  1. Getting on the plane in just a few short hours. Surgery is at 7:30am tomorrow! At the beginning of the month it felt so sloooow, and now it suddenly is here. Yikes! I still have a bit of a cough and hope that won't be a issue in moving forward with the surgery. Of course, the last thing I want to do is cough after I have the band either.
  2. This is the week! I am happy that my Dr. only requires me to do the pre-op diet for 4 days which I am starting today. There is a heat wave this week and I am kinda happy about it as I will not be so hungry due to the sweltering heat. (at least I hope that is the case) I am taking the red-eye on Thursday night to Toronto for my Friday morning surgery and so far I am more happy than scared. The only thing that concerns me right now is that I have a terrible cold with chest congestion, I only have 4 days left to beat it, or I am afraid they will cancel my surgery. "sigh"
  3. I too am in the same boat! I have my surgery scheduled for this Friday, the 22nd. I have a terrible cough and chest congestion. I have 3 or 4 different cough medication now and gotta beat this thing ASAP!!!
  4. Best of luck Shauna! Let us know how it went once your feeling up to it.
  5. What a great response! I am starting my pre-op diet in 1 week and I am nervous about it because being hungry has derailed all of my diet efforts in the past. I will keep your comment in mind when the hunger monster in me tries to take over!
  6. I wonder if getting stuck is something that happens to everyone? I am getting banded on July 22nd and my biggest fear about this whole thing is Getting Stuck!
  7. I know exactly how you feel. I told the one person that I thought would be completely supportive given she has struggled with her weight her whole life too. Her reaction was so negative, that I told her I changed my mind and have not told anyone since. I had my gall bladder out last year and so people think that I am going back in for surgery due to something of that nature. I have become addicted to this site and it is a wealth of support and advice. I am getting banded on the 22nd and can't wait for the journey. Good luck and feel free to message me anytime! Ally
  8. Best of luck Alygurl! Let us know how it went as soon as your up to it.
  9. Congratulations! Hoping for a fast healing process for you.
  10. Wow it's the month! I can see it on the calendar now and I am so ready. Good luck today to our first batch of July 2011 Banders!!!
  11. Hi Everyone, I am getting my band on July 22, in Toronto. I am counting down the days!
  12. That's what I want to hear!! While I am so excited about this, some of the stories in this forum can be a bit scary. Do you experience some of the symptoms that I read about here such as throwing up, reflux, etc? How do you manage them if you do?
  13. Hey! I'm from Alberta. I have my surgery scheduled for July 22 and I can't wait!
