  1. Just wondering how everyone is doing? I am 6 weeks out and just hit 35lbs this morning. I haven't had any fills yet so I'm anxious for that on the 20th. Hope everyone else is doing well.
  2. Jenn S is checking in. I am down 2 lbs this morning so I am at 221. Haven't gotten as much exercise as I would like because we are all sick with colds, but I will get back to it tomorrow. Hope everyone else has as much luck.
  3. I am 5 weeks out now and I have lost 12 since surgery and 33 since pre op.
  4. I am really excited to do this again. It really helped to see how the scale moved each week instead of checking every day! 5. I just made it! Thanks for the challenge. I think it has really helped! Congrats everyone!
  6. Jenn S. checking in. I am at 224 so down another 2lbs. Yeah. That makes my total for the challenge 8lbs. This really helps so much to see it all at the end of the month. I'm almost at the 60 miles for the 60 mile challenge. I haven't stuck totally to the post op diet (darn thanksgiving!) Congrats everyone! Oh yeah and did I mention that I met my first big goal of weighing less than my husband? Well I do!
  7. I'm glad everyone had a pretty good thanksgiving. I had a little bit of the things that were important and made a sugar free pumpkin pie so I had a desert I really liked. The biggest victory.... my husband gained 2 lbs and I lost 1 so I am for the first time in our marriage at a lower weight than him. It was my first big goal and he kept losing so the goal kept moving. I'm so excited! I did 2 big workouts of an hour each this weekend so hopefully I can stay less than him.
  8. Jenn S. I am at 225 so I am down 1lb for the week. Congrats to everyone!
  9. My husband and I went on a hike for our anniversary. (way to go us for finding a non food date) The trail was pretty tough and it took us an hour and a half for 3-4 miles. It was really fun and nice to not be so out of shape that I couldn't do it!
  10. Good morning! Way to go everyone! I am down to 226 so I am down 2 lbs this week. Yeah! Thanks for the support. Jenn S.
  11. I got an hour and 20 min of walking in on Sunday. It was beautiful here! I got some walking in on Friday too!
  12. I got in a walk with my son in the stroller today. That thing is heavy. I'm a lot slower with it, but I still got in 2.5 miles that I will add to my ticker on Monday when I get to work. I'm so grateful the weather has been good. My gym membership starts on Monday so I will be able to go on my lunch break when the weather is crappy.
  13. I asked my doctor this during my first visit. His answer was "depends how crazy you want to get!" I was banded on Oct 27th and we "split the sheets" when the staple were out after 10 days.
  14. I am at 228, so down four pounds! Hope everyone did well!
  15. I went for my post op check up today and they did not have any fill appts until Dec 20th which is 7 or 8 weeks after my surgery. They won't do them at all until 5-6 weeks. I'm going to keep calling for cancellations but I am afraid I am going to be starving! The protien helps so I will just stay away from the carbs as much as possible.
  16. I'd like to join again. This month I am going to finish!
  17. I'd like to join. I was just banded on the 27th. Hopefully this will help me be on track through Thanksgiving and before my first fill. Name, real or screen~ Jenn S Age~37 Weight on November 1st~232 Goal Weight for November 29th~226 Exercise Goal for November~Get back to walking 3 miles a day Dietary Goal for November~Stay on my surgeon's plan for liquids and mushies and protien Personal Goal for November~get my house organized Date Banded~Oct 27 11 Total Weight Loss Since Banding~2 total since pre op 22
  18. I am 5 days post op and have had those gas pains too. What really helped me was a heating pad on my shoulder for a while and then getting up and walking. Sometimes I put my hands over my head while I am walking and it would help a burp come out. I also used the gas x strips. It has gotten better every day. I still get them every time I eat or drink but not as bad as before. Good luck. Hopefully it will start getting better in the next couple of days.
  19. Hi! I thought I would check in. I am 4 days post op and I feel really good. I hadn't taken any pain meds until tonight and it's not horrible but I want to be able to sleep. I was able to move to some thicker liquids today and had some thinned cream of chicken soup. It was the best tasting thing I've had in a long time. I am just trying to focus on getting in all my protiens. I've had a few moments of hunger but they are easily taken care of with a few bites of yogurt or a protien shake. The hardest part is relying on others to take care of my sweet Charlie. He has been snuggling on the couch with me a lot. We went to a halloween thing this afternoon and I was able to walk around a lot. I'm really glad I'm doing this. My goal for the next few days is to start walking 15 min 3 or 4 times a day. The baby will be going to daycare during the day so that will let me get out. I hope everyone else is healing well and good luck to the Halloween bandsters. This was the easiest time I've ever said no to halloween candy!
  20. I was just banded Thursday and this was my biggest concern too. I have a 15 month old. He stayed the night with my brother and sister in law for the first time and he did fine. He has sat on the couch and snuggled with me a couple of times and seems to realize he needs to be gentle. I was really torn because I knew I was doing the surgery for him and also realized he wouldn't understand. I know that it will be hard but in a month he won't remember this time and I will be healthier for his lifetime.
  21. I was banded yesterday. The surgery went really smoothly. I was a little nauseous after surgery but once they gave me the meds I was good. I've been up walking a lot more and tthat is helping too. I'm ready to get healed and get on with life!
  22. I was exhausted like that for the first 4 days but on the fifth day my energy came back. Your body is adjusting to the diet.
  23. I got in 3 miles yesterday. I think I'm used to the liquids now and my energy is back!
