gette2751 got a reaction from racheal218 in How Longs Is Your Pre-Op Diet?
No enema, but after 2 week pre op diet I had 2 days clear liquid and then today is my surgery eve and I had to drink a bottle of laxative this morning...yuck! I feel a little weak but super excited!
Hang in there! It does get easier and days will go by faster. I did cheat one day of my pre op and felt so sick. Now I've been on Clear Liquids 2 days and am having no problem feeding my son Cookies. I just try to keep in my mind how I feel being the size I am and how much better I will feel after my surgery...and thank god it's at 5:30am in the morning tomorrow lol! Keeping you in my prayers, stay strong you made it this far and yo are so close *hugs*

So.. I had surgery on March 10th.. I was so incredibly nervous going in (always a little scared about anesthesia). Procedure went well, woke up in PACU and my O2 sats were on the low side. Had a really hard time waking up. I was not conscious for more than an hour that first day.. I got up to use the restroom and back to sleep. Could not keep my eyes open!!! (this may have been due to the 2mg dilaudid I was given!! post op)
So on POD1, things were rough, I was in a lot of pain--not surgical mind you, but stomach. Once I started taking Omeprazole regularly, that pain went away.
So here I am POD 11 and things are going wonderfully. I am adjusting well to my new stomach and learning what I can and cannot do. It is still so hard to slow down when eating... I was so used to eating fast, it is a hard habit to break. Drinking is getting easier as I don't have to sip, I can take a real drink now. If I find I am low on fluids, I'll have a popsicle or 2 to help bring that number up.. Today I actually got about 58! Gms Protein in.. How exciting
Would I change anything?? On POD1 I would have cancelled sx.... But today.. I feel better, I am lighter and I am going to live longer. Dr. Westmoreland has given me the tools to change my life-it's in my hands now!!!!!
Good luck to all still waiting for their March Surgery!!! Congrats to those already sleeved and doing well
    -19 pounds post op!!!!

I was just sleeved on 3/5, but I have already realized that this is an issue. I'm honestly not sure exactly what works as "a replacement"...but I know that I have turned to this site when I feel that urge to eat something that I shouldn't.... Just getting on here and reading about other's struggles makes me feel normal, and boosts my spirits.
Good Luck to you, and take advantage of this site!
