  1. I'm having my hubby take mine tonight. My surgery is in the a.m. so figure better get it done now.
  2. Glad everything is going good. Tell them they need to move the roommate or they may have a major clean up. LOL I hope you get to go home soon and they let you have someting to wet your mouth. That I think would be the worst part. Tomorrow is my big day and I'm getting so nervous but this really helped!
  3. My nutritionist told me that it could take 5 or 6 days for signs of weightloss to happen. Don't be discouraged it so hard but the end result is so worth it!
  4. I hope everything went well today! I also go in Thursday and am getting nervous.
  5. That is awesome! Congratulations and keep up the good work. You are an inspiration!
  6. Thank you so much for this post. It makes me feel so much better about my surgery on Thursday.
  7. I have been on a major roller coaster of emotion this week. With being on the liquid diet for 10 days I was really thinking why can't I do it on my own. If I can do this then I can do anything. Then reality sets in and I know that I need help. Surgery is Thurs the 6th and I pray the next 4 days go by fast.
  8. Starting day 10 of the pre-op diet. It has been rough. Had a set back Tuesday when they rescheduled my doctor's appointment 3 times. But finally got it done on Wed. My surgery is this Thursday I can't wait. So far I have lost 13.5 pounds! It's not a lot but in my eyes it's a HUGE amount! Good Luck to everyone starting their pre-ops or that are on them now!
  9. Congrats! It's so exciting to get that news!
  10. Glad you are doing good! A cheeseburger does sound good. LOL
  11. I go to my doctor today. First day I've actually met him Then surgery next Thursday! I am so excited. The diet isn't going to bad today is day 6! My 13 yr old is such a great son to help me out when hubby is gone. He cleaned up after supper last night cause he knows I like to pick. LOL I always save my 3 oz of protein to eat supper with him. He is learning so much by my doing this. I love reading about everyone's excitement on here. And of course thier nervousness too. It makes me feel very normal.
  12. My hubby took us to Red Lobster for endless shrimp and I got sick on the way over. I went in and ordered popcorn shrimp, ceasar salad, baked potato. Ate 1/2 my salad went to the car and slept while my son and hubby ate. They brought mine out and I was feeling better so ate a biscuit on the 45 minute drive home then ate the rest at home. Wasn't what he had planned but it worked! I am now on day 6 of my pre-op diet and it does get easier each day! I started at 300 lbs and am now down to 283! Nothing like seeing the scale go down
  13. Congrats on your date! I was told once I have my band I should only eat 3 meals a day.
  14. I have had it happen but found that it is because I am not chewing my food thoroughly or/and taking to big of bites. I learned that if I slow down take smaller bites and chew well I'm ok.
  15. Congrats Laura on your surgery date! I know I have gone thru the same scared, excited and nervous so many times. LOL That is the best birthdday present you could ever receive! I have mine done 2 days after my birthday! I can't wait. On day 5 of the pre-op diet. I seriously just went to the fridge and was like hmmm what would I like to have and seriously started looking for a burger or cheese. LOL Then I was like wait a minute I need some of my chicken broth. It really does satisfy. I wish you lots of luck and will be here to encourage along the way. On another note my sisters last name is Heiser too. I just thought it was cool when I saw your name. Angie
  16. Every policy is different with United Healthcare. It depends on what your employer has them write it up as. My husband works for BNSF Railway and the only requirement for me was a BMI over 40. I have to pay the $20 co/pay when I go see my doctor. Other than that my surgery and anesthesia is 100% covered. My bariatric coordinator was shocked when she found out there was no waiting period or trying to lose weight for x number of months. I went to the lap-band seminar the end of July and then my first support group the first part of August. I missed the 2nd groupi August due to a friend's son dying, missed 1st group meeting in Sept. due to my son's first jr high football game. Made the 2nd one in Sept. Met with the nutritionist and psych eval in Aug, did xrays last week and surgery scheduled for Oct. 6. She said it's the quickest she's ever seen. I told my hubby thanks for having a good job.
  17. I don't have any words of wisdom BUT good luck! I can't wait to hear how you are doing! I have my surgery in 1.5 weeks.
  18. Me too! How are you doing on your pre-op diet? I'm doing better with each day but man oh man the boys ran thru McDonald's yesterday after my son's football game and I was like I give up give me a #1 and a large dr. pepper. BUT I held strong and did not give in!!! I have more will power than I thought.
  19. I just went to the android market and it's available for the androids too! :Banane23: I downloaded it and did the photo morph and my soon to be 13 yr old son said why didn't it shrink your arms. REALLY? That's what you noticed. :der: I said what about how I'd look if I lost 120 or 150 lbs. Damn kids.
  20. Welcome! I have my surgery on Oct 6th. It's so exciting. Good Luck!
  21. It seems all the doctors have different methods. I've read on here where some doctors let you do what is going on here. I know I'm on a 2 week liquid before and after then after the 2 week liquid after I get to so on pureed. It is such a deliccate process try not to overdue.
  22. lulu2you You are truly an inspiration! I wish you all the luck in your journey! I hope your kids will learn that what may embaress them now may be something they do to embaress thier kids at a later date. I am getting banded on the 6th my birthday present to myself! I hope you'll feel like updating us soon after you have it done!
  23. I agree it's a good thing to start trying to lose before surgery so people aren't questioning everything we are doing. My friend that had it done 3 years ago is still very select in the people she has told. But that's okay cause she is doing GREAT! I hope to follow in her footsteps. Today was very rough because of stress at work and the pre-op diet but thankfully my husband was home to help me deal, I honestly was ready to throw in the towel. But am now back in the right mental attitude!
  24. I'm new too! I'm due to have my surgery on the 6th of Oct! Good luck to you and your sister! It's awesome having a great support system.
  25. Day 3 of the pre-op diet. I know that this is one of the hardest days. It's just so hard but I know in the end it will be worth it. I am nervous though as it keeps getting closer.
