  1. Think I may be getting close to the green zone. But even at 10ccs I know im not there yet. Have lost 40 total.
  2. It's all over the news that she had WLS #2. From what I know and seen. I think RNY surgery is temporary and Anyone I know who had it done are all morbidly obese again. Which is horrible considering they lost half of a perfectly functioning organ for nothing. I almost had RNY but I am happy that I didn't. I think carnie Wilson made the right choice and she's such a huge inspiration to me. I would love to hear about her journey. I hope this new journey is a wonderful and successful one for her. I think she's beautiful either way. Let your new Life begin Carnie!
  3. Thank u all. It does feel great. But it's scary at the same time. The lingering thought of " I hope this thing really works and does wat it's supposed to, because I have a lot to lose" is always in the back of my mind. But my determination is soaring.
  4. Thank you all for your posts on this thread. Ur words and thoughts stay with me through out the day. And it motivates me and keeps me on track. I have been doing better at this with y'all. Another cool thing I wanna share is that I used to hate weighing myself daily bcuz it was never In my favor to do so. But lately I can't help myself to not do it. Bcuz I keep losing each time.
  5. @nicksmom~ thank you for the motivation and encouragement. I just found out by my dr. That my thyroid was way out of range which was effecting my weight loss. Dr said I'm going to start dropping weight rapidly now that he adjusted my Rx and mostly bcuz of my new band. Im starting to see the light.
  6. Im a slow loser but not giving up. Especially now that I'm down to 197. Far From goal but close to hitting my sweet spot. Once I get my next fill I'll b there and I think I'll begin a steady loss. I'm 3 months out and only lost 20 pounds. I need some motivation stories.
  7. I had the same outbreak after I thought I had done damage to my newly implanted band. I wolfed down a piece of chicken and felt awful after. Still haven't lost weight. But I'm only 3 1/2 weeks post op. After reading these stories I know I'm not alone. It's so hard in the beginning.
  8. @shirley, I'm 2 weeks post op and have only managed to Lose 4 pounds. The scale is refusing to change. I am so discouraged as I am sticking to the diet. I have no restriction and I'm still hungry. Can u tell me when this will go away? I'm in banster hell for sure. Just looking for some encouragement. Please advise.
  9. Amanda, good Luck with ur journey. I assure u that your in good hands with dr Au. He Is a fantastic surgeon. If u hav blue cross I'm pretty sure u can get an approval over the phone. The approval is very quick. Check out the status of yours by calling or going online.
  10. Haha. Yeah I probably should have BUT I did have my surgery through this company and I have no complaints at all. They are very efficient and got me approved and banded within 3 months wait period. My surgeon dr au was great. And he his work is great. He left my scars very minimal to where they will b invisible within a year. I'm not sure why 1-800-GET-THIN has such s bad rep. But what I can say is dont believe all you hear, trust your instincts and go wherever they make u feel most comfortable.
  11. I took 2 nibbles of bread and started coughing. And I'm curious how this happens when all I have is the empty band on me. I am 14 days post op with no restriction. Why must I do liquids??? Grrrr!
  12. Lina- i Had the same exact fears and doubts you r having. I felt that just because I wanted this so bad that it wasnt gonna happen for me. I was in nervous wreck up until they were actually putting my iv on. U will be fine. If there were anything in the way of you having the surgery, they would hav told you already. Enjoy your moment and dont stresss. I wish you all the best. It's going to b fine.
  13. I will be banded tomorrow!!! I'm not excited anymore. I'm now scared. I think it's my nerves more than anything else. This has been a long journey for me. I started in 2009 and got the ball rolling but then lost my job and couldnt go forward. I was unemployed and gaining so much more weight. Which needless to say lead to deep depression. Until last November I got a call for a job that I never applied for. They found my resume on caljobs website. I took the minimum wage job just for the fact that I was offered medical benefits after 90 days. A bell rang in my head and told me to take the job and get the surgery I wanted 1 year before. I took it and have been there to celebrate my year anniversary And what a gift to myself. Im doing this to Start a brand new life that will help bring me back to the happy beautiful girl I once was before. I am dying to break free from this horrible body and let my new Life begin. Lol. I'm almost there. Wish me luck.
  14. I have my surgery scheduled there and with him. But I'm reading some shady stories about this place. I went through 1-800-GET-THIN.
  15. Did u have to do a chest xray the day of your surgery? Where did u have your surgery? I have mine this Friday at Tri city medical region in hawaiian gardens. I'm scared something will come up to make them cancel ny surgery.
  16. Hi. I was curious to know how your surgery day went.
  17. 4 more days. So many tests to get to this point. And still have to pass 2 more. Grrrrr :/ but this friday will mark the beginning of a new life
  18. @zales126 - depending which provider u choose to do your surgery, you will prob have to wait until it kicks in. U need your insurance card and group number. There are a good 4-6 tests u must take before a request is submitted to your insurance.
  19. From wat I've observed on these boards, and from experience I feel that blue cross is the fastest and easiest as far as approval goes. U can call their customer service and get a verbal approval and they will give u a reference #. And with that in hand ur ready to book your surgery date. They make it that easy. I'm glad I have bcbs. They are awesome. Making dreams become reality one patient at a time.
  20. November 4th is the day for me. I just hope there are ni snags from now until that day. I'm beyond excited.
  21. @jennifer1 - u have really eased my worries. Cordovan- thx for the post. These are The words that help Me thru this roller coaster of emotions.
