  1. Walk, heating pad. It is the kind of gas that most things like Gas-x don't help. Try windmilling your arms as you walk. Congrats on the surgery, luckily, this phase passes quickly!
  2. So sorry. Now I am glad my doc insisted on drains. They were a pain in the butt and I hated them, but at least avoided this complication. Keep you positive attitude and this too will pass. Hugs to you!
  3. Long term you should have not trouble, but I would wait at least 6-8 weeks for full healing at the port site. If you need to dance sooner, then by all means ask you surgeon.
  4. Mileage may vary, is the unfortunate answer. I like some others here think you should consult a nutritionist, preferable one that is familiar with lap band surgery.
  5. Answered on other post.
  6. I had no problem with either the pre-op or post-op diets. I guess I just knew I had to do it and decided not to fight. I really wanted the band, so I was up for just about anything!
  7. Lots of good info here. If you have specific questions I am sure you will get answers from the folks on here.
  8. I did at first, and now that I can judge bite sizes I just use regular.
  9. Old article, old stats. Ask your doctor what his numbers are. I see far more successes than failures here, and trust me the failures yell the loudest. Keep in mind one of the number one causes of band failure is lack of patient compliance. You have to really WANT to succeed to be a success.
  10. The first couple of days are the worst. Try to move around and walk as much as possible to help with the gas pains, and be sure to get your liquids in!
  11. Set up a consult and talk to the professionals. But there is a lot of good information here that you should read and understanding before making a final decision. Pick a doctor with a support group, nutritionist, psychologist, etc to be sure you are properly prepared and supported for your journey!
  12. Time is our ally. If we do what we are supposed to do the band will help. I believe!
  13. It is worth the proceeds. I wish I had considered it earlier in life!
  14. I think it is the thing I ever did for myself!
  15. I had a binder when I woke up, then was allowed to go the Spanx route, Assets, sol at Target are cheat and made by the same people.
  16. I think scared and nervous is normal.
  17. Wonderful words from a wonderful lady!
  18. Every day gets better, and it is worth what you go through in my opinion. Hang in there. Hugs and prayers!
  19. If your doc did not give you a per-op diet, don't stress. It is unlikely they will peek and run!
  20. Also many sauces thicken up with time in the fridge. Add some water to these. Law of lap band idiosycracies... Just because it went down once does not guarantee it always will. All it takes is minor change in bite size or chewing. Good Luck!
  21. Cool, that may be the best way. Good luck with you new fill!
  22. Welcome to the forum! Happy to meet you! Don't be afraid, we don 't bite... Well not often anyhow!
  23. Best wishes.... our thoughts are with you. Let us know how you do after surgery! Prayers!
