  1. How long after surgery do I have to wait to get first fill?

I feel like I could eat way more than I am suppose to.

    Surgery 7/19

My dr did my first fill 4 weeks post op. Some do 6 weeks. I know that some folks say it takes a while to determine your green zone...I guess 4-5 months out, I am still not in the zone...will be having a real conversation with my Dr next week to fill her up!

  2. Sorry to hear about your pains...these things will drive emotional eaters to food for sure, and very understandable! For those who love me, I explained to them that I am a food addict. The same concept as an alcoholic and smoker, or even drug addict..food WAS my go to drug. I explained that as a child a snuck and ate after hours..and that I binge eat when I am stressed, sad and bored. This seemed to help those I love understand and support me. I have only told my love ones about my journey, as I do not owe anyone outside my loving circle, an explanation.. which reduces me having to hear unwanted opinions. The decesion is not east and is yours to make. However, as a mom, I was afraid of not being here with my little one. But after researching over a year and understanding the pros and cons! Best of luck in whatever you decide!! You have support here on this site for sure!

  3. I am was feeling sooooo nervous before my surgery...cried the night before and almost backed out 430 am!! This was far easier than my tosil removal, knee repair and child birth (as of I need to state that!) Wishing you the best! Know that your feelings are super normal!

  4. i feel ya! nothing wierd about that! Nice part of the body! I want to wear short sleeves in public for the first time past the age 10! My dream outfit..a fitted fresh white t-shirt and some nice jeans...thats it..no bikini ..no mini shirt..but short sleeves!! lol. I love working out and I lift wieghts regulary (for tone not bulk)..can'ts wait till I can see the results of my tone arms!..

  5. omg! i am 3 days post op and felt the same way before i had surgery! i have had 2 other surgeries but was soo stressed becuase this was elective...i almost backed out the morning of. I cried the night before like crazy! I am a mom of a toddler and was thinking the worst...however...its normal! I am recovering at home, and can say this was much easier than my other surgeries..Lots of Gas, but nothing unbearable. I was too very stressed and uneasy..reach out whenever you have questions~ This site is great for support~

  6. I am about to get the LB in 2 weeks. I only told a few close folks, however, for everyone who got it at my very large establishment, there were always rumors, and people always will talk. Heck, even if you loose it without surgery, they will assume the lader. I am 33 as well, but will say that at this point in my life, I live for me and my family. Eating unhealthy junkfood, smoking cigs, alcohol abuse, whatever the addiction...any healthy tool that helps me change for the better is nothing to be embarressed about. In Fact, I praise anyone who wants to be healthy and take control of thier addiction. For the most part, ignorance fuels people thoughts and actions at time. Hold your head up, love yourself and be proud. Having the support of your family may or maynot have helped, just having a loving and supportive ear is important in times of despair.

  7. I have aetna and just finished my 3 month program on friday. My dr submitting paper work next week. I did the 3 months as I did not want to wait 6. However, I had to see my dr every 2 weeks, nutritionist every 2 weeks, Pysch dr about 4 times, and trainer 6-10 times during the 3 months..it was hard with the holidays and took a lot of co pays. Dr advised that the Aetna would make me start program over if I missed any appts (with the exception of a serious reason). In short, they will cover with 3 month program, just be sure Dr knows thier stuff. My dr works close with the Surgeon and has never had a insruace case rejected...her staffs makes sure everything is in order before submitting...hope this helps and good luck!
