  1. The hospital I went to is a bariatric surgery center of excellance. All that means is that they performed x amt of bariatric surgeries to qualify for that award. From what I can tell leak tests are either done while you are on the table before suturing or a barium swallow before you are allowed to leave, but trust me they do one or the other before you leave the hospital,it would be to their benefit to do so
  2. Centrum chewables arent bad, caltrate makes a chewable,or now they (most vitamins) are in gummie form. Now they, are making a mini form for some vitamins.
  3. In all reality, you should have been tested before you either left the operating room or the hospital. And I would say by now you should almost healed(6 Weeks) and leaks shouldnt really be a concern
  4. You really should try to avoid bread, pasta, and rice, they do tend to swell in your sleeve. Try and stick to good protein sources, meat, fish, eggs, yogurt, then veggies, but it really depends what your surgeon has told you to do
  5. Everyone is different,it took me a week to feel decent, almost 2 Weeks before I could put my own shoes on. As for nausea,I had a patch behind my ear, which kept it at bay. Just take it easy, try to get your fluids first and foremost, dont want to end up in the hospital
  6. I did it by myself, along with showering, feeding myself, getting up to let dogs out several Times a day. Just take it slow, pace yourself.for me the hardest thing was getting up off the toilet, cuz its sits lower than any chair.but take it slow you can do it!
  7. Ok ladiwobs You already posted all of this on another thread, " I stretched out my pouch and gained weight" are you trying to make everyone crazy, start another 30 page drama? Really?
  8. Susan, moderator person. Isnt thete any way to block this thread, from people posting on it? It would be appreciated thank you
  9. I think your age can have alot to do with it bouncing back faster, than with older people like me. But it does take time,im talking close to a year with regular exercise.mine May never bounce back and will end up having cosmetic surgery to fix

  13. Thats what I thought, after reading what all she ate after surgery, and what all she was able to do,I couldnt put my own shoes on for almost 1 week, much less eat anything.
  14. Like others have said, thr only way to diagnose gall bladder problems is thru an ultrasound.
  15. Letting it go flat is one way to drink it. My Dr said sodas are not forbidden. See all drs are different. I waited till I was several months before I took my first sip. I too am a diet Dr pepper addict, but I definitely drink a whole lot less than pre op. I drinkd mostly water, and occasionally have a soda
  16. Most of the Dr will tell you no nsaids of any kind. But I waited about 2-3 months after surgery before I started taking them again.only take alleve.once every 24 Hrs,I told my surgeon, and all he asked is if I was having any problems, told him no.
  17. Dr Scott Welle Tucson Arizona,at Tucson medical center. He just removed my gall bladder this past Friday,my wls was March 2012
  18. I was told I had sleep apnea also,I tried really hard to use the machine,it freaked me out to have I on my face.but I did you it a few times. When it lost it suction and started blowing in my face, that made me crazy,so I quit using it. Took it to the hospital with as per instructed, they never even put it on me. After I was home,I tried to use a couple more times, but I just quit using it,I returned it,because my INS company, paid rent on it month to month.I did have to sign a paper I was returning it against drs orders. But im happier with out it.
  19. My dr.did five cuts also, the biggest eas very sore for a week. Its normal,I coukdnt even put my shoes on by myself for 10-12 days.even taking a shower at times was.hard, move the wrong way and it hurt
