About Me
I'm 33 years old. Mother to a beautiful daughter. Wife to an amazing man. I was banded back in 2011. In my honest opinion, it never worked. I was stuck from the beginning. The progress I attained was due to my own efforts and unfortunately, like the reason we all consider surgery, those results didn't last very long. I hit a wall and my body just fought to keep the weight on. I look at the band as a placebo. You think it's doing something but, in all actuality, you're really doing the work. At least, that's how it was for me. It's not like that for everyone and I recognize that. I was in pain a lot with the band, and still am a good bit of the time. I have reflux and pain in my esophagus. I get stuck on healthy foods, which doesn't stop me from eating them but, it does add a layer of discouragement to the equation. I am looking to have revision surgery to a duodenal switch. I have found a surgeon and looking to start the process soon. I am hoping for a quick process. Thankfully, I am 100% covered through insurance. Stay tuned in for updates from my journey, if you 'd like.
