    Swimsuit Season

Girl I am with you. I have lost 41 lbs soo far I was sleeved Nov 22, this weekend I tried on my old size 12 pants and they fit ( i wore these pants 4 years ago) and I didnt have to lay on the bed and zipper them up with pliers.. LOL I have been on a clothing "HIGH" all weekend. It feels soooooooo wonderful. As for the bathing suit, I am going on a 12 day cruise around Italy in June so I will have to be rocking a cute bathing suit. CAN NOT WAIT. I am hoping to be in a 10 by then. These little mile stones are soo worth it. I have not regreted doing th surgery one day since I did it.. good luck with your weight loss.. This is an amazing rid T

I put my protein drinks in the freezer and get them really cold and that helps alot, these are the only things I drink cold everything else is at room tempeture, also drinking through a straw might help some. Good luck

    Alcohol

Thanks ya'll for your input.. Think I will try the vodka and cranberry juice and take it slow..
  4. Hey there I am hoping ya'll can help me , I am 2 months post-op( down 34 pounds, YA MEEEEE) and doing GREAT. I have been very fortunate to not have any problems with eating or nausea or acid refux. My husband is coming home this weekend from Afghanistan and we are planning a "honeymoon weekend" downtown and I am wondering what alcohol drinks I will be able to drink. In the past I have always been a Miller Lite girl , but everything I have read said beer does not usually do well with the sleeve. So what about Captain and diet coke( again what about the soda issue) . I know we will be having a few drinks and I would much rather not have the "bad stomach" issues , so I would appreciate some ideas of what would be ok to drink. Another silly question, have you found that you get "drunk"faster after the sleeve,? I also dont want to get sloppy drunk early in the night. I obviously have not had a drink since I was sleeved. Thanks for your input. T

    Alcohol

hey I am not a big wine drinker , but I do like idea of vodka and Cranberry juice. I am actually doing great with not "mood" eating, its been pretty easy so far, you will be amazed it takes very little to fill you up. I have learned to not put the foods that will make me want to snack in the house. I will be having a" double wammy" soonmy son will also be in Afghanistan by the end of the month.. Wheew.. Thank the lord I did get sleeved ...LOL . Good luck

    The Dr. debate

I had Gastric Sleeve with the OCC , Dr. Ortiz. I think he is amazing. He and his staff are very friendly and the facilite was wonderful. I got better care when I was there than when I had some plastic surgery in US 5 years ago, they took great care of me. I would HIGHLY recommend the OCC. T

My recovery went pretty well I flew to Tijuana and had surgery at OCC with Dr. Ortiz( who by the wasy was great as was the facility and staff would highly recommend them) I honestly havent been hungry my tummy will rumble then i go drink protein drink or water and it goes away. I will say I am ready to eat some food but have to wait until Dec 13 for mushies, I am sure those mashed potatoes will never taste soo good. I had my 14 year old daugter for support but honestly my recovery was very easy , never had nausua , YOu will get through it great just do what they say Drink and walk alot.. dont chicken out you will regret it if you do. Absolutely.. how have you been doing. Have you started your pre diet yet. I havent, My best friend is getting married in a week so weve had lots of showers and parties so I figured I would start after that. I have found my self eating all of my favorite foods and too much of them.. LOL.. so i really need to get on track. I have not been on here in a while I was kinda freaking myself out readying too much about everybodys issues so decided to stay away. hope your doing great.

    Any Novembers yet?

  16. Hey there... I think I have been on this site atleast once a day, I am putting my deposit down on my new life next week.. I have decided to have my surgery at OCC with Dr. Ortiz the week of Thanksgiving. I am soo excited yet sooo nervous. I have ALWAYS struggled with my weight... I would loose 10... 20.. 50 pounds to ALWAYS gain it back.. IT SUCKS.... Then I get the joy of adding Menapause to the mix at 41 ( whew no one tells you how fun that is going to be) I had originally thought about doing the Lap Band , but A good friend of mine had hers fail( she eventually did gastric bypass) Sooo gastric sleeve here I come. My best friend is going to meet me there, she is in California and I am in Georgia and my husband will be in Afghanistan( he is behind me 100%) . This site has been soo helpful, I have found answers to things I did not even know to ask, so thank you everyone for being so honest. Now if the next few months would fly by I would be a happy camper. I look forward to getting to know ya'll .
