  1. What are "power foods?"
  2. I have many aches and pains also: hips, knees, lower back primarily. I am not letting them keep me home anymore. I hurt. I'm going to hurt but I will not miss out on things I want to do too. Just go. You're going to hurt. Maybe the excitement of being out with friends will help you forget for a few. It does get better the more you lose.
  3. I was severely constipated one week after surgery. Neighbor brought over milk of magnesia and it worked in 2-3 hours. Drink lots of water with it.
  4. Yup. Me too. I keep a bag at work for those snacky urges.
  5. You said you didn't get all water in this week. From personal experience I can tell you the weeks I get it all in, I lose. The ones I don't, loss is very minimal if any at all. Get your water/tea/ etc in. Crystal Light is a life saver.
  6. So excited for you! It will be great...plane and all. Relax. Enjoy. You have worked hard for this.
  7. When were you told you can take whole tablets or capsules?
  8. It only gets better from here on! I go for 3month post op tomorrow and its been easy going. Congrats on start of your new YOU!
  9. I was exactly in your situation before surgery. I could not walk or stand for longer than 8 minutes. I have also lost about 50 pounds. It may sound cliche but motion is lotion. My knees and hips and lower back used to hurt so bad. Walk. Walk till it hurts. Then push thru and it stops. Took me about 1/4 mile to get past the hurting. Now my lower back pain is gone and about 95% of my knee pain. I can walk now for over 1 1/2 hours and recently walked my first ever 5k. I am 60 years old. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!
  10. I know how you feel. Only days I get to 1,000 is when I eat chips or pretzels, etc or the like. And I don't want to go back to that. Anyone have any suggestions for upping calories without junk food?
  11. It absolutely makes a difference for me. It is so hard to get in more than 800 (on a good day!) but I have noticed that on those rare days when I get in closer to 1,000 I do have better losses. Must ALSO get in at least 64 ounces of liquid.
  12. I was severely constipated for a week. Took milk of magnesia and had BM in 4 hours. It comes in different flavors and generics.
  13. Walden Farms has a bunch of no calorie, fat, carb and gluten free stuff.
  14. Anyone can add me too. Ppeltz@yahoo.com.
  15. I look for substitutes when I miss something. Walden Farms products have been a life saver for me. I can still have Doublemint gum and as a matter of fact, the peppermint helps calm my stomach at times. Also try Eggface's website. She has so much to offer and wonderful recipes for WLS people.
  16. Yes! Music! That does. I also find I can eat more of some foods. Mamio I don't have much of that problem that's what concerns me! I don't want to go back to eating huge portions. Appreciate the help. Love to hear if anyone else has experience in this?
  17. I am almost 3 months post op. seems in the last week or so I've been eating larger quantities of food. Like close to 1-1 1/2 cups. I want my pouch small. How do I know if I've permanently stretched it out? Can it be shrunk back? Thanks.
  18. tea

I put Torani sugar free peach in mine. It's very good.
  19. I use generic for Nasonex. Works great and I'm highly allergic to grasses, trees and weeds. Need an rx but my surgeon gave me one for it.
  20. I only have the shorts. When I can afford it I may try spanx. They work fine for me under shorts or dresses.
  21. Can you put foods in a blender? Also eggs are high Protein too.
  22. Question/comment: you said you are 6 days out... Isn't that too early for eggs and cheese? First two weeks post should be full liquids. No soft til 2-4 weeks out. Maybe you should check with your doc and you need more protein to fill you up?
  23. I never heard of "no fruit til 75% of weight gone". Has anyone else gotten this instruction? Hope I didn't miss that from my doc. I am 9 weeks post and down 45 pounds.
