Hello, I need a lapband mentor...I have so many questions even before I go to the seminar, but want to actually talk to someone...is there anyone who wants to be my lapband mentor? I just have so many questions and want to talk to someone who's “been there done that”. I also have MS so if you (unfortunately) have an autoimmune disease I think we could relate more. Johanna, I would love to talk to you. I have MS and would like to get lap band. God forbid I end up where my husband has to take care of me, he wont be able to lift me as is.

I have United Health Care and they will not cover the surgery unless I go through an appeal. Has anyone had success with getting the surgery approved?

I have United Health Care and I was told today that my employer has a blanket policy of not covering weight loss surgery but I can appeal it. Has anyone ever heard of United Health Care covering weight loss surgery after you go through the appeal process? Is the process of appealing complicated?
