I can say that there is a lot less "padding" than there used to be prior to the surgery. Also, I have an easier time "trimming the hedge" since I can now see it!!!!

Seriously? that means when I get to goal I'll gain 13 inches..(400/30}..that can't be right, that would put me in the guiness book of world records for sure. Lmao

I have lost nearly 60lbs in 7 weeks!

Exactly one month ago today I was sleeved....I feel great! I am 21 lbs down as of this morning....I was hoping for more but have had a few stalls along the way My first stall was about 2 weeks after surgery but that was due to my period I think....I am trying not to step on a scale everyday, but find this to be more difficult than I thought. I guess its due to the excitement of seeing the scale actually move after years of it not budging. Just wanted to share my anniversay and small but huge to me success! Tricare says the MTF needs mor info before they can approve me for the VSG at the MTF. Any ideas of what I can give them that will help get this done? Tricare said Fort Gordon wants 6 months documented attempts of excercise, diets and meds. Doc has meds list so thats not a problem. Are they looking for food journal and excercise logs? I have a weight watchers thing with my wegh-ins on it from 2009, will that help? Any info would be helpful, just trying to get this done before my husband is unavailable due to military stuff at the end of this year. Thanks so much everyone!!!!!

O.k. I have Tricare Prime and see a civilian pcm. She is on board with me getting a vsg. She submitted a referral to tricare for me to have a vsg done at an mtf. Tricare denied the first one so she has submitted another a different way. Still waiting to hear. Can anyone please tell me how to get this done.... My mtf (Ft. Benning, Ga.) doesn't do the surgery so I am trying to go to Fort Gordon, Ga about 4hrs away. Does anyone know how to get this done. Tricare tells me they don't have anything to do with an MTF and the MTF tells me that the referral has to go thru Tricare. I am so frustrated and upset as this is going on 3 weeks of going in circles to get no where. My husband deploys in December and I really wanted this done by then. Please help me I am not sure where to go from here. I make a bunch of calls and just get transfered from person to person. Has anyone transfered MTF"s with a civilian pcm to get this done?

Just wondering if anyone had their VSG done in Fort Gordon at Dwight Eisenhower Army Medical
Center and what your experience was. I have my first surgery eval there in January 2012 and wanted to know what to expect, how was it.....any info.

Hey Spadesmcloven here is an example of my day, I find if I eat less I don't lose for some reason.....hope it helps!
7a.m. I have a protien shake made with almond milk for Breakfast. (26g protien)
10-11a.m. I have a snack sometimes a protien bar (atkins snack bars around 10g protien) or lt. string cheese with 4 whole grain crackers
12-1p.m. lunch small salad with grilled chicken breast, or 1/2 sandwich (turkey breast light mayo, 1 slice lf. cheese on whole wht. bread)
3-4p.m. snack protien bar (atkins) or yogurt
6pm dinner whatever I make the family (small portion though) example (grilled steak or chicken, grilled veg. and sometimes a half small baked potatoe)
8-9 pm I get hungry so I have like beef Jerky or something high in protien
I drink all day long Water, crystal light and have a cup of hot tea in the morning sweetened with truvia. I usually shoot for 64 oz. sometimes I exceed that and sometimes I only hit 50............

So it was last Monday I was sleeved and I get to start my protien shakes today. I have lost

been so hungry since Sunday and got tired really easy. So it will be nice to feel satisfied
for a little while. Things are going very well, I am healing nicely. I havent had any pain.
My worst pain was the day after surgery, the gas in my shoulder was like someone wacking
me with a bat but I walked lots at the hospital and that went away fast. I so enjoy reading
everyones posts aand just wanted to say thanks you all are an inspiration and have helped
in more ways that you could imagine.

Well saw my surgeon today and got my date.....I will be sleeved on Monday....yes this Monday March 12th.......so excited and so nervous as this will be my first surgery ever.......any suggestions for after? What to bring to the hospital would be helpful, surgeon said if all goes well I go home on Wednesday.....Please be praying for me.....

They have to move your over out of the way when they do surgery this just makes it easier...you can watch the surgery done on YouTube.....and welcome you guys I just got my date today 3/12 will let ya know how it goes.

Finally after being in Dominican Republic since July 27, 2011 I am in my own bed, back in the states with a few great improvements! I am sleeved, and I went from 368 to 270 lbs! Awesome things have happened since my last day in the airport;
1- My jeans went from not fitting at all (wouldn't go past my hips), to falling off when I walked. My grandmother had to take them in because they were falling!
2- All my shorts look like skirts from the back because they are so big on me, I went from 28-30 to 22-24; and my tops went from 4x to 1x.
3- I can weigh myself on a regular bathroom scale.
4- I don't have to walk sideways in the airplane aisle.
5- For the first time in years I didn't need a seat belt extension in the airplane.
6- The food tray went all the way down, my belly was not in the way.
7- I have never seen my mom smile so much after one of my arrivals ( I usually came back bigger not smaller).
So many victories and so many more to come! I love this sleeve, it is one of the best things to ever happen to me.

I have not yet been sleeved but I am just starting the process. I to have pcos ugh. I have spoken to a friend who has pcos and was sleeved 18months ago. She said her carb intake totaly controls her loss. She has got it down to a science for her body. She said if she goes above 19g of carbs she stalls. So I am thinking we all will have to play around with the amount of carbs we all comsume.....Good luck all and I look forward to joining the loser list soon!
