  1. Could you have a stomach virus? I don't know how it would feel with a sleeve.
  2. Stress does crazy things to us. It can certainly stop our loss. About the hair...I swear surgery made me ridiculous amounts of leg hair. I've had my pits lasered so at least I don't have to worry about them.
  3. I think I expected the full liquids to be a continuation of the clears. It seems more like starting all over again. It isn't necessarily a bad thing just wasn't what I was expecting.
  4. Hmmm...that's probably it. The baby drinks Lactaid Milk. I re-made the shake with her milk. The first sip, sip was ok. After that no good. I think you are right. I am pretty swollen and that's my full feeling? We are having a luncheon tomorrow at work and we have a new catering manager that is strutting his culinary stuff tomorrow. My boss went to him and asked him to make a Soup for me and everyone else is having sandwiches. I wanted to give the shakes a try tonight because I didn't want to my soup tomorrow to be the first time I try full liquids. He is going to make me an acorn squash bisque with cinnamon and pumpkin spice. They even said they would strain it for me. (All they know is that I am on a special diet from "surgery"). I am definitely bringing some tupperware to bring it home with me!
  5. Tonight I tried full liquids. I have been on clears. I made an
  6. Thanks ladies! It is nice to know I am not the only one. The great thing is that because of my sleeve I am still on clears and haven't deviated. It is proving to me that this was the right decision because I would have caved Day 2 without it. I'm not necessarily hungry. It is more like an empty or unsatisfied feeling. Kinda like clears just aren't filling enough no matter how much of them I have. I got some Isopure clear this morning in the hopes that adding some Protein will help. I got the apple flavor and mixed it half and half with Water. I added a packet of Apple Pear Archer Farms and so far it is going down pretty well. It is Day 9 and I can do this for a couple more days. I think I can...I think I can...I think I can!!
  7. Yay for you both! Glad you are doing so well.
  8. You are right about the cleaning. Those ladies were cleaning non stop. I think they cleaned my trash can twice a day!
  9. That is fantastic that you quit before. The sleeve seems to be a good motivator for quiting our vices!
  10. Dr. Aceves requires 10 days of clears, 10 days of full, 10 days of mushy/puree, THEN solids. I am wrapping up day 8 on clears and I don't know how you didi it. I really need some tips or something. I found myself staring at hot chocolate mix tonight wondering if somehow it could be considered a clear?! I feel so empty! How did you guys do it?
  11. I hadn't heard this either but I have 5 boxes of almond milk waiting on me to get out of the clear stage!
  12. Ohhh NO! I laughed so hard I had to hold my incision! I can just picture myself walking around the hospital smiling at everyone with huge sharted granny panties around my ankle! Poor little Hello Kitty on my drawers will never be the same.
  13. Hey! I am doing as well as can be expected. LOL! Every day I feel a little better in the soreness department and a little worse in the fatigue area. I started back to work yesterday (and boy did they miss me!). Thankfully I have a mostly desk job so it isn't so terrible. You are SO right about the talk on good food choices. He probably said that 5 times. "It is a tool and you have to make good choices. It will only get you halway there." I remembered him saying that one day you may be able to eat a quarter of a cup of something and the next day you can eat a half a cup of the same thing but the day after that you could only eat two bites. He said it happens so please don't let it freak you out. Listen to when you are full. LOL! They are all so amazing. I sent Gaby an email today asking for Ernesto's email address. He gave it to me, but I can't find where I put it. Everyone there was so sweet and I kinda miss it. I know it is crazy to miss a hospital, but it was really great to be pampered - even if it is after having your stomach cut out!
  14. I am in a constant state of butt pucker. I come home at lunch so I can sit back and relax on the terlet in peace! I'm 8 days out now and I only go 2-3 times a day, but when I go there's a lot of thunder and very little lightnin!
  15. Hey Cathi! I remember him saying fingernail size pieces and put the fork down between bites. He told me "cut a piece, put it in your mouth, put your fork down, chew chew chew, swallow, talk to your friend, put another bite in your mouth. I thought it was funny that he assumed I would have someone to talk to outside of a two-year old! Hope this helps?
  16. You could also try Relpax which is in the triptan family. My heart rate went too high when I took Imitrex, but it does have a lot of options on dosage. I prefered the Imitrex injections because they are fast acting and I don't have to worry about my sleeve.
  17. Tonight marks the end of night 7. You guys were right...my "zest" for clears is greatly diminished. I've got 3 days and I get to go to glorious full liquids. I'm so excited I can't stand it. A couple of days ago I was getting cocky thinking that clears aren't that bad. Well, let me tell you...2 days later and I'd be happy if I never see another popsicle or Jello again. I've been reading Eggface's blog and it is so good! I've been splurging on buying Torani syrups and getting Protein shake samples. Come on Day 10!!!
  18. This is the best thread ever!
  19. Has anyone heard from her? I think she was scheduled to have surgery with Dr. Aceves yesterday?
  20. HA HA! I'm a dork! When I crushed them, I noticed that there were these little round balls inside. I kept thinking...well that's dumb if I have to crush it then why did they put these little balls in here? Well now I know I don't have to crush them! I'll just blame that on anesthesia.
  21. In hindsight, I don't think I could have made the trip home any easier. It was just a necessary evil. I got to the airport early so I was able to take an earlier flight. I got through it and crashed in the bed when I got home. It's day 6 and I feel a little more energized. I didn't need a nap today and I took both of my final exams. The hardest part has been keeping the baby off mommy's "boo boos". Onward and upward my Sexy Mexies!!!
  22. I bought a ton of Nexium Mups when I was in Sexy Mexi. For some reason I thought they would be a powder, but these are tablets. Is everyone crushing the tablets and mixing in something?
  23. I know everyone has already told you this is normal. It may or may not help. I went by myself too and was scared. What helped calm me down was thinking through why I made this decision in the first place. It wasn't on a whim and it wasn't uninformed. Many of us have done more research on WLS than on anything else in our entire life! I was more prepared for WLS than I was my emergency gall bladder surgery (where I never even MET my surgeon nor did I have a choice who did it). I was more prepared for WLS than to buy my first house, get married, and having a baby. So take a deep breath and have faith in yourself that you are making the right choice because you couldn't have come this far otherwise.
  24. I am drinking a SF warm apple cider with a teaspoon of SF caramel syrup. *clear heaven* I didn't think I would be this happy with my selection of clears at 6 days out. Four days until I get to almond milk and Protein shakes. I can't wait!!!! (I really hope sleeverella likes almond milk!)
  25. I am trying to get down an Isopure with some Crystal Light added in. I think I am going to switch over to the Powerade Zero. From what I have heard, they electrolytes are better for me now than the protein.
