  1. My heart goes out to you and yours. I agree..... you are among friends here. You should see if there is an armed services help center of some sort in your area. Use your resorces. There should be something. You and your husband will be in my thought s and prayers.
  2. Great Job. Keep up the good work.
  3. I was banded yesterday. The dr said I have lots of air inside and I would hurt for a few days. Besides gas-x and walking around the house, is there anything else. The pain is bad.
  4. So everyone is right.. The gas pain is the worst. The surgery went well. They found a hurnia (sp?) so they fixed it while they were in there. If this gas gas would go away I would feel fine. Walk ing helps for sure. Oh and I was VERY thursty for a long time. Sips so you dont choke. Caughting is the worst. Good luck to all.
  5. Well, I have to be at the surgery center in 1 hr. Everyone in the family is still sleeping and I am about to go get ready. I feel good except I want my morning coffee. oh well. Its just 1 hr right. I am looking forward to getting this process started. Im sure I will be fine, but wish me luck anyway.
  6. I agree with everyone. I am also a self pay. My surgery is this morning in.........wow...... 1 1/2 hrs. I am still a little scared. However, I know that this is what I need to become healthy for my family and for myself. My mom had a massive stroke 5 yrs ago and lost 35% of her brain mass and it was mostly caused from her not taking care of herself. I dont want my family to go thru that. I know that if I cant be good for me first, that there is no way I can be good for them. Its funny how our mind can play such tricks with our emotoins. Follow your gut. What is it saying to you. Its ok to be selfish if its for the right reasons. Good luck with your journey.
  7. I did the same thing. I lost 5 lbs the first 5 days and gained 1 back today. I have my surgery tomorrow. Keep your head up. It will all work out.
  8. I am looking forward to it. You know I was a st mgr at Victorias Secret for years and could not buy a thing there. I am soooooo excited to walk in there with my coupons and credit card. :Banane20:

  10. So I had a thought last night while I was trying to go to sleep. Let me start from the begining. I get marrried first of last year. As I think back to planning the wedding I am feeling now about what I felt then. You plan and plan. Get all your ducks in a row. Then you wait. Your day finally comes and you are just ready to get it done so you can start your new life. Once the ring ( band) is put on, the real work begins. Just like marrage, the band is going to take some lifestyle adjustment, some successes, and some struggles, but it is totally worth it. My work will begin on Thursday, 8-4. I am feeling all of this and just wanted to share. I am looking forward to my banded life.
  11. I thought the same thing. too funny.
  12. k. day 2 . the gas is better, but not good. I did 1 less protein shake today an dI dont feel like I am going to explode. Maybe it will be better tomorrow.
  13. I have heard that the aftercare is very important. Good luck with your journey.
  14. I know I cant take any anti inflamitorys, can I take imodium to stop the runs?
  15. So I started my liquid diet this morning and everything was going great till about 6 pm. I got the worst gas I have ever had. It was followed with a small dose of the runs. I cant do this for 5 days. Any thoughts?????????
  16. I start mine tomorrow. I am liquids only for 5 days. I get banded on 8-4. I tried Truvia today on my strawberries. Tomorrow I will put them in the blinder w/ my shakes. Truvia was better than I thought it would be. Good luck with your journey.
  17. We ended up at Outback. I thought I did pretty good considering. I tried not to let my brain control the meal. I had a salad w/ no dressing, baked potato w/ no sour cream, and a steak w' crab legs. It was GOOD!!
  18. keep us updated. I go in 1 week from today. good luck with everything.
  19. I am starting my liquid diet on Saturday morning. I went to the store today and stocked up on what I think I need for 2 weeks. We are going out to dinner tonight since it will be my last meal out for a while. I WANT A STEAK. I'm thinking either Outback or Texas Land and Catle. Not sure? What did you eat?
  20. Tks for all the great sugestions. I have talked about a lift already. I think that should be my gift from my husband to my husband. hehehehe.
  21. .that is sooo great. We just got married last May. I pretty sure that I could not talk him into another wedding so soon. Good luck. Im sure those pics you will share.
  22. SO, I get banded on 8-4-11 and I have 75 lbs to loose. I want to come up with a reward for myself for when I reach my goal weight. Has anyone else done this? I was thinking a cruise, or a vacation somewhere. I NEED SOME SUGESTIONS. WHAT DID YOU DO??
