  1. Hi turtlebutt! :-) I joined! I'm an Air Force spouse - sleeved on 8/23/11 at Ft. Carson. Nice to meet you! :-) Jen
  2. You look GREAT!! Way to go! Thank you for sharing - I was just sleeved 4 weeks ago, and this inspires me to WORK IT! :-) Jen
  3. Hello and Welcome! I was sleeved on 8/23/11, and the hunger pangs and growly stomach the first week were AWFUL. The good news is - it goes away! I am just about 4 weeks out now, and experiencing no hunger at all. I feel great - better than I have for YEARS before surgery! I have been amazed by this journey every day - already so glad I did it!! Good Luck! Jen
  4. Hi Tabitha! I was sleeved on 8/23/11 through Tricare at Ft Carson, CO. I thought the process was pretty smooth. My referral was put in in April, so all the pre-op classes and tests took about 4 months for me. I felt very well prepared for my surgery! I know that there are only a few military hospitals doing the VSG right now, so you may have to travel. I was lucky that Ft. Carson is only about 40 minutes from where we are stationed. Good luck!! And feel free to ask me any other questions you think of! Jen
  5. Way to go!! You are inspiring me in this journey - I am only a month out from surgery! So excited for you!
  6. My surgeon said no carbonation, ever again. I really miss the Diet Coke, but hopefully I'll feel better in the long run if I'm not drinking 6-8 cans a day like I was pre-surgery. It is so interesting to me how different the surgeons' advice can be.
  7. Hi! I am a long time lurker that finally registered today! I was sleeved on 8/23/11 - so 4 weeks tomorrow! I have lost 19 pounds since surgery. I can start "soft" food tomorrow, and have had some trouble getting enough protein in. Water has been a challenge as well. I am just not hungry at all. I feel really great, but I do wear out much earlier in the day than I used to. I am so happy I did this, and am enjoying this journey!
