  1. Congrats, keep up the great job.
  2. Congrats on getting everything going and good luck on your journey.
  3. If someone ask how I have lost weight I tell them about the surgery. I live in a small town and have all of my life. So people have seen the weight fall off real fast so they know something is up. I too feel like if we are truthful with people it may help someone make their minds up about having surgery.
  4. Congrats on the new job, way to go.
  5. There are a few Doctors in the US that are charging around 11,000 from what I understand from reading post on here. But I do not know of many are in the same price range of the Mexico Doctors. That could be one of the reasons you have not received very many responses. When I decided to go to Mexico most US Doctors were charging 12,000 to 30, 000. Near my home the US Doctors charge 15000.00 self-pays for the Lapband. I hope you find the answers you are looking for and good luck with your WL journey.
  6. Congrats on your surgery
  7. Congrats on getting your surgery. Our thoughts will be with you.
  8. Can't help with the Doctor, but wanted to welcome you and wish you all the luck in the world on your journey. It has really made a huge difference in my life. Like you, I just wish I would have done something like this years ago. Even at 51 it has given me my life back and I'm grabbing the bull by the horns. Keep us posted on your journey.
  9. Congrats on your weightloss. Great job.
  10. Congrats to all that will be there for surgery. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. I was really impressed with Dr. Aceves and his whole staff. Good Luck to all.
  11. I called in December for a Jan date and the only thing that slowed me down was getting my passport and loan money. They told me they could get me in earlier than I asked for. Good Luck
  12. Conrats on your upcoming surgery, our thoughts will be with you.
  13. I live in a small town and play in a local country band, so people have seen the weight fall off so quickly there was no way I could have told them anything but the truth. So far I have not heard of any bad comments being made about my WLS. I tell anyone that wants to know because I feel that the sleeve has worked great for me and is helping to save my life. I've had to explain VSG to them because most of them have heard about Lapband and other forms of WLS but not the sleeve. I've actually had more people make bad comments about me going to Mexico to have surgery than the surgery itself. Once I explain to them the reasons why I went to Mexico and the care I received there and the fact that I would go back again in a heartbeat, then comments stop or they don't say them to me. I have been surprized how well the story of my WLS goes over with people. Good Luck,
  14. Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  15. Send me a message with your shipping address and I will mail them to you. Keep what you want, throw away what you don't. Gary
  16. What are you looking for, I have a couple pair of slacks and possibly blue jeans. I have sizes 44 up to around 54. I also have shirts from 3X, 4X and 5X I also have shorts from about 44 to 54 in the waist. All are used except one of the larger shirts, its never been worn. Let me know.
  17. No way, :tongue_smilie: I thought a few times during the first two months about the fact that I cannot go and eat everything on the buffet, but that is what got me to 363 pounds in the first place. I learned the proper way to eat and too enjoy the taste of the food instead of the stuffing of it. Love the sleeve and love watching the weight go away. Good luck on your journey.
  18. Deedee, After reading your post, I too am sorry for what you and your husband are going through. That being said I cannot tell you how great it is to read that you guys are going to give a child with no parents, two loving parents. I spent 16 years in law enforcement and have seen to many times the results of parents who don't care what happens to their children. I understand that this is not the only reason people put children up, but it is one of them. It is great there are people like you and your husband that really want children there to give kids a chance. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
  19. When I went to the doctor for the first time after having surgery in Mexico I told them everything and they just coded everything so my insurance would cover it and they would also be covered. It was time for me to have a yearly physical anyway and I needed test done for that. They are doctors out there that will work with you. Good luck, Gary
  20. Julie, I only averaged 15 pounds a month after the first big loss and I had a lot of weight to lose. It will happen and it will off before you know it. Keep working the sleeve Gary
  21. Goodmorning, hope you are doing okay today. Gary
  22. I just had a little more pain and most of it could have been from the gas and bloated feeling. They will help you everyway they can with what ever meds you need. Just let the doctor or nurse know. I did not have any nausea.
  23. Congrats on getting a date.
