  1. Thank your for the inspiration. Keep up the great positive attitude and go dance your a$$ off at the wedding.
  2. Congratulations!!! 25 lbs is awesome and you will definitly benefit from it. Not only because of the weight loss but also shrinking your liver for the proceedure. 100lbs here you come!
  3. Congratulations! I too am not as tall as you so I can not answer your question. I am sure I have seen other "taller" sleevers posting on the site. Keep on working that sleeve and you will be at goal in no time.
  4. I am not a year out but have heard others that are farther out say that yes you will be able to eat more farther out. That junk food goes down real fast (it is a slider). Have you been to a therapist to discuss why you compulsive eat? Maybe you should take up a hobby to busy yourself. Or just do not buy the junk food items (out of sight out of mind). I am sure the sleevers that are farther out will have some other ideas. Hope you get it figured out.
  5. Way to work that sleeve! You are looking good. I can not wait to shop in the regular stores.
  6. My drain incision was left open to heal on its own. I kept it covered for the first while with sterile gauze to collect the weeping drainage. Other than that it healed shut all on its own. Call your doc for what they want done. In the meantime you can get steri strips to butterfly it closed.
  7. You might want to ask your Doc as he would know better as to when you can start certain exercises.
  8. Spacing them out is better for absorbing them. Your Calcium try to get it in doses of 500mg and just an FYI Iron and Calcium do not play well with each other. They need to be taken a couple hours apart. Check your multi and see if it has Iron in it. If so space out your multi and your calcium and take your calcium twice a day or if you need more split it into 500 mg doses.
  9. What size of bougie did she have? Maybe it was larger and more of the stretchy part of her stomach was left behind. Ergo it stretched out. That is the only thing I can think of!
  10. Protein would not degrade that fast. It may over time (months or up to a year) but not in a couple of hours. Look at the premade proteins they have a best before date which means this is the length of time that the product will be what they state on the packaging. After that time there is the possibility of degredation of the product and it going "bad". I would not worry about making your drink and not fully consuming it for a couple of hours.
  11. Wow what a difference to look from your highest weight to where you are now! What an amazing journey. I think I have been inspired to take a face and body shot once a month to see my reduction in size . Congratulations on your successes!
  12. The pain will only be but a moment in time compared to the new healthy lifestyle you will aquire. Just remember that a few days of pain will all be forgotten when you are pain-free and working towards your goal. Only to be a distant memory.
  13. Have you tried just taking milk and adding a scoop of powdered milk to boost the protein? Might be what you need since the protein's make you gag. It may not be as high amount of protein as a Protein shake would be, but it would be more palatable. You could also add a tbsp of Torani sugar free syrup (insert your favourite flavour here). Hope you find something you like.
  14. Welcome Hip! fluids just go in and the out of your stomach a lot faster than any mushy or solid would. The stomach is for breaking down food and well Water or fluids do not need to be broken down. You may also be recovering quicker than others with yoru sleeve swelling going down fast. I too was a fast recovery. I found that I had no problem getting in 64 oz of Fluid in a day. Heck I could drink 1 cup (8oz ) of broth in a short period of time maybe 10 mins or less.I learned that it is best if you take small sips and take your time even though you feel you can drink faster. It is better for you in the long run to learn to slow down. Congratulations on your progress so far.
  15. Welcome Pasquini. I too was a lurker for a long time on this board and when I finally made the decision to have the sleeve I signed up to become a member of this wonderful group. I am close to being 2 months sleeved and it is one of the best things I could have done for myself. Keep us posted on your journey.
  16. Wow 67 lbs in 3.5 months!!! You are working your sleeve! You will be at goal soon.
  17. Oh and there is chat on this site. Just look up in the tabs its the opposite side from forums.
  18. Congratulations!!!! over 100 does sound awesome and you know what it is!!
  19. How can you have a poll if there is only one answer?
  20. Day 3 was the worst day for me! Lucky I was not heading home till day 4. So I kept the fluids coming but avoided any Protein so that there was no "accidents" on my way home. When I got home I found that my bowels needed to adjust to the protein. Took me about 3 weeks and then I have been "normal" as normal can be. Hope you are feeling better soon.
  21. Congratulations! I also love before and after photos. You are looking good.
  22. If you are sick I am pretty sure they will not operate. Especially if you are running a fever. Lets hope you get better soon!
  23. I was weepy and tired for the first little while. I still do get weepy at times but nothing like it was first out.I think it has to do with the increase in Estrogen that was stored in our fat cells and the body needs time to figure out how to work with the increase. I do get incredibly tired still at times but I lay down for 20 mins and then I am good to go. Hope you start to feel more like yourself soon.
  24. Where are you planning on getting your surgery? It might be best to ask the coordinator for that facility the dates they are booking for. Maybe you might want to pencil in those two dates if they are available with them. I sent in my deposit after I booked with Dr. Aceves. I can not remember how much time I had to pay the deposit after I booked the surgery. Might also ask the coordinator at the facility when they want the $500 deposit.
  25. Keep us updated on your situation! Hope all is well soon.
