  1. My insurance won't cover any skin removal so I am self pay. I could have gone to the first plastic surgeon I had a consult with in Beverly Hills and have saved a couple thousand, but my local doctor had better results. I saw his before and after scars and they were magnificent! So I am shelling out $17000 for the tummy tuck and boob lift with implants. Thankfully I have been saving for a while so I will be paying cash! Yeah! I thought about going to Mexico for plastics, but I feel more comfortable being closer to home, and closer to the surgeon for follow up care. Can't wait! Totally in count down mode! 12 more days till tt!
  2. I notice it a lot, especially when I go out to the clubs. It feels good to draw some attention, but some of it is unwanted. I can't go out without a good friend that is there to help me ward off the guys that are stupid and think it is ok to pursue after being told no. I am not very good at being mean to them as I am just not used to this kind of attention. Some guys don't understand that sometimes a girl is out with the girls not to hook up with a man, but to just dance and have fun with the girls. So yes, I notice a big difference, no it doesn't offend me that the same people hitting on me wouldn't have looked twice at me before... Sometimes I am flattered, if they aren't totally harassing me. I did have a guy grab me once when I was walking away from my girlfriends to go to the bathroom. He pulled me into him, grabbed my butt and started grinding on me. It totally freaked me out, and made me realize that I need to be one of those girlie girls who only goes to the bathroom with another girl from now on! Lol!
  3. Yay! For you! I am right ahead of you for plastics. Having my tt on 9/10 and breast lift/augment on 10/22! I will be posting before and after soon! I didn't lose quite as much as you, but I am feeling good with the size I made it to....now can't wait to get these next two surgeries, and be done with this journey! Congrats to you!
  4. Keep up the hard work. You look like you lost a lot!
  5. Ok...so if you can point your toes straight out, and then flex your toes torward your knees while flexing the muscles in your legs and there isn't a really sharp pain then it isn't a clot. If you do this and there is a sharp pain....then you should go to the ER. At any rate no matter what do not massage the area whatsoever. You should go in to see your doctor in the morning no matter what. Good luck!
  6. I'm so glad the mag citrate helped! Like I said before I have had patients die from impaction....what's worse is that it seems like they were having a heart attack. I work with the criminally insane, so they aren't very good at reporting bm's. when they are on Thorazine we have to keep charts of their bm's...literally have to ask them 3 times a day if they had one, and for some we make them come and get us to look at their poop in the toilet! It's a $hitty job, but someone's gotta do it....lol
  7. This is very dangerous ****! Something that is life threatening. I have had patients die from impaction. Have you tried mad citrate? That is something that I have given patients that have been impacted. You must drink it with 8 ounces of water as well, which my take a while with the sleeve....but you have to get that much water in to help. Please make sure to take care of this...it is very dangerous!
  8. I am almost 37 and my belly didn't fair well after losing all the weight, but I had stretch marks from having babies. If you don't have any stretch marks then your skin should bounce back after time. I am having a tummy tuck in three weeks to finish out my journey....I will still have some stretch marks left over because I have them above my belly button, but no matter what my loose belly still looks better then my fat belly ever did. Lol Good luck!
  9. You are close to what my stats were. I am 5'9" and I weighed 315 before surgery. I am now 170 and love the size I am now. My boobs weren't quite as big as yours are...they were double d's but were not perky at all. My girls have gone down a little, but not to much, however I am having a lift with implants in October. I am also having a tummy tuck in September, but that is really from having kids. I never listened to the doc on how much he thought I could lose. I have lost 40 more pounds then he expected me to. I plan on trying to lose a little more after my surgeries, but if I don't I am not worried about it. Overall I am thrilled with my sleeve and the results that I have had. Good luck to you!
  10. I know I needed all of the encouragement and information I could find in the beginning and I am happy to be someone that can provide that now.
  11. For some reason I am unable to attach my before and afters...but there are some in my gallery, if anyone wants to see.
  12. My two year surgiversery came and went and I didn't even realize it! food no longer controls my life! I don't constantly think, dream or live for food! I have reached my goal, and I love it! I will be completing my journey next month by having two plastics surgeries. First I will be having a tummy tuck to remove my apron that started by having my beautiful children, and was made worse by becoming morbidly obese. The second will be a breast lift with implants to get the girls back. My only regret still remains that I did not get the sleeve sooner. This is a gift...the best one I could have ever done for myself and my family. I am healthier, happier....and stronger because of my sleeve! I will be posting more befores and afters once my surgeries are complete. Good luck to all that are planning, or contemplating this surgery. I have lost more then 140 pounds...and I will NEVER go back to that girl again....thanks to my sleeve!
  13. I didn't have staples with this surgery, however I did for my tuba ligation and they were in my belly button...kind of tickled...didn't hurt at all. Good luck!
  14. Yes this is normal. It is the internal stiches. You can trim them down with a pair of sterile nail clippers, or wait to see the doc and have him do it. I am so sorry you had to have staples and stiches on the outside! All I had was steri strips!
  15. You look like you stepped into a time machine and erased years! Looking fantastic! Keep up the good work!
  16. Yes. I am two years out and enjoy food and feel hunger. Still have the restriction to help me avoid overeating, but I do enjoy my old favorites.
  17. Sometimes people just get lucky. I am happy that recovery is going so well for you.
  18. I lost more then what the doctors told me I was going to lose. It all depends on what you are willing to put in. I know that I am healthier, happier and weigh a lot less then I ever expected to before. Good luck!
  19. I am 5'9" and I flew at 315... I didn't need one at that size.
  20. It's a stall. You will be fine. Just be patient. I know easier said then done, but stressing over it won't help either.
  21. I exercised a lot in the beginning to get to goal. I did kickboxing, hiking, running, the wii fit, and weight training. I have never counted calories. I have counted carbs in the past, but now I just make sure to eat my Protein first and I don't worry about the rest. I am still active with hiking, and swimming but as far as maintaining I haven't had to do anything. My 2 year surgiversery is coming up on the 16th of this month and I have been my current weight since October. My original goal weight was 150 because that is right in between a healthy bmi for my height, however after getting to 170 I liked the way I looked. I am in a smaller size now at 170 then I was 18 years ago at 150. As for compliments....I took my 18 year old daughter to a comedy club last night and was called a milf by 3 of the comedians! Haha! My daughter was embarrassed but I was loving it!
  22. I have only received compliments on my transformation. I am by no means skinny...more like normal. I haven't had to work hard at maintaining my current weight. I have been the same weight plus or minus about 5 pounds depending on the time of the month. I did lose a little hair, which I cut, and styled differently so no one noticed. My skin looks and feels healthy, no graying. I do have a tummy tuck scheduled next month, and a breast lift with implants the month after that because my tummy looks like it was clawed by Freddie Kruger, and the girls look like they were popped. I just couldn't be more satisfied with this surgery. I can eat like a normal person where food isn't my constant thought. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
