  1. Is the port site swollen or are you just feeling the port itself. On many people it does protrude, which generally means it will be easy to find for fills.
  2. Hang tough and feel free to tell the people around you to take their food elsewhere to eat. b NO torture is allowed!
  3. Manufacturers made the clothes sizes smaller, so us dumb females would buy them!
  4. I don't this this is quite the way it works. If you truly stretch your pouch it stays stretched.
  5. Sorry about your loss. Now pick yourself up and get back on the bandwagon!
  6. Cold turkey is the only way to go! Congtatulations
  7. My doc always removes all that is there and then returns it with the added amount.
  8. Weighing daily can mess with your head!
  9. Awesome! Happy Bandiversary!
  10. Be honest with your therapist and you will get through this. I am sorry your family is not a part of it and I know that must hurt. It is your life, and you have taken steps to make it better. Congratulations.
  11. So sorry this happened to you. I would definitely wait and do the fill under xray so there is no more searching around. This is only a minor setback, you can continue to lose weight without the fill if you focus on portion sizes. Put it behind you and enjoy the holidays.
  12. Pain meds and anesthesia can leave you weepy and causes hormonal changes. Everyone goes through a bit a second guessing themselves, I know I did. That said, the band is best thing I have ever done for myself and my health. This stage will pass soon and you will be able to eat your old favorites foods, in lower quantities.
  13. You have to stop. I know, it is easier said than done, but you need to train your body to accept the smaller amount of food. Bump up the protein content and try drinking warm liquids in between. You have to really WANT the band to work. Do or do not, there is no try. Soon yesterday and today will become last week and this week, at which point you have reverted to pre-band eating. Make the sacrifice for your health now!
  14. Congratulations on giving yourself the gift of health.
  15. Good luck on the rest of your journey. I have never been sorry about getting the band. And ask about plication when you see your surgeon!
  16. Great post Alex.. everyone should read the the whole book pre-op. Can you tell I hate surprises. Going into surgery confident in what I was doing made a huge difference to me!
  17. None of us are alone anymore. We have tons of friends who understand without being told what it is we are going through. Welcome, I am glad you joined us!
  18. It will come, just stay hydrated.
  19. Good luck, but the "have a little fun" comment causes me to worry about your commitment. Stick to your eating plan even without the band. It is a lifestyle change, not a diet!
  20. The goal is to eat until you are satisfied. Protein first, then veggie, then starch. Are you weighing and measuring your food? If eat to feel full, you will likely have overeaten. Try drinking something high protein in between, such as SF hot chocolate, sf apple cider, etc. If you are saying your first fill is not until Jan18th, then you may want to call for an earlier appointment. At this point you are in what we fondly call Bander Hell. At first, you are doing most of the work. The band will start to help after you start getting fills. In the meantime "Want Power," the desire to make this work is you best ally.
  21. And... she lived to tell the story! LOL
  22. Congratulations, you bust gave yourself the best present ever! Enjoy!
