Need Advice On Finding A New Band Doc
Google hospitals in your area and see which ones have a bariatric team affiliated with them. Then call them and ask if they'll take on new patients. I'm sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your original docs

Sad :( No Restriction
In the same boat as you (no fills and no restriction) Just hang in there! If your hungry dont deprive yourself-eat! But in moderation. Go with low carb, try to stick to around 1000 calories a day. Eat Protein based foods The weight will come off! you'll see!

What Can Of Snacker Are You?
Honestly I was never much of a big snacker. I HATE eating in front of people and usually i'm around others. My issue was volume eating in private. When no one was around I would stuff myself silly I'm so ashamed

Did I Ruin My Band?
Really doubt you "ruined" your band or stretched your pouch. You really have no restriction without a fill so the little restriction you may have felt in the beginning was just post-op swelling which most people feel. The begining is very hard, which is why it's called "bandster hell" we're told to eat like we have restriction when we don't have any. It's rough, i know, (going through it right now) but you must stick to one cup of protein based food at a time. Do NOT overeat and then expect to throw it up if it's too much. Thats just nuts

Tonight I Wish I Didn't Have The Band
Great thread! Sasha, i'm giving you virtual hugs, and kicking your coworker in the shins I like the 80/20 rule. It makes sense and also makes me realize that NO ONE is expected to be perfect 100% of the time

Scary Stuck Episode !)@(*&%
oh wow! That sounds freaky! Now i'm so afraid to get my fill! Up until now (post-op but no fill) I have been able to eat practically everything and sometimes if i eat too fast i'll feel icky but it eventually passes (I get a watery mouth, my eyes water also, and i feel a gross pressure in my chest. but it always goes away in a few minutes) and i'll continue eating much slower thanks for posting this Have you got stuck since?

Lunch Ideas?
I sometimes take rice cake thins with thin slices of turkey and put on some veggies like red onions/pickles/peppers/cucumbers etc. I measure out 8 ounces of that and have that for a meal. It's got a lot of protein and minimal carbs (especially in comparison to putting it in a roll/pita/bun/bagel etc.)

Different Kind Of Band
Got the lapband. Supposedly they have less issues with leakage. But honestly the bands are all so similar that the differences are only tiny nuances

I Cant Start Working Out!!
It's tough but here are some tips; 1) dont work out alone- go to a gym. Being around other people working out will motivate you 2) Dont go on machines that bore you! I happen to hate the treadmill- which is why I go on the elliptical and the arc machine + I do tons of strength training 3) If all machines are tough for you/bore you then only do 10 mins at a time and then take a break and do another machine (IE- 10 mins elliptical, 10 mins of the arc machine, 10 mins of treadmill. Before u know it you will have done 30 mins of cardio) Good luck!! When the weight/inches come off you will be much more motivated!

Coke
@firebellydancer Your not a freak of nature that you can tolerate soda. Many people can! And lots of surgeons don't have issues with carbonation either. Everyone reacts to the band in different ways
-
Coke
Personally if I were yu I wouldn't even buy small cans for son. Having it completetly out of your house will help. "Out of site = out of mind" as they say. Even though its technically hidden in his room, c'mon its practically just as accessible as it being in your fridge. Good luck

Do Not Get Discouraged
So glad i read this!!! Everyone seems to be losing so much more weight than me, and its frustrating for me to see the scale barely move. But now I feel a new sense of hope Ant thank god the scale keeps moving in the right direction (albeit slowly)
-
Scale. Is This Possible?
Same thing with me! I'll go 10+ days and the scale won't move (sometimes even go up) but then one morning i'll be down 2 lbs. Like magic Its so weird, but enjoy the feeling!

How Long Did It Take To Get Back To No Pain??
Did your doc give you prescription pain meds? Your only two days out so your not supposed to be feeling great! (trust me- been there done that) Use this time to get used to the new feelings of hunger/fullness/gas etc. and just take it easy for another few days. Drink water and keep yourself hydrated

Ashamed To Meet Husband Co-Workers
Wow I can totally relate. But it's more than just co-workers. This feeling creeps up whenever I meet cousins, old friends, or anyone new for that matter. It's horrible, and i can certainly empathize. Remember your on your way to a thinner life. Use the memory of these awkward times to keep you motivated to lose the weight!

Always Constipated/never Poop!
Glad I stumbled onto this thread about 3-4 weeks after surgery I started feeling constipate and when I did poop (which was a rare) the cramping was unbearable. I was literally doubled over in pain. It was a nightmare. I called my surgeon and PCP and they both think it was the new birth control I started which was causing these side effects. Anyhow, i'm trying to lower my calcium intake and so far for the past day or two have been much better. The cramping was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life omggggg
