  1. I hate taking vitamins. I am pre-op and can do chewables. Which one is best? I thought about a liquid but they are so expensive. Are there any reasonable ones out there? Do I have to do liquid post-op? Thanks!
  2. Yup. All about carbs (and increasing weight loss).
  3. I know how you feel. How long you been on it? How long before / since surgery?
  4. 3 weeks on liquids. 2 protein shakes a day and 3rd meal of 1 cup of any non-cream based soup. I can have sf Popsicles and 1snack a day of either Greek yogurt or 1cup cottage cheese. Sf drinks, decaf coffee or tea and vegetable juice (no fruit juice). That's it.
  5. I am not allowed fruit or fruit juices on my pre-op diet. No cream based soups (tomato). Might (?) consider limiting those things too. Good luck. Cannot imagine he didn't give you a diet to follow!!
  6. My band to RNY is scheduled for the 20th of February. I'm anxious to hear how yours goes. I'll be following!!
  7. Count your blessings. I have 3 weeks!!
  8. Just occurred to me when checking out my vitamin samples.... Is your iron low and have you tried a B12 supplement??
  9. Wow you do have your hands full. Maybe you can get some help from women's group at church or family?
  10. You can do this. Try adding some things you are allowed but don't eat often. Maybe jello or Popsicles or an extra serving of soup. It helps me and I'm only on day 2 of my pre-op diet. Drink more liquids and read or do a craft to keep your mind off food. You CAN do this!!!! I'll be praying for you.
  11. I'm 60 and ready for my surgery on the 20th!
  12. Yup. Pro-active is the way to go. Nothing about what you said sounds right. Is there another Bariatric surgeon you can consult with? I'd sure try. I'll be praying for you.
  13. Hi soccermomma73. Put me on that list! February 20th.
  14. Lucky you! That's great.
  15. Prayed. My surgery is 20th! Will be praying all is covered and goes well. Blessings!!
  16. Ok so tomorrow is my first full day on my liquid diet BUT we are having our last lunch of wings. Confessed....and I'll be good thereafter. Anyone else "cheat" on their pre-op diet?
  17. My Dr says plan on 2-3 since I am having band removed and RNY in same surgery. Mainly to get swelling down from 2 procedures.
  18. Realizing your losses will be different at the start of your journey is half the battle. You also have to deal with hormones and slower weight loss as a result. Just do the best you can do and don't compare yourselves. You are different. Hang in there! And we are here if you need us to share your victories and support when you need that. You can do it!!!
  19. Ok thanks. I'll count my blessings. Guess it could be worse. Good luck all. I also start tomorrow.
  20. It's closer than November and YOU HAVE A DATE!! Awesome. You can do it. Got my date today of February 20th. 3 weeks on the very restrictive I'm on seems forever. What pre-op diet you on?
  21. I cannot believe it. Had my pre-op appt today. I can have 2 shakes a day 8 oz of soup and 1 Greek yogurt or cottage cheese or Popsicle for snack. I do this for 3 weeks til surgery. Seems a bit restrictive....? What pre-surgery diet are you on?
  22. What is the best tasting vanilla protein powder you've found? What about most interesting other flavor? I have some combinations I want to try and don't want to mess it up from the beginning by bad tasting protein.
  23. You still taking people? Ppeltz@yahoo.com
  24. Anyone know how to make an eggnog flavor?
