  1. Absolutely stunning! You are a very beautiful woman. I bet you are constantly having to turn down men hitting on you...hehe Great job!
  2. Yup...throw that scale far far away! You just got sleeved....shouldn't be weighing in already anyways. As for the Tom gain, happens to me as well. You know that it does, so this shouldn't bother you at all! During my losing phase I would look forward to my Tom, because although I would gain about 4-6 pounds right before it....as soon as it was over I would start dropping pounds like crazy for the next week and a half. My biggest loss after my Tom was 12 pounds in one week!! And that is not including the water weight btw. Stop fretting...lol good luck
  3. I don't know about everyone else but as for me personally, I did not have this surgery so that I could spend the rest of my life on a diet. I will eat all the protein on my plate first...but then if there is still room...or desire I will have some carbs. I eat fruit, and sometimes even a potato or even rice and pasta. I eat all of those in moderation, and when I really feel I need it. I avoid the sweets for the most part...but if I am at a party and there is cake...well I'm gonna have some cake...mind you it is about 5% of a slice that I used to eat, but I sure as heck savor it and enjoy! I feel that if you say to yourself 'I can't have that anymore.' Then you sit there wanting it even more....and in the process you will sabotage yourself. I am almost two years out. I have been at goal for a while, and maintaining really well. The most important part is that while I enjoy food, I don't obsess over it anymore. Go and enjoy a few carbs every once in a while! Good luck!
  4. Yes there are risks with all surgeries. There are going to be a ton of people that have something occur....however there are also a ton more people that don't have any. I guess you got to ask yourself.... Are the benefits of the surgery able to outweigh the risks? I had my surgery...complication free, and was out of the house and playing at the park with my kids after four days. I still had regrets in the months to come while I had to adjust to my new way of life....a strong case of buyers remorse. However I am now closing in on two years later and I can say without a doubt this surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my self and my family! I would do it all over again..and again and again if I had to! I am the happiest I have ever been in my adult life. Good luck! I hope you have a safe trip...and a fast recovery!
  5. Vodka, whiskey, tequila....all of these have no carbs. Have them with some low sugar juice...or some flat diet soda. I would stay away from drinking them straight because it can be hard on your sleeve, as well as they will hit you a lot harder now then before surgery. I know the doctors usually say to stay away from them as they can slow down the weight loss, but if you do it occasionally it shouldn't hurt. Just be careful of the possible cross over addiction. It is easy for wls patients to become addicted to other substances after surgery. I know that I drink about once a week...and it hasn't stopped me from reaching my goal. Good luck! And have fun!
  6. It's really up to how you feel. There is no reason you can't have it unless you do some really strange...or difficult positions. Once you are feeling up to the task....then burn those calories the best and most fun way to do so! Greatest exercise ever! Lol
  7. It is normal....and it is also about the time that your weight loss starts slowing down. Remember it didn't come on overnight, it won't go away that way either. It took me a year and 8 months to get to goal. Just stay positive...and start measuring yourself instead of weighing! good luck!
  8. You are looking fabulous! Here is an example of why you should not look at the scales. My son and his friend are both 14... Both are 5'11" and both are 175 pounds. However my son works out doing mma and is in a lean size 32 pants where his friend who does not work out is in a size 36 pants. My son didn't understand how they weigh the same amount, and are the same height but his friend is so much bigger around. Muscle, while it weighs the same amount as fat, takes up less then half the actual volume as fat does. My point is that while the scale may not be moving your body may be exchanging fat for muscle and therefor the scale may not move, but your size will still get smaller, and you will appear thinner. So when you are feeling discouraged it is a good idea to measure yourself, and pay attention to how your clothes fit. Good luck girl! You are looking amazing!
  9. Congrats! Keep up the good work.... And I am so sorry about the dehydration! Gotta be careful with that! Good luck!
  10. It's a ruff patch. It took me about two months before I was feeling totally normal. I had major buyers remorse for even longer after that. Now I know that it was the best decision I ever made! Good luck!
  11. I get the same way before my period, and for a couple days into it. I usually gain a couple of pounds with it as well, however it comes right off after the period is over...and when I was still in the losing phase I would usually lose the most weight right after my Tom. Good luck!
  12. I got mine for $45 I feel very blessed to have good insurance. It is so sad that all of us don't! Good luck to all who need this surgery struggling with insurance...or worse, no insurance!
  13. What worked for me is losing slowly...drinking lots of water, and exercise. I hardly have any lose skin besides my tummy that was stretched out from having kids. Good luck
  14. I get a hiccup..Just one right before I am to full as well. So funny!
  15. Hello...almost two years out now. Just wanted to let you know that the slower you lose the better for your skin recovery/elasticity. Also better for you body, as well as not losing to much hair. You will get there. It didn't come on over night, so it's not gonna come off over night either. Good luck!
  16. Let me start by saying you look great! And then follow by saying...I wish my huge picture was as small as yours! I waisted to much time being miserable and wishing I would do something about it! If only I had done this surgery when I was your starting size. You are beautiful!
  17. Extra saliva in my mouth...feel like barfing. I am almost two years out...and I know when to stop now. You really learn your lesson after the first few times.
  18. Haha! I cheated on mine and had a six dollar guacamole bacon burger! As long as its not a day or two before surgery, and you make sure to lose the weight that your surgeon wants, you should be fine....just get back on the horse! Good luck!
  19. It takes a couple of months before you are completely recovered from surgery. Give your body time...it will get easier day by day.
  20. Yes, it does help a lot....but you should also be very careful not to get pregnant within the first year at least. There have been plenty on here that have had baby's post op without trying at all...unless you are racing the clock I would wait until you are very close to your goal before even thinking of having a baby.
  21. Well you are a man...so your hormones may work a little differently then women. Maybe you have been storing more estrogen in your fat then testosterone. I don't know how long it has been since surgery...but I know that within a few weeks of having mine I was like a hormonal teenager who couldn't get enough. Still even after almost two years my sex drive is higher then it has ever been....now this might also be the fact that I am almost 37 and women usually get a little more frisky at this age as well. I sure hope it increases for you! Good luck!
  22. Best decision I ever made...and I was very against wls.
  23. I drew on the sidewalk with my daughter on my stomach at the park 4 days post op. if you don't have pain then you should be good. Always check with your surgeon whenever something comes up that you aren't sure about....but it sounds like you are one of the lucky ones that have a fast and easy recovery. Count your blessings! Good luck!
  24. Well there are two different solutions that come to mind. Number one being that carbs are addicting...don't eat any, and sooner or later you will stop craving them...or two, go ahead and have some. Just have a little and be done with it. I am almost two years out and I don't restrict myself from having anything. If I have a craving for something then I have it...just a little bit usually does the job, and then my brain and tummy are happy. If there is something that you really want then have it. It has worked for me...I have lost over 140 pounds and I feel great! I know if I tell myself that I can't have a certain food then I become obsessed with it and it drives me nuts. Good luck to you!
