  1. Don't sweat it. I have been losing V E R Y slowly and now a almost a year out I'm down just over 50 lbs. slow and steady...
  2. Yikes!! I was glad my surgeon used glue. Lol Hang in there and welcome to the journey!
  3. Yeah, I was a little embarrassed for you too...
  4. Oh... and I have another appointment before the other insurance kicks in so I'll talk to my doctor then. I just don't want to get filled "just in case" and be too tight. I've been filled too tight twice already and it's no fun at all....
  5. Thanks everyone for the replies! I guess I'll wait with fingers crossed!! X (that's crossed fingers.. lol).. If not, a few hundred bucks a pop isn't so bad. I've had 4 fills already (so bad about keeping this updated!!)
  6. Awesome! Great suggestion! Haha.... Read the directions. Guess ya have to be a newbie at one point or another!
  7. Want to start adding weights in addition to my cardio, but where to start? How much weight? Which machines?!? Lol.... I'm so confused!
  8. I took a new job and will be switching insurance on May 1 through my new employer. Will the new insurance cover my fills?! Anyone go through this before?
  9. Hi everyone! I LOVE Dr. Minkin.... please e-mail me if you want a "band buddy" I'm 30, was banded June 2011, down about 45 pounds and live in Mid-county area... SCNG@aol.com
  10. I had my very first bubble tea a few weeks ago. Drank it through the straw and even did fine with the gummies and my band can be very finnicky.
  11. So.... in my neverending Quest to find a palatable Protein powder/shake... I think I've found a brand I can live with. The brand is "Nectar" and they have fun flavors like Fuzzy Navel, lemonade, lemon tea, pina colada, cherry, etc.... a MUCH needed break from the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Has anyone else discovered this? I got it at The Vitamin Shoppe.
  12. Hi John, I think it has to be a personal decision. The best thing you can do is to research, research, research. I don't think the doctor said it to be offense or anything. Maybe it's an option you never looked into and now would be a good time? Just my 2 cents. Good luck to you no matter which way you proceed.
  13. I gained when I started solid foods too. When I went in for my first fill, I was up .2 pounds from the day of surgery... I was NOT happy. But, now (about a month later) I'm down about 18 pounds. It's slow-going overall, but I think that's the best way to go.
  14. I also have 5 incisions. This was absolutely NOTHING like the bikini-cut incision I have from my c-section and healing was nothing like that... MUCH easier.
  15. Never feel it. I had stomach pain after surgery, but that subsided after about a week.
  16. I know it's bad, but when I get stuck, I throw it up to relieve the pain. So... when I do get stuck, it's not for long.
  17. My doctor suggested just generic vitamin E lotion if I was worried about my scars. I haven't gotten any so I guess I'm not too worried. lol
  18. I can't wait to bid farewell to Lane Bryant!!!! 2 more sizes to go and I can be "regular" again!!!
  19. Same here.... if I drink when I eat, it all comes back up... not very fun!
  20. Ahh... explains it!
  21. I can eat chicken and turkey deli meat just fine.... when I eat beef... I throw up. What in the world? I had the same serving size! lol
  22. Just wondering why we have to drink so much water!!! lol
  23. I'm sorry to hear that. Given time, things will settle down. Just focus on your journey to become healthy.
  24. Yes, it usually happens if I don't chew well enough or eat something I really shouldn't.... amazing how that works, huh?
