Quiet in here. Echo-y. (Echo-y... Echo-y...)
  17. 14 degrees? :tongue_smilie: Didn't Alpena get the memo about Spring arriving today??
  18. I'm not googling it... I don't need to know... :tongue_smilie:
  19. Spring Has Sprung Today! @ 7:44am eastern time! Good morn, girlies... A regular day on tap here... work / home / chauffeuring... + proper eating AND exercising... my muscles are sore today, arms and calves especially... that means they're toning, right?? RIGHT?? Yay Pam for turning in your diss! One step closer!! Laura, have a great trip... I'm sorry you're in such pain! As for the rest... no comment! Make it a great day, everyone!
  20. I'm curious, too, Judy! Do tell once you get the 411! Laura... that description was too funny! I laughed out loud & ds wanted to know what was so funny! I told him it was a girl thing. But the visual (& audio!) is a hoot!
  21. Yeah, just plain canned artichoke hearts are n-a-s-t-y... but the ones that are marinated are wonderful... I put them into pasta salads or even just on regular salads to give them a "greek" flair. I'm not a big fish eater, but yeah, I bet it'd be good on fish. I just got back from doing the weight circuit @ the Y... my arms are all wibbily wobbily now. I am proud of myself for doing well w/eating & exercising this week... why can't I be this self-possessed ALL the time?... Why can't THIS be my norm and the eating badly/not exercising be the exception?? Well... maybe someday it will be! Our family has a "date" tonight to go out for Chinese food w/our friends (the ones w/the dd in the treatment center in UT -- she's home this week for a visit & wants to see us)... so I keep telling myself that I can order hot & sour soup & tea & that's it! If I want anything else, I'll just nibble a few bites of chicken & veggies off someone else's plate! That's my plan!! Make it a great night, Vi's!
  22. Lunch time!! Yum yum yum!! I just made a single-serving of Terri's chicken/artichoke/parm recipe using rotisserie chix and it is AMAZING!!! I could eat this all day, every day!! Num num num!! Thanks for posting it, Terri!!
  23. TracyK -- Yes, that is the right attitude... keep on making the right choices because they are right and you know it'll have to show sooner or later!! AND... at least for me... I just feel better mentally/emotionally/physically when I am "on track" than when I am not... and that, my friend, is what it is all about! -- feeling better... or best! KUTGW!
  24. Good Morn, My Vi's~~ Hitting the ground running w/a meeting @ 9am... gotta dash but am thinking of you all! Terri... I am wearing my beautiful Violets necklace that you made for me... signalling MY official start of Spring! Make it a great day, everyone!
  25. WOOT! Suzie... That sounds like a HOOT! I don't think I could do that boot camp... way to go! Judy... I'm sure she'll be ok... she's got YOU! & you'll help her help herself as needed... it's a tough time... people TELL you it's a big adjustment, but you just can't grasp it 'til you're in it... + then you're sleep deprived... oh yes... I remember when... G'nite ladies!
