Obstructed by a "bezoar", has anyone else heard of this?
yup..one of the first things on the pre op paper work was not to eat fibrous foods like coconut, and celery! no more of that stuff for anyone. if you need to have your fix on coconut flavor, there are extracts that you can use. dont have to worry about that because it is in liquid form. hope it disolved for you. great that you shared your story so other avoid this problem!

How tired are you?
i had my surgery on the 16th and i feel great energy wise. i have been taking gummy multivitamins. they are meant for children and they are 2 for a child so i have been taking 4 a day. 2 in morning and 2 at night. they dont upset the sleeve either because i can suck on them and disolve um in my mouth. taste good too. just like a gummy bear. i know you feel like poop, but i also found just dragging yourself out in the sun can boost you mood and make you feel better too. i have been exercising lightly and seem to get some energy from that as well. i hope you feel better!

Post Op day 2...feeling pretty rough! Any advice is appreciated!
wondering one is right. you just need to stay hydrated. dont worry about the protein for now. after a few days when you are feeling better then try a little at a time. it will get easier....keep up the walking walking walking. it helps sooooo much. the medicine cup is a great thing to use for sipping all of your required liquids. if you make sure to sip one of those down every 10 minutes while you are awake then after you have done that all day you have drank 1 gallon of liquids. good luck to you on a fast and safe recovery!

How many Incisions??
you can have 5 if you dont have a drain tube, or 6 if you need one. most docs do steri strips now with no stiches or staples, which is better for scarring. mine are almost healed and look like cat scratches right now. one is high inbetween my boobs, and so little no one would ever notice. i have one on each side of my belly that is less then 1/4 inch, and i have two in the middle right above my belly button that are each about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch long. i am very please with them, and dont think they will be to bad. if you are really worried about scarring you can always by mederma to put on them, it does really help minimize the scars. i have used it in the past on other ones. i too have pictures of my incisions at 4 days post op i think. i will be putting more on in a few days so that people can see what they look like when they are healed completely. you have to friend me to see them though. -sassy

Sleeved and home
i had a hard time breathing deeply as well. felt like a sharp pain in my lung for the first couple of days. they ordered me an inhailer, and that helped. my gas came out as burps as well. keep walking alot and that will help with a fast recovery. congrats! oh and the feeling of having a hard time breathing was gone by day 4.

Phantom like band feeling
the feeling of still having the port could be from scar tissue that forms around it. i never had the lap band, but i have heard of scar tissue forming around the port site, and even though they removed the port that doesnt necessarily mean that they cleaned out the scar tissue.

Feeling full on the sleeve. What it like?
when i get the feeling its like i know if i have anymore im gonna have it come back up on me. my chest feels tight, and i have a lot of burps. sometimes even 'burping' myself. i also get this foamy stuff along with my burps if i drink protein shakes. not pleasant. i have to take it slowly, and wait a while after every sip so that i make sure not to fill up to fast and have the awful feeling come back.

Sleeve and Bipolar Meds
hello. i am a psych tech and hand out medications to patients all the time. i just wanted to let you know that it is possible for you to get alot of the medications in liquid form so that it will not hurt your stomach after the sleeve. most of the absorption occurs in the intestines any ways its just not being able to swallow the pills right after surgery. there are also a lot of capsule forms that you can open and put into liquid so that they dont hurt your sleeve. as far as adjusting the strength or the type of meds, you are right to talk to your psychiatrist and also have him talk with your surgeon. most docs are willing to communicate with other docs about what is right for you. they most likely will adjust the strengths of the meds as you loose weight but they should not take you off your meds abruptly as this may cause a deep depression or manic episode. it is improtant for you to realize as well not to stop taking your meds because you feel better. i see this all the time with my patients and they do not realize the reason that they feel better is because of the meds, and it makes them spiral out of control. best wishes for you, and if you need any support please feel free to message me. -sassy

Ng tube
you poor thing! i hope it gets better for you! im sorry i have not had one so i dont know what you are going through. i would suggest that you tell your doctor that you have a hungry feeling again, and that you feel like gagging when you try to eat because of the ng tube. i hope you are able to have this problem resolved soon. just remember that it will get better and this wont last forever. its sometimes hard to picture a way out when you are in the momment of recovery.

VSG Surgery vs. C-Section
i did not have a c-section, however i did have a tubaligation, where the doc had to cut my stomach the size of a c-section due to my obisity. i was in more pain from that then this surgery. i had my surgery on the 16th and as far as physically i feel 100%. i laid on my tummy at the park on grass yesterday drawling with chalk on the sidewalk in front of us with my daughter and i had no pain whatsoever. the only thing thats different is now i have restriction in my stomach when i eat. loven this so much! i wish that i had done it after my last baby. i feel like i have waisted 8 years of my life being fat. good luck to you for a safe and easy recovery!

I Quit Smoking Today!
good for you! i wish i could get my husband to quit! he loves it too much. i bought him the e cigs and that lasted all of about 2 days before he ditched that 50 dollar cigy. you are pre op or post op? if you are pre op then a good trick is to keep your mouth busy, chew on carrots, that really helped me. also you can get those cinnimon flavored tooth pics and just have those on the side of your mouth to keep it busy. most people who are quiting have the hardest time quiting the actual hand to mouth movement a cigy gives you, try doing that with the carrots for a while. i quit in 04 and havent been back to them since!
