  1. Try cottage cheese with that fruit!
  2. BeneFiber is OK. I used it a lot. If you still have problems Miralax was recommended by my nurse practitioner and seemed to work better for me.
  3. Type chewable calcium citrate in the Google search. Many site sell chewable calcium. Or, try Citrical Minis, they are much smaller.
  4. You will get there. As you heal you will get fills to help you. Right now it is on you to do what you know you should! Actually it will always be on you. Not to be depressing, but one thing I do know, stressing will make you eat more! So I'm with CarolinaGirl, STOP!
  5. Click on the arrow beside your screen name at the top right of the page. Then select My Profile Select Edit My Profile underneath the vacant picture select: Edit my picture. Good Luck!
  6. To anyone and everyone who belittles ANY weight loss by a member of this forum shame on you! We all work very hard, and every one is different. Don't attack respect for the commitment to make our lives better and healthier. End of sermon!
  7. Me too in my new skinny ass jeans!
  8. I would give it a try if you are feeling well. You may tire out and have to stop before the class is over, but do what feels right for you!
  9. I recommend the band highly. You can do it, but you will have to lose the ice cream fixation!
  10. OK ladies, let's give this topic a rest and try a new topic today!

Start at least one or two sizes down from whatever fits you best now. I did it hard way, one size at a time, and had to make multiple trips. Don't be afraid to show the new form, and wear clothes that feel snug. That does not last long! Go for it girl, you deserve it! Oh.. and by the way... you may need a new bra by now too, go somewhere and get fitted. What other people think is their problem no yours!
  12. What do you call all of us if not a support group. We are all here online and ready and willing to help. Use us!
  13. And I don't have far to come! It takes a long time to see yourself differently. Even now at times I see myself still at 256! Look for NSVs. Like getting into and out of the car, a booth in a restaurant. squeezing through spaces I did not think I would fit! You are doing great girl!
  14. I strongly recommend you buy Jean's book mentioned in her post above. I wish I had read the whole thing before I started my journey and I recommend it to everyone. No... I do not get a take of the royalties! :-) It is just a great reference!
  15. A trick for eating out is to ask for a take out box when they bring your food. Transfer all but your lapband approved portion into the container first. Then eat what is on your plate. Up side is another meal for later on.
  16. Keep the faith. If we can do it, you can too!
  17. Gas-X is a pill in the US that helps relieve gas pains. Essentially it is simethicone, which you could probably find in another form. Tired is to be expected. I am impressed you can make through a day as a high school teacher! Be kind to yourself at home and ask your family to help out so you don't have too much to do once you are home. It takes a while to recover from any surgery.
  18. This is a common problem. I am 1 year out from surgery and still need to take stool softener twice a day and Miralax once a week. I just discovered that using Stevia sweeter in my drinks works great. It is not unusual to go 5-10 days at first because of the low food intake. Keep up the liquids and as stated above, hang loose and relax.
  19. You may be eating or drinking too much too fast. That's when I feel I need to burp and can't cause there is no air there!
  20. Binders for about 6 weeks, and trust me they help. My doc said it was ok to take an hour or so break from them once in a while. Try Spanx/Assets instead, I found I tolerated them better, much smoother surface!
  21. I would give it some time. Often if you PB you strain muscles around the port. If the pain continues contact you doctor as soon as possible.
  22. I try to eat 4-5 times a day. Just eat slowly and gradually increase non-mushy foods. Be careful about the use of the word snack... most of us just eat more meals over the course of the day. Use healthy foods with protein.
  23. Depending on where your port was placed this is not at all unusual. I could always feel mine. They tend not to bury it too deep or it would be hard to find when time comes for fills.
