  1. I'm now 9 days post op and doing good. No pain. Main probs are getting enough liquids in! And protein of course. Post op appt is in a week so I'm looking forward to phase 3 foods ( who would ever think I'd look forward to blended food? Lol). Glad to see there are more baby boomers doing this!!
  2. Thanks for the info. I will split my drink in two or 3 but at least it is a smaller amount. I am on liquids as I am 9 days post RNY.
  3. I have been using the GNC Wheybolic Protein and it has 60 g of protein (3 scoops not thick) in 12 oz of water. Great way to get all protein in one drink and the taste is tolerable. Do no recommend the plain whey as it has aftertaste and does not mix as well. Comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and cookies and cream. So far I've only had chocolate.
  4. I am 9 days post band to RNY. I am afraid of dumping and trying to understand what makes it happen. So is is just regular sugar? Can fruit sugars cause it? Am I to go banana and orangeless forevermore? And being type 1 diabetic what can I use to treat lows?
  5. I can't find other list for what I got in the search. Help please?
  6. Does any one know if our stomaches can hold only the same amount of liquid (soup) as food (cream of wheat)??? Seems I can eat more soup before I feel full.
  7. They didn't weigh me on discharge. Wonder if possible is why?
  8. Well I'm home! Surgery went fine. Minimal pain just can't get my oxygen up. I was discharged Friday 22nd (surgery 2/20) and literally at the front door when I got very dizzy and they ended up readmitting me for a day. I was sent home on oxygen this time. So no other complications. Just plugging thru the normal healing pain. Blessings to those having surgery this week. Count me ON THE LOSING SIDE!!!
  9. I'm up next!! Surgery is in the morning. Have to be there at 9:00 for 10:30 surgery. Got so much to do and didn't get my will done (no I'm not anticipating). Almost on the losing side!! Good luck and prayers for speedy recovery to rest of the week surgeries.
  10. My doc says minimum 2 weeks and he recommends 4-6.
  11. Well one more day on liquid diet and then SURGERY!! Cannot believe it is so close. Tomorrow is going to drag. Went to movie tonight with my daughter and the smell of popcorn was torturous. But the new beginning is in sight. Praying for you all.
  12. I start my pre-op clear liquid diet in the morning and surgery is Wednesday. I cannot believe it. Next two days at work are going to drag. So anxious to be on the slimming side!!
  13. Don, I looked at your pictures and you look awesome! Such a dramatic difference. You are officially a hottie! Great job!!
  14. Thank you for the encouraging words and congrats on sticking to it! My surgery is this Wednesday and I'm very anxious.
  15. You sure about the 30 grams? It seems too low. Most of us on here are at 60-90 grams a day. I'd double check. More protein helps you stay fuller feeling. Good luck.
  16. I agree its hard. I find that when I get all my protein in that I do much better because I feel full. Good luck.
  17. I got jello pudding strawberry cheesecake today and it was really good. And strawberry part was a sweet gelatin so no whole fruit which I cannot have now. It was very refreshing.
  18. The ice cream doesn't cause dumping?
  19. I am so glad you posted that. And so happy for you. One of my fears is I will lose weight and still not be able to walk or have energy. You encouraged me!! Thank you and congrats. My surgery is Wednesday!!!!!!
  20. Yes. Go back to your pre or post surgery diet long enough to kick start your loss again.
  21. Try Profect protein vials by Bariatric Advantage. They are 50g of protein 0carbs and fat in a 3.2 ounce vial. Almost a full days protein in 3 ounces!!
  22. Costco has one also. Really good.
