  1. Both my husband and myself had the lapband this year. His was in April and mine in August. We decided to tell my family and his family. No judgment what so ever from either part. To this day he hasn't tell anybody from his work even thought he has drop 98 lbs and its oviosly very noticeable. The only person that I regret telling is a "friend" of mine, before we used to see each other or at least call each other 2 to 3 times a week. But she told me straight out that she doesn't like to be the fat friend.
  2. Welcome !!!! I was banded almost 4 months ago. (8/19/11). And I love my band. Pre surgery weight 248 size 20 jeans, I'm now 208 and fitting into a size 14 jeans. (just got a pair from old navy) I'm working to get to 160. I'm 5'10. Good luck on your new journey.
  3. I know, I hate taking my liquid vitamins cause they have lots of calories. I take the ones from GNC
  4. I'm in your weight loss chalange for Oct. 2012. That's my birthday month. And we are planning a nice family trip for next year.
  5. I think the people at my kids Taekwondo class thought I was crazy, but your post made me laught so hard. I love your NSV I think is the best one I've read so far. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I think it depends of how big of a fill, my first fill I got 1.6 cc and the instructions were to do clear liquids for one day, more condense liquids the second day, and soft food the 3rd day. My second fill was 2.6 and I had to follow the same schedule but 3 days each stage.
  7. I on the other hand got a fill before the holidays, I had surgery almost 4 months ago and was afraid to gain the weight that I have worked so hard to loose.
  8. You can do it, and you will do it !!!!!! I was in the same set of mind like you thinking I wasn't going to break the 220's. Before the band with diets and exercise I will always seems to get stuck there, now I'm happy to report that I'm not out of the 220's and out of the 210's and looking forward to be out of the 200's.
  9. My surgery was 8/19/11 staring weight 248 lbs. as of this morning 208.4 and really hoping "and working out" to give myself a Christmas present to be 200 by Christmas day.
  10. Wow I was wondering the samething, I had my second fill on Nov. 19 and since yesterday I feel that I can't eat as much as last week.
  11. Wow !!! Thats amazing, congratulations
  12. My husband thinks is that still now a day there is discrimination against obese people. And also how you project yourself to the outside world, and that is what people persive about you. ( by the way he congratulates you on your weight loss. He is 43yrs old 5'11 and he is 251 lbs. down from 342 with a total of 91 lbs. as of this morning and size 38 jeans from a size 54.
  13. I think is that we project ourselves different. I actually had the same conversation with my husband (we both had the lap band) I was at the gym yesterday and I had 2 people at the gym in my Zumba class approach me and started a conversation. I think it's just our attitude, and how good we feel about ourselves.
  14. I drink coffee with "regular Flavor Cramer" every morning and at night. And I'm down 35lbs since my surgery on 8/19/11 but I do drink at least 64 oz of water. Coffee Creamer it's the only gealty pleasure I allow myself.
  15. I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia, it was my first surgery ever, and on top of the lap band I had my gall blader removed due to stones. So my surgery was a bit longer. I was nauseated, dizzy and vomiting like for 3 days. But just like you I had almost no pain. And as of today I don't retreat it at all. It has been the best decition ever. I feel great, I have tones of energy, I'm down from size 20 to size 16 in just 21/2 months.
