Surgery day is tomorrow april 21st!
Just try to keep your chin up over the next few weeks while healing. It gets a little depressing but in the end it will be worth it!! Good luck!!

I Need help, im getting discouraged. 6 days post surgery.
Don't worry too much about weight loss now. Just heal. Your bloated and swollen. This will go away and much quicker than you think. You won't believe your progress in a week. Chin up, your doing fine!!

CAN'T DECIDE!
I had the sleeve done on March 24. I went with it because I feel it's a little more natural. All your natural processes still work and malabsorption isn't as bad. Plus if you don't have a huge amount of weight to lose you don't need something as drastic as the bypass. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

On The Other Side
I had the band to sleeve done march 24. I had some nausea, the worst thing is sugar. Juice, jello, pudding, really made me queasy. Low to no sugar was best for me.

Switching from band to sleeve..so scared
I haven't had any flare ups since surgery until this weekend which was my fault, I went quadding. Other than that I have felt better!! Yay!

Quadding!
So I seen my doc on day 18 and she said I could go if I felt ok. I did feel good and went on a 10 hour rally. Driving was better because I could support myself with my legs and arms. My incisions didn't bother me at all unless I was riding. That was a little too bouncy. I sure felt it in my legs and arms the next day but it didn't affect my sleeve at all. If your ready you'll know, we heal fast. Hope this helps!!

ITS GO TIME!
Thank you. I am 10 days out and 12lbs down and feeling pretty good. Little pains in my belly, still healing. Poop out easy but that's healing too. But I just know things are going to go good from here. Good luck on your sleeve and just keep in mind the first few days that it will get better. And you are going through pain now to avoid it in the future. This will be nothing but a bump in the road.

ITS GO TIME!
I am one week out. Still sore but not nearly as bad as days 1-3. On liquids still. Tried mint tea today. So yummy. Still eating oat bran, yogurt, protein shakes and soup mostly. My family had a party yesterday and I ate the cheese and pizza sauce off a small slice. That way I didn't feel so deprived. I am down 10 lbs and I earned it. I have to keep reminding myself that I caused this pain and need it to get where I'm going. Chin up and keep on keeping on!!

UPDATE!! 6 days out. Stayed in the hospital 4 days. Still very tired and sore. Just trying to sleep and take it easy before I go home to my kids tomorrow. Having a hard time eating. Everything looks gross. lol. Not a fan of sugary stuff, liking Greek yogurt , cream of wheat, mashed potatoes with lots of milk. Down 9 lbs!!!

ITS GO TIME!
Yes we did it all in one shot. Had my test today and no leaks but my doc hasn't been to see me yet so it's been over 40 hours without food or water. I have my IV but still. I'm getting pretty cranky.

I am on my way to the hospital to have my band taken out and hopefully the sleeve done if the stomach isn't too scarred. Please pray for me fellow WLS peeps. I'm not afraid of surgery but of recovery!! :s

Hair Loss - A Harsh Reality. Picture of Loss.

Weight loss, a never-ending challenge
I'm sure your bloodwork will be fine. It has to be better than all the extra weight on your heart ect right? I a anxiously awaiting my surgery o the 24th!! I was banded for 2 years and now I am getting sleeved. I hope I have learned enough about nutrition and excersise so I can stay healthy and lose weight. How much have you lost so far?

Quadding!
Thanks. We aren't stunters by any means but the trail gets rough. Thick mud to get through ect.

Quadding!
This might sound crazy but we do an annual quad rally every year and it's so awesome. But I will only be 3.5 weeks out of surgery. Do you think I might be healed enough to go? How did others feel 3-4 weeks after surgery??

Telling people Im having weight loss surgery.
I completely understand and have been thinking about this a lot. I am having the sleeve the 24th and my husband is one of those " can't you just not eat?" people. He's not rude. He just doesn't get it. I've had the lap band for 2 years without success so I've been through this before. I am telling as few people as possible because most like to judge. After it's done they can judge my smaller healthy butt all they want!!!! Lol

Getting impatient
Hey ladies. Jess805 I haven't had much luck controlling my Fibro pain. I tried lyrica and it did nothing for me and I took cymbalta and it was helpful. I've been trying to get off all meds. I just take meds for sleep because I have never been a good sleeper. I take quetiapine for restless mind and nerves( it's an antipsychotic but used for many things) and I take zopiclone. Other than that it's just pacing myself, hot baths, lots of heating pads.
