  1. My BMI was 40 at the time of surgery. After looking at a ton of tickers (and a comment from my surgeon), I expect to lose an AVERAGE of 10 pounds a month. Hope this helps.
  2. Sorry for your loss, Lissa. I would be in shock too. No doubt. All are good ideas. I just want to reiterate what Susan said. Surround yourself with friends and family or call them often if they are not around. This might be a good time to invite them over to your new house.
  3. Oh my gosh Happy Life! I had never heard of your complication either. Seems like you picked a good surgeon. Thank goodness for that! Your attitude is amazing. I am sending tons of good vibes your way!
  4. Nice! I will add pancakes to my menu. Thanks to both of you!
  5. Your surgeon or primary doctor should be able to help by prescribing an H2blocker, an antacid or a Proton Pump Inhibitor. Keep trying until you find one that works. It might take a few tries, but it should help a lot. Also you might want to document exactly how much Protein and liquid you are actually taking in. Sometimes we think it is more than what it actually is. Many of us here use myfitnesspal.com Best wishes!
  6. Great ideas. Can you please give more details on this one?
  7. Glad to hear the leak is healed!!!!!! I don't know anything about fistula (only the one on the Oprah Show and I know that is different than yours). I hope it can be taken care of by your surgeons and you can finally move on to liquids.
  8. This confirms the requirements are not the same for each policy. I have Aetna PPO and did not have to lose 5 percent.
  9. LOl I bought all the ingredients for the beef Tagine but haven't made it yet. Most likely tomorrow. I will let you know. (I know it will be good though).
  10. The banana flavor is delicious to me. I used a few on my surgeons version of "full liquids".
  11. Peacequeen! Aw shucks! So sorry to hear this friend! Lots of good vibes your way.
  12. WOW!!!!!! What an amazing transformation! Congratulations!!!!!
  13. Since you got sleeved so recently I think carbs like mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, yoghurt , soft vegetables, stewed fruits, apple sauce etc will go down much easier than pasta, rice or bread. Best wishes!
  14. Me either, thank goodness. 4 weeks for coffee.
  15. You are probably not a slow loser. Not eating at all some days and only eating 500 -700 calories when you do eat, is most likely the problem. I am not an expert though. I suggest you post a thread about this and others will chime in. Best wishes! Better yet....call your nutritionist.
  16. Thanks for sharing! I saved it.
  17. 6 weeks out and I have been through some of the expected struggles we read about on this website day in and day out. Mild reflux so meds had to be changed, nausea on the 4th and 5th week and it ended up being my CPAP machine, drinking, eating, taking meds is still a full time job etc. No complications as of right now. Hope this helps.
  18. I was also hungry the first few weeks but I sipped all day long and that helped. I mean ALL DAY LONG! lol The best though, as others have said, was definitely broth. I couldn't stand canned broth, but homemade (very well seasoned broth) was heaven. I was allowed sugar free popsicles during full liquids and that helped too. Sip, sip, sip and you should be fine.
  19. Can't wait to live life to the fullest! Thanks for the encouragement. You look wonderful.
  20. I had a similar experience as Wishes's mother. I hope you hear back from your insurance really soon!
  21. Also remember that you gained the weight back with all those other diets. If you think about it, the "magic" of this tool is that we have hope of keeping it off FOREVER! Rapid weight loss would be awesome (I haven't lost weight in 10 days so I know the feeling), but the biggest prize would be to never gain it back. Right?
  22. I'm not Lissa but i can answer your question. The world according to Eggface blog is not on this website. Below is the link : http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
  23. LOL Will do! Thanks for this last recipe. I am actually heading out to the supermarket now so I will be making one of your recipes in the next few days! I will keep checking this thread anyway in case you feel like adding new things (tagine or not). I will check out your page on Facebook as well. Take care!
  24. I started out with an H2blocker that didn't work. Was then given a PPI but my mild symptoms continued. I supposed because it takes time for it take effect and also PPIs don't work for everyone. So I researched and read about combining PPI & antacid. My surgeon said it was ok and prescribed a liquid antacid. I didn't use the antacid for a day and the symptoms came back. Any suggestions or comments from anyone are welcomed, of course.
