  1. I'm being banded tomorrow by Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. I know the post op diet is going to be tough but I'll get through it. Congratulations on your new lifestyle change! You will be feeling so much better soon enough. Good luck.
  2. I'm getting banded tomorrow by Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana Mexico. He is highly qualified and has performed over 4000 lap band surgeries. He also wrote a book called Lap Band For Life. I am self pay so I had to research some less expensive options. He charges $8,500 total. You can get more info by going to his website www.obesitycontrolcenter.com . There is another lap band forum at www.lapbandforum.com that a lot of his patients use. They ony have really positive things to say about this clinic. Anyway, this is an option if you are self pay. Some people will think it is crazy to go to Mexico for surgery but you just need to do the research yourself. I am totally confident with my decision to use Dr. Ortiz.
  3. In my previous email, I gave you the wrong website for Dr. Ortiz. I have it saved as a favorite as Dr. Ortiz but the actual website is www.obesitycontrolcenter.com Check it out!!
  4. I am getting banded by Dr. Ortiz at Obesity Control Clinic in Tijauna Mexico tomorrow. He charges $8,500 and he is one of the best doctors in the world who perform this surgery. He has performed over 4000 lapband surgeries and he wrote a book called Lap Band For Life. Go to his website www.drortiz.com and check it out. He trains some of the doctors in the U.S. on this procedure. I know it sounds scary to go to Mexico for surgery but that is only a perception of Americans. We think the U.S. is the best for surgery and that our doctors are more qualified than others. However, there are many doctors here in the U.S. that were trained overseas. Check out www.lapbandforum.com for Dr. Ortiz patients. They have a lot of good info and I researched this for several months before making a decision. You will read how please everyone is with Dr. Ortiz and his staff. You just need to check it out for yourself. I haven't told very many people that I am going to Mexico for this because I know the reaction I will get. My husband is very supportive but I'm not telling my teenage children. They would freak out about me have any type of surgery!!! Just research your options and go to www.lapbandforum.com and read the entries. It will suprise you as to how positive everyone's experience was at the Obesity Control Center in TJ, Mexico. Good luck!!!
  5. Thanks for all your support everyone!! This is a huge lifestyle change so support is crucial for success. I hope that GAS doesn't give me too many problems but I've heard a lot of people say that it is definately a pain is the %$#@.:faint: Three days and counting :clap2:
  6. I am feeling the same way about food. It's crazy that they want you to loose weight before the surgery. I understand why but dang... I just can't seem to get focused this week. I am ready for my liquid diet AFTER the surgery but not before. My date is on Friday and I haven't lost any weight. I hope I'm not in too much trouble. I am going to try really hard to stick to liquids for the next couple of days and maybe I will drop 5 pounds. Keeping my fingers crossed!:think
  7. Do you know how to add a ticker? I created one but can't figure out how to cut and past. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  8. Cely, The side effects you are experiencing are because you are eating too fast and not chewing your food enough. You have to take really small bites and chew, chew chew. The burping up food is called pbing (productive burping). This normally happens when you are eating to fast. Slow down and you should be fine. Remember to chew each bite 20 to 30 times. I'm not a doctor so this is not professional advise but I have read about this previosly. Good luck to you!!!
  9. I am being banded on Feb 9th by Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. I have read that he is one of the best in this industry. He has a book out called Lap Band For Life. I am 37 year old mother of three. I am 5'4' and weight 265. This is getting ridiculous!!! I am really excited and a little bit nervous. I have tried to loose weight so many times and always fail. It is almost sureal to think that I have an opportunity to shed this weight once and for all!! It almost too hard to believe. I've bought my broth and Jello for the post op diet. I haven't been doing so well on the pre op diet. I hope I don't get into much trouble over it. It's been really hard to diet knowing that you will be giving up so much after the surgery. It's all a mind game. Three days away from surgery date!! Wish me luck. More later.
  10. I'm getting banded on Feb 9th and I really am exited. Good luck to you all!!:clap2:
