  1. a chicken leg sounds good! From KFC and maybe a side of potatoes LOL
  2. The first week I lost maybe 2 lbs because of the fluids. I am 3.5 weeks out and down 16 now.
  3. I'm going back Tuesday after 4 weeks off and worried about the same thing. More than anything I am worried about my concentration (or lack of) and fluids.
  4. I'm eating darn little and wish I could get in 550 calories! I have had Tuna salad 2 days in a row for Breakfast. Cottage cheese is bitter. The Protein shakes too sweet. I like egg drop Soup and split pea soup. Cheese sticks are good. That's about it. I can have cream of wheat, pudding but I barely have room to eat the protein so I have yet to try those things. I have some sort of allergy drainage that isn't going away that makes me cough all day long and of course worse when I eat. They gave me nasal spray which doesn't seem to help - I swear I feel like my mom who has COPD coughing and hacking all day. Haven't lost in 2 days but feel like that is my low calories. Wish I had a pep talk to give you! What are you eating?
  5. I don't know how far out you are but I am on soft food at 3 weeks and my instructions say 4 tbsp or 1/4 cup max. I can do about 2 tbsp.
  6. I'm so excited for you!!! Update us as soon as possible!!
  7. Great question! I am new with my sleeve so I am interested in this answer!
  8. If you do and need any nectar protein they usually have a deal if you use syntraxdeal at check out
  9. I feel for you - thankfully my Dr didn't allow me to leave the hospital until I could get in 64 oz in 24 hours. It is hard - I still drink from morning til night and I am 3 weeks out. I can take bigger drinks now but it still takes a while. I can do protein shakes every few days and thats it. Hang in there!
  10. I made it to goal on weight watchers once, I moved 1000 miles and no one knew I used to be fat! My life was normal, all my new friends thought the new me was the only me. I put on 20 lbs but maintained that for 3 years and still felt so much better than I had! Let me tell you coming home to visit at 20 lbs heavier was hard though - I felt like a failure and that everyone was looking at me. I think most didn't notice. Life just seems to go on! When we moved back to "home" I promptly gained all my weight back plus 35 lbs. Yuck. Here I am today, on my way to goal again, hopefully for the last time!
  11. I feel like I am losing slower too - I am 3 weeks out and down 16 lbs - I see people who seem to be losing 2 lbs a day - I bounce between 1/2 to 1.5 lbs a day and had one day where I went up .2. No way without the surgery would I have lost this. So I am happy. I have a touch of the lactose intolerance - seems to just be with milk, I can tolerate cheese. I bought the light soymilk, unflavored as I thought the vanilla was too sweet for me and still I am only able to do a shake every few days - they are so sweet and it takes me hours to get them down - working hard to drink it without tasting it. I did like unflavored with diet hot chocolate but the bad thing about unflavored is just not much Protein which is disappointing. I am on food now - thankfully I'm not hungry but it can be alot of work to take the time to eat - not being able to drink around it and all. A meal for me is 2 TBSP of tuna salad or a cheese stick. Not much protein in them. I did split pea soup and that was good. My daughters friends parents own a Chinese restaurant and her mom brought me a huge container of egg drop soup tonight - yum, I know whats for dinner!! Definitely don't compare - think of what you would have lost if you were doing this without the sleeve - I know I wouldn't have lost as much as I have!!!
  12. Hope you feel better! Maybe this has been coming on and thats what has been causing your funk!
  13. Mostly I do bottled water (even filtering our tap water doesn't make it good). Sometimes I will use a 16 oz or 20 oz Tervis Tumbler if it is other than water, I love the lids and they are great to keep things cold/hot. Lifetime guarantee too!
  14. I use bjsbariatrics.com they are north of Indianapolis and I am in IL so I get my order in 2 days. Most of the vitamins are very closely priced, I haven't found a big difference at any specific place.
  15. What awesome victories!! I am hoping for the same with my cholesterol!
  16. So glad to hear your happy ending!! Keep us posted on your date and surgery!!
  17. I didn't have a real mushie state - I went from full liquids to being able to have tuna, fish, canned chicken, crackers, cottage cheese, eggs, oatmeal, applesauce, etc. Which sort of sounds like mushie except no potatoes and no puree soups. I would love some wendy's pureed chili - I can have bean soup but not ground beef yet.
  18. I'm just 3 weeks out and I have a hard time eating - everything right now sits heavy - even the protein drinks are too sweet. I had a hard boiled egg this morning and it was so heavy, won't be doing that again. I just couldn't bring myself to eat the rest of the day. I know I need to. I got in less than 300 calories today and I know I need more.
  19. Not sure when you were sleeved - but I was told tylenol too. I couldn't tolerate the liquid so got permission to take the juniors chewable - 4 does it for me, still not a full adult does but I haven't needed to take more so far.
  20. well I've lost 2 more so I just have 2 left but so far they are hanging tight!
  21. My Doctors do all surgeries as co-surgeons. For whatever reason they don't bill it that way. It is a recent coding change that a co-worker came across - there are "bits" on most codes and one co-worker noticed within the last few months it had changed for VSG. They still pay for a assistant surgeon on RNY but not VSG. I called my Dr's office and they had no idea. Of course BCBSIL changed in March from 3 to 6 months so many have been delayed in surgery and I know I was in the first wave of ones to finally get approved again. I am calling today to see how they billed - my RNY friends insisted theirs were all billed as co-surgeon and paid (different code used). I'm not mad at my Dr, this is a warning to everyone who has BCBSIL to check in to what your dr does.
  22. yes hang in there - you are one up on me, I am a week further out than you and still on FLMA. The littlest things wipe me out, I am not even ready to go back next week when I have to.
  23. I was told by co-workers that had RNY that the Dr bills as co-surgeon which should pay - however mine is showing assistant surgeon so I owe 1687.00. Which is fine I guess, can't do anything about it now. I am not sure when this changed but they do NOT pay for the assistant surgeon. I knew this going in (I work for them) but as I mentioned co-workers who have had the same Dr do RNY says he bills as co-surgeon. Not on VSG apparently.
  24. What is your dr's guidelines for right now? Your fluids are so important - make sure you get those in 64 oz minimum - you need that or will be dehydrated, whether you are thirsty or not. I haven't been doing much shakes myself, I don't have a set amount at this stage what I need to have so I have been trying to do what I can do. I find I have to set an alarm to remember to eat, vitamins. I just drink all day. I am one week further out than you.
