  1. My nut told me before my band surgery to make sure I get 120 grams a day. This was in the liquid diet weeks before surgery. I am seeing on here that most common is 60-65 grams a day. Is this correct? Seems real low to me. I get my diet in February.
  2. What about sharing with your husband or getting a take out to have several meals?
  3. I am having surgery late February. I am 60 years old 4'10 and weigh 265. I am worried that I'm going to look like a dripping candle! Has anyone had a similar situation? I guess those "youngsters" probably have more elastic skin.
  4. Interesting idea. I never thought of adding Greek yogurt to anything. I'm a purist. Just eat foods as they are. Thanks for the idea.
  5. Yay! Catgyrl68!! I am blown away by all the prep stuff. I only had one appt with my surgeon and now waiting for insurance approval then surgery date. BUT I have been their lap band patient for over a year so may be exempt from some of it because of that. I will have 2-3 weeks on pre-surgery liquid diet. Thanks for your help!!
  6. What is papaya enzyme for? Yours is first mention I've seen but I'm new here.
  7. I am awaiting a surgery date so I am ignorant on many aspects of my RNY now. Why the bowel prep and when? Pre-surgery I'm guessing? What other pre stuff is there?
  8. I am doing band to RNY probably in Feb. I'm waiting on insurance. What tips can you who are done give me? Appreciate the help!
  9. I have tried several protein drinks. GNC has one called Wheybolic (not the plain Whey!!) that does not have a nasty taste. Even my daughter likes it. Also the Bariatric Advantage are good. They have many flavors on their website. What about Greek yogurts? My Dr lets me eat these. Good luck!
  10. I am in the same situation. I have lots of sliming and not much weight loss. My surgery was 16 months ago and I've only lost 25 pounds and most of that was in the month pre-surgery. I don't know what to do. Feeling frustrated and need advice. Start over?
  11. Fortunately (or unfortunately??) I have never had any problems, PB, sliming, just once in a while hiccups. So I can't use that to tell when I've had enough. Not stuck now, just feeling very guilty and wondering if overeating has stretched out my pouch. Thanks for your help.
  12. Was banded 9/8/11 and I have had one fill. I have 5cc in my band.
  13. What is PB? What is slimed? I drastically overate today at lunch now I'm worried that I may cause my band to slip or burst or something. What should I do? Not preventedly, I know better. Drink more to chase the food down? HELP!!!
