Don't worry too much about weight loss now. Just heal. Your bloated and swollen. This will go away and much quicker than you think. You won't believe your progress in a week. Chin up, your doing fine!!

I am glad things went well. I had my sleeve 9 days ago and I too have fibromyalgia which is one of my main reasons for the surgery. I was so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I actually feel better. Not as much inflammation in my muscles. Less headaches and more energy. That is only after 9 days. I am so excited to start feeling like a normal person again

Yes we did it all in one shot. Had my test today and no leaks but my doc hasn't been to see me yet so it's been over 40 hours without food or Water. I have my IV but still. I'm getting pretty cranky.

I am one week out. Still sore but not nearly as bad as days 1-3. On liquids still. Tried mint tea today. So yummy. Still eating oat bran, yogurt, Protein Shakes and Soup mostly. My family had a party yesterday and I ate the cheese and pizza sauce off a small slice. That way I didn't feel so deprived. I am down 10 lbs and I earned it. I have to keep reminding myself that I caused this pain and need it to get where I'm going. Chin up and keep on keeping on!!

I have been banded for 2 plus years with little success so I am getting it removed March 24 and having the gastric sleeve done. I found the banding super painful ( and I've had 3 C-sections) so I am scared to go through it again. I feel like this is my last chance though, the breakthrough I have been needing. So I'm getting it done. I am too young to be this sick...I have fibromyalgia, sleep apnea and high blood pressure to name a few issues and Im only 31!!
Anyone else with fibro that had the gastric sleeve??

I suggest going over your diet and adding more nutritious food. Adding is easier than subtraction. If you get enough really good nutrition it lessons the cravings for crappola. Also, up your Water intake.

    Aloha,
Just checking in. I was sleeved January 30, 2013. I started at 311 pounds and currently weigh 171 pounds. I have not reached goal yet. I am still happy with my progress, but I definitely took some detours along the way. Hang in there everyone. I know sometimes when the scale stays the same for more than a week it is frustrating, but eventually it does come off. Stay strong, count calories (or whatever works for you), keep active, and look ahead.

I completely understand and have been thinking about this a lot. I am having the sleeve the 24th and my husband is one of those " can't you just not eat?" people. He's not rude. He just doesn't get it. I've had the lap band for 2 years without success so I've been through this before. I am telling as few people as possible because most like to judge. After it's done they can judge my smaller healthy butt all they want!!!! Lol

Moon, I answered that I was cutting back on carbs and doing exercise, which is all true. Give them a bone like, "bread will really do it to you, I am so addicted to bread" they will start going on about how addicted they are to bread, etc. etc. etc. and you don't have to say another thing lol. They will do all the talking for you

I didn't tell my coworkers I had WLS. I've had comments that I look good, that they've noticed I lost weight or that classic Southern comment "You look well rested."
My favorite was today: Somebody just told me to be careful because I'm loosing weight too fast!
I assured him I am working with a nutritionist.

Hi Earnest. I'll be praying for a safe surgery tomorrow. Like any surgery, when you wake up you pretty much feel like you've been run over by a big Mack Truck. It's difficult to swallow fluids and your stomach is pretty sore. The hospital will bring in a tray of food, none of it will look appetizing and it none of it will smell good but they will expect you to consume part of it. Most people go home the second or third day and the broth you fix at home will taste better. Each and every day makes a noticeable difference as far as what you can consume and how you feel. Take the first week slow and let your insides heal. Week two you will have energy and excitement for the journey. Good luck and have a safe recovery. You're gonna love this after the first month. lol

I'm a horrible sleeper too.... I worked almost 3 years graveyard shift because I figured I might as well make money. In the long run it was a bad idea and I take trazadone to help me sleep. My rhuemotologist is a bitch.... She attributes all my problems to my weight so I can't wait till I lose weight and can finally get to the source of my issues.... That an a new doctor might not be a bad idea! Haha

One step at a time. I've had my band removed as it had eroded, piled on loads of weight and am due the sleeve on April 11 th.
Have a thorough chat with your surgeon and anaesthetist prior to surgery and try not to worry.........easier said than done, I know.
You are four operations up on the newbies and know what the positives are, think of those instead of the negatives....and treat this op as the first day of the rest of your life.
    Good luck x
