  1. I also think you are eating too little. I am going to be on 1000-1200 calories once I finish my pureed stage. Also remember that you may be replacing fat with muscle. Keep doing what you are doing at the gym, try upping to at least 1000 calories and the weight should start coming off. Also, are you losing inches? I found that when I used to stall (pre band) I actually lost inches instead and then after a while the weight would catch up. Keep us posted on your progress.
  2. sounds like you are too tight. Like Mis73 said, did your dr. have you drink water before you left the office?
  3. Are you taking all your vitamins? I take a mult vitamin, vitamin d and calcium per my dr.s orders. Wondering if that would help.
  4. I would stick closely to your dr.s orders. He is doing it for a reason. Everyones body reacts differently to the band. In order to get good results with no pain or damage to the band I would do exactly what he says. You have the rest of your life to eat real foods. Dont be in a hurry to get there.
  5. i can relate to every one of those "wonders". We will all be there someday because we have (or in your case will soon have) the right tool to get us there. Keep us posted on your journey!
  6. welcome Hopes and dreams! You came to the right place for support and motivation!
  7. I am not really a fan of Dr. Oz so I take everything he says with a grain of salt. I remember I was all excited about the raspberry ketones that he said were safe for everyone. I went to the health food store that sold them here and I talked to the owner. She asked me for a list of my medications and then went to her computer to check my list against her info. As it turned out it would be dangerous for me to take raspberry ketones because I am on an anti depressant. They would react negatively with my meds. Those were my pre banded days when I was desperate enough to try anything and everything to lose weight.
  8. wow, here in Ontario it cost me $16,000.00
  9. sounds like muscle weight to me. Keep doing what you are doing and the weight will follow. Losing inches is a very good thing.
  10. I had exactly the same feelings on day 5 and day 10 of my pre op and yes I did cheat. I have to admit I slept so well those nights after having some real food in my stomach. I had 1/2 cup of chili each time that my husband had frozen in portions for me for my pureed stage. He was away and I couldnt handle it. It didnt affect my surgery at all. The pre op diet will be a thing of the past soon and it will all be worth it. Lots of hugs coming your way.
  11. wont be long now before you are out of the 300 club! Keep up the good work!
  12. I had no pain either. Went shopping a few hours after surgery and felt great but a little tired. The gas pains werent bad so I didnt even need a heating pad.
  13. Welcome! Good to see another Canadian! I was banded on the 19th at SWLC.
  14. Lots of hugs coming your way for Monday!
  15. I was wondering the same thing because I am going to a wedding the first day of my soft food stage. It is a huge Portuguese wedding with many courses and then they bring out the seafood buffet at midnight.
  16. Lots of hugs coming your way for Monday! Let us know how you make out.
  17. Make mine a size large (right now I am a 2x) please! I can provide an extra tractor - we can have a convoy!
  18. Love all the tips and will incorporate most of them in my new lifestyle.
  19. I break my bp pill into 4 pieces because it is very large. I take all my pills with a cup of tea . I am off my stomach pills. Havent had to take any since having my surgery (and hiatal hernial repair). I dont get heartburn anymore
  20. I just checked the book I was given just before my surgery. It is called The-Lap-Band Solution by Paul O'Brien MD. It states that there is nothing that can be done to prevent erosion and that the chances of erosion are less than 1%. Also states it was more common years ago but has significantly decreased.
  21. congrats on the beginning of your new life!
  22. wow Dana - just noticed your ticker shows 49 lbs lost!!! WTG! I am going to start counting calories tomorrow when I begin the pureed food stage. So far I have been eating very little and it has all been liquids. I was told to eat 1000 to 1200 calories. My first post op appt is on Nov. 2nd. I am looking forward to it because I want to get the clearance to go back to the gym.
