Food Addiction SUCKS!!!
i did the same thing at first when i was just thinking about the surgery. i figured i would get it out of the system while i could so that i wouldnt feel bad for missing food. it didnt really do anything for me but pack on the pounds. i still miss the food, but i have been really good at making really good choices now. i have my surgery tomarrow, and i cant wait now.

Am I Insane???? I have surgery on Tues with Dr Kelly and am starting to FREAK....
im scared to death and mine is in the us. i have 3 kids that i have to be here for. the only thing that keeps me going through this is that i want to be there for them when they grow up and get married and have kids of their own. i dont see me in the picture in the future without this surgery, thats why i need to do this now, to be healthy for them, and myself in the future instead of in the ground.

I've lost weight and I am afraid
i have felt the same way in the past, even not telling people of my diet for fear of failure, which was inevitable before. i wouldnt worry about the numbers right now.soon enough people will start noticing on their own how successful you are.

Am I Insane???? I have surgery on Tues with Dr Kelly and am starting to FREAK....
i'm on tuesday as well. think its normal to freak out a little before any surgery. this is a life changing event, and if you wernt nervous at all about it then THAT wouldnt be normal. try to do things to keep yourself busy until then, so you think less about it. im taking my kids camping this weekend to keep my mind off of it. take care, and talk to you on the other side

Dizzy feeling
sounds like it could be one of two things, orthostatic hypotention can happen when you bend down to fast, or get up out of bed to fast. you dont need to have high blood pressure to have this happen. the sudden movement can cause a sudden drop in your bp and this can give you that dizzy feeling. making sure to go slow to bend down and dangle one foot at a time over your bed (when getting out of bed)for a few seconds, then get up slowly from bed. also being dehydrated can cause your bp to be high, or to low. could also be an inner ear infection. fluid build up on the ear can tamper with our ability to stay balanced and increase dizziness apon bending over due to the pressure increase as the fluid moves. the feeling associated with this is a dizzy feeling and like the room is spinning, you may even sway. have you been swimming lately, or do your ears feel like they have extra moisture in them? doesnt have to be pain or fever for this to occur.

pre op was today, got some good news
I was so nervous last night about my pre op that I couldn't even sleep a wink. I don't know why I was nervous, everything is already approved, and I have lost all of my pre op weight requirement, but I still couldn't shut off the 'what if' voice in my head. The fear of not actually being able to get this surgery at the last minute and all the different reasons why kept running through my mind; instead of the cute little sheep I should have been counting. Anyhow, my meeting at the doctors office went great and my doctor told me that I could add one egg and one stick of string cheese to my diet a day!! I'm so happy. I have been drinking just protein shakes for 9 days now and only cheated with sugar free fudge pops, which my doctor said was ok. (yes I told on myself) He was very pleased with my pre op weight loss as well. I have the best knews about my deductable/copay for the surgery! I pay NOTHING!!! Can't believe its true but it is! woohoo! So now I'm down to six days and counting till surgery day. Can't wait to rock my sleeve...

Did you keep it a secret??
I have kept it a secret from everybody except my bf, my oldest daughter, my hubby, and my doctors. I dont want to hear all the crap about taking the easy way out, or are you sure that you really tried dieting? About being out for surgery when people ask what am I having surgery for I tell them I need my gall bladder removed, which isnt a lie, I am having my gall bladder removed. Its really up to the person having the surgery whether or not to share. The friends and family might be upset that you didnt tell them, but how are they gonna know unless....wait for it.....you tell them...lol take care.

Question for you all about complication
well all i have to say about that is ......whats the difference between a surgeon and God? God knows hes not a surgeon...lol jk.....not all of them are like this, but some out there get the "God" complex. I think you have done the right thing. stop worrying about that, and stary thinking possitive about everything else that has not been complicated!

5-day Update...
thank you for sharing the goods and the bads, my surgery is in less than a week and im so wanting to hear about the first few days of recovery. im glad that you mentioned the whole "eye hunger" thing. i didnt know what to call it but i definately suffer from it. i am not an emotional eater, but i am one that loves food. i am constantly thinking about food. there really isnt a time when im not thinking, what am i gonna eat for lunch, dinner, snack....and on and on. sometimes just for no reason what so ever i will start to crave something and it will naw at me until i go and get it. i have a cyst in my saliva gland that is painful to the touch and whenever im thinking about food...(which is always) i start to salavate and my nerve will give off a sharp pain from the blockage in the gland. i really need to have it removed soon or it might be a problem now that i cant eat like that anymore. anyways, i know it is literally a food addiction, i guess i need to address this in therapy as well as all my other problems lol it is really nice to be on a site where you can talk to others about what youre going through and they can totally understand what your going through....and they get it.....not like family or friends that dont know what its like to be over weight. thanks again...and CONGRATS!!!!!!
