  1. As some know already, I am having trouble with my teen son too. He has such a nasty attitude and smart mouth. I totally understand where you are coming from when they decide there are not going to do something or wear something.. etc. So frustrating! Good luck on your journey!
  2. I think the important part of doing a challenge it so keep you motivated! I didnt know what to expect I could loose so I just put 20 pounds and went for it on the Halloween one. I am still 4 lbs shy of that but if you look at the other side of it, I have lost 16 pounds! Had I set the goal at 15, I would be past it and i wouldnt be so motivated to loose the other 4! I like having something specific to work on that doesnt seem as daunting as the "whole enchilada". You can do this girl! Even if you fall a little shy of your goal, you are still losing and thats the important part!
  3. I went for 20 for Halloween but I am falling a little short of that (about 3 lbs or so). I started to go for 15 but decided I would do 20 again because I am hoping for less complications this time! If I fall short and only loose 15 or so, its ok! Thats 15 more toward my goal! I dont want to make unrealisitic goals but I feel strongly that if I really dig in and exercise, I can do it! You can too!!
  4. I decided since today is October 25th, we are exactly two months away from Christmas to start a challenge. I participated in the Halloween one and it worked out great. I have 6 more days of that one, but I am close to my goal. I am so excited about that, I want to do it again! Do you guys want to do a Christmas challenge? If so... I will start it off... SN--- Forensikchic SW--194 GW---174 CW--194 lbs to goal--- 20 For this challenge, the starting weight is what you start the challenge at, not your original starting weight. Good luck peeps and I hope we have a lot of people do this challenge too! I say shoot for the moon!
  5. SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Forensikchic.....210.............. 193.8............190.............3.8 Well, guys, I have 3.8 pounds to go and only 6 days to do that in! If I dont make it all the way, at least I got close! Good luck to everyone! We can do this!
  6. I have found that wearing some sort of spandex knee length biker type shorts under my jeans solved this problem. It may be that your pants are getting a little loose and drooping in the seat and your thighs are allowed to touch. If you have this type of shorts on, it doesnt allow skin to touch skin and you will be a lot more comfortable. I cant go for a walk on regular shorts. they have to be spandex so they hug my thighs and dont let skin touch skin. Even if I have to wear then under some other shorts or pants. I have always had fat thighs and this horrible chaffing problem. I hope this will help you too.
  7. I need some encouragement from people who are further out than I am. I saw my surgeon Friday for my 10 week follow up. He told me I was a little behind the curve because I had a kidney stone early on and also a bout with plantar fasciitis that is still going on. I am on week two of prednisone steroid therapy. He said that I was nearing the end of my honeymoon phase as I am almost three months out from surgery. I asked him my chances of reaching my goal of loosing 100 pounds. He told me that I could do it but it would be difficult because I was behind a little bit and the steroids will be working against me. I focused on the negative and have been depressed about it ever since. I want to be as successful as the next guy. I didnt want to hear that I am going to have a harder time of it or that I might not be able to loose all the weight. I want to hit my goal by 6 to 9 months out. I want to know from others who are further out than me, did you make your goal of 100% weight loss or very nearly and if you did special things to get there. I know the basic rules, Protein first and low carbs etc. but did you have to become a marathon runner to did you just walk a few miles a day, weight train, live in the gym or what did it take to make this dream come true???
  8. I had the wicked headache but it was from caffeine withdrawal! If you stopped drinking coffee, soda and tea and went to Clear Liquids, thats the answer to your headache problem. It will subside by tomorrow. I had it for about 2 days and then it got better and better. I dont drink caffeine anymore either because I went through hell for those days and its just not worth going back to it!
  9. I only had six days of preop diet too. I used muscle milk premade banana creme flavor as a meal replacement for breakfast and lunch and drank crystal lite and diet cranberry juice, water, etc. Went totally off caffieine and the headache was mean! I got to eat 3 oz of protein a night with non starchy veggies. That meal at night made it so much easier! I had talapia or chicken and green beans or something like that. I also walked two miles each day (required). I hope that helps. I lost 9 pounds in 6 days doing that and I was not so deprived because I got to chew for my evening meal.
  10. UPDATE: I have lost another 1.5 pounds since i post this just two days ago! I am just so thrilled!
  11. I started with those but they tasted bad to me. The regular pills are super tiny. They are not problem to swallow at all. My new PPI capsule I take is huge! I dont have problems with it either though.
  12. I did this too. you can find me by searching my screenname Forensikchic. I dont know how to post a link.. subscribe to me and I will you so we can follow each other!
  13. I am two and a half months out now and i have been experiencing nausea in the morning after the first sip of water. Doesnt matter if its cold or room temp. The first thing hits my stomach the nausea follows. My doctor prescribes me generic zofran. its a lifesaver. I take it with the first sip of water and then my PPI. I am good to go. My sleeve doesnt like cold things in the morning but as long as I have the zofran, I am Aok. Maybe you could ask for it for yourself. Its a very small pill and totally worth it to me.
  14. I think you need to calm down and dont work yourself up just before surgery. I know its hard to do but every person is different and surgeons have different protocols. It doesnt mean you will have a complication! Hopefully nobody will but we each have to weigh the odds and make the best decision in the long run for us! Hang in there, I am sure you will be fine. Calm down, do some deep breathing! You are on your way to a healthier life! The risk of the complications from living so unhealthy far outweighs the complication that can but usually doesnt arrise from surgery anyway. jmho
  15. SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Forensikchic.....210.............. 195.5............190.............5.5 I have about 5 pounds to make my goal! I am thrilled but scared since my weight loss is slowing now. I hope I make it! I only lost 1.5 pounds since last wednesday but I didnt think I was going to do that. I just kept staying the same everyday. Finally this morning, I was down some. I just hope it stays down and I keep losing. Good luck guys! We are going to make it!
  16. Wow girl! I am praying for you. We are sleeve sisters and I follow you pretty close. Maybe you will feel 100% better once they get all that fixed. Good thing you found out now! Thinking of you...keep us posted!
  17. I was trying to use this site but I cant find where it says if you continue to do what you are doing, you will be at goal in X amount of months thingy. Where do you see that type of information?
  18. Sounds like a good plan! I dont plan on it much and the times I have eaten it, It was because I didnt have much choice but I like that taco bell has a fresco menu and it is an option for me if i need it in a crunch. I wish you much luck and I look forward to following your success! Nice to meet you!
  19. I have a slightly different perspective since my surgery. I am following the rules, getting my Protein in first etc. but I decided when I had this surgery that I was not on a diet anymore, a lifestyle change instead and my days of deprivation and starving were over! I have been to taco bell once and got a fresco chicken taco and ate the middle out, only one small bite of the tortilla. I was satsified and it was good. There are lots of healthy people that are thin also and they eat where they want to, just not like we used to eat! I could put away a half dozen tacos and a nacho bell grande easy before this! I was always looking for that stuffed feeling as a sign I was full. Now i get that in just a few bites of the inside of a taco. I am looking to lead a normal life, like other normal healthy people and not eating any more fast food ever is not in my vocabulary. I dont advocate eating fast food all the time but occassionally, I think its fine. I am not saying this is for everyone. I respect you so much for deciding fast food is not for you anymore and doing what you need to do to be sucessful. I think we are all on our own journey and we have to find what works for us individually. I dont partake in fast food often but I dont want to live my life saying...oh I cant have that or having others decide for me. I hate that worse. My husband or coworkers will say... we are going to chilis..oh but you cant have that... now my coworkers dont invite me anymore. Of course I can have it. They have chicken, beef, protein choices all day long... I think I can make a good decision and i dont need them to decide for me what I can eat and where I can go. Sorry... got myself worked up over that. I say, find what works for you, eliminating foods or not and work your sleeve! I am proud for you that you are realizing the differences in how you ate before and how you dont have any desire to return to that lifestyle. Good going! Keep up the good work.
  20. Thanks for the encouragement. I am at least learning my triggers so I can manage them better. I am currently in my first stall I think. I lost 1/2 pound last week. That hasnt happened yet for me till this week. I didnt eat crazy, I just thought about it. I never had the three week stall so I guess its my turn. I hope next week is better. Good luck with your BF.
  21. When I eat a little fast, I tend to start burping even after two or three bites... thats my que to slow down. I will wait a few minutes, try a few more bites with time in between. I start burping again and i know I am done. I am not done on the first burping, just eating too fast. I can tell I have only eaten a couple of bites and I know I need a little more than that so I wait and then eat one slow bite at a time until I start that burping again.. Then I stop. I dont have the nausea if I do this. It seems to be my ques that I have learned to read. Good luck with yours. It takes time to figure out what your body is telling you but once you get it down pat, you will be ok.
  22. In high school and college I was a 34C, gained weight and went up to a 38C and remained there for a long time. I gained more weight in the last 4 years and went up to a 40C/D. I have lost 37.5 pounds and now my bras are too big. I cant get in all the 38C's yet but my 40's are too big. So I think its safe to say that my band size is going down but my cup size isnt yet. I have lost about 3 inches in my chest so far. I am waiting to buy new bras so I dont have to spend so much money on them. My hubby is always asking if I think I will loose my boobs. I am hoping they just return to the 34C I wore when I was younger, they just wont be as perky!
  23. I only took a week off too. I work in a lab but I can sit most of the time. I did fine, I was just a little more tired than usual. I got to park close to work for a week or two and that helped. Usually I have to park a LONG way from my office and walk uphill. I was not up to that a week out of surgery. The first 5 days after I was questioning my decison to go back so soon because i was so tired at home but i perked up on day 6 and I was ready come Monday. I just took it easy. I wish you luck and the time has flown by since I was sleeved August 8th! I am down 37.5 pounds already!
  24. My weight loss has really slowed too. I only lost 1/2 pound this week. I am really bothered by it but I think its just my body having to stop and think about it. I get between 500 and 600 calories a day so I know it not that I am eating too much or the wrong things or anything like that. I am exercising some and walking now. I think it just takes time for your body to adjust. I am hoping for a big loss this next week. I have had a lot of compliments and people noticing in the last few days though so that was a great NSV! I am doing my measurements again this week to see if there is any difference there. Good luck to everyone else... At least we are not alone in this slow down. Seems like we are all having some slow weeks not that we are a couple months out.
