  1. Definitely get that Cup warmer from Walmart! I love my Mr. Coffee brand one. It is soooo nice to have warm soup 20 minutes after I start! I also drink Lactaid. The pills work too and they are so tiny. I have found that I can tolerate EAS brand shakes from walmart too. They come in a 4pk and are under $5.
  2. Thankfully I'm short and I have all boys, so the coverage was adequate But I now know how those kids with the super baggy pants must feel. Always having to pull them up... What a pain. It's kind of like step step step lift, step step step lift
  3. Last night I went to the mall with my family. I wore a size 16 jean. Yes, they are now baggy. As I was walking my underwear started to slide down. At first I was mortified. They would have hit the floor if not for the jeans! It was so embarrassing! My family flanked me so I could (as discreetly as possible) hook a finger around the hip and hold them until I found a restroom. If I ever was in doubt that the sleeve is not working just because I've stalled this week, I'm not anymore. Guess it's time to go down a size :smile1:
  4. I'm in the same boat. I don't like this boat. I want that other boat that everyone else seems to be riding in. Seriously though, I have lost 40lbs and I can still wear my same clothes. I understand they are baggy, but not MC Hammer pants baggy. Here's what I think is happening to me: I must have been REALLY stretching my clothes to the limit and now I am on the "low end" of wearing them. I truly believe that one day I will not be able to wear my clothes and then will be shocked to learn I dropped a few sizes without realizing it. Also, I am not losing it where I use to lose it. I'm 40 now and my tummy is holding on for dear live but my legs are almost skeletal. When I was younger I lost on a more even scale.
  5. Congratulations! You look FABULOUS!!!!
  6. I only told my hubby and kids. Some people tell everyone, and I might do that in a few years. This is why I didn't tell... I do not like Negative Nancys and I have been surprised in the past about who is actually a "closet" Nancy. When it comes to obesity, in my opinion, some people can be very judgmental and overly vocal. Which is hilarious when you really think about it (pot meet kettle). I also did not want the "waiting for the re-gain" syndrome to begin. This mainly applies to my Mom. So a few months ago I started telling people I was on a diet and cut out most carbs and sugar. About a month later I said I cut out soda too. I also told everyone I would measure my food and eat only what a normal amount should be. This led to conversations about America's portion size and how out of control it is. A few friends gave me advice on eating healthy, but cautioned against a low carb diet. I told them I am not cutting them out completely, just lowering them. After my surgery I obviously ate even less. I told people that once I adjusted to eating smaller portions and actually eating Breakfast as well, I learned to stop when I was full not stuffed. Bottom line is this is MY journey. The sleeve is a tool, it does not define me. Again, this is JMO. I support everyone who decides to or not to tell others... I just might scream,"I had the sleeve" from the rooftops in the future :smile1:
  7. Beautiful! I truly am happy for you!! Congratulations!
  8. OMG! I thought it was just me being too fat! I hear ya on the "hurts the ribcage". Plus, if I ever got the thing on I'd never be able to go to the bathroom ALL day! Whomever is in the stall next to me would think I'm wrestling alligators in the loo just trying to put the thing back on.
  9. Have Anthem email you the requirements then forward them to your Dr's office. They did that for me. My husband works for FedEx so we had low co-pays too
  10. That's awesome!!! Feels good to know your hard work is paying off
  11. I have Anthem of CA and had to use a center of excellence. Go to Anthems website and pull up the requirements just to be sure. Oh, they approved me in under 24 hours once everything was submitted.
  12. You look AMAZING!!! You go girl
  13. OMG! I am the complete opposite! I have not been able to wear my wedding ring in sooooo long. I'm talking 5 maybe 8 YEARS!!! I refused to re-size it since it was admitting to my true weight. I know... weird thinking. My first weight loss goal is not pounds, but to be able to wear my beautiful ring again! As for not losing it at the bakery. My old neighbor owned a bakery and she wore it on a gold chain at work. She later switched to an oversized military type chain. She said she had a hard time with the little clasp on the gold one.
  14. Go to the ER ASAP! I was just over 2 weeks out and felt like poop. No energy, just felt wrong, stomach pain, nausea and couldn't drink protein at all. Dr admitted me and it took 2 IV bags before I was able to give any urine...I was that dehydrated. It happened so fast. One day I was all smiles and sunshine, the next I was so tired and just not feeling right. I wound up getting my gallbladder out! Now I am sore from 2 surgeries in such a short time. I hope you are OK
  15. Thank you everyone! The support on this forum is AWESOME!! I have been around the same people everyday, so it probably is hard for them to notice the change. I guess in my mind I've been working on this for months and even though I know it is working, I just needed some outside support. My family is very supportive, but they are all males and we all know how they avoid the weight topic like the plague So pity party over! I'm on the right path and my Christmas card this year will ROCK!!
  16. I was sleeved 09/19 and am down 29.8 pounds.....but nobody can see a difference but me. So it got me wondering..how much weight do I have to lose before people notice? I'm almost 5'2" and I weighed in at 220.8 on 08/26. On my surgery date I was 211.2. Today I am 191. I'm happy about the loss, but having ANYONE notice would be nice.
  17. It took about 20 minutes. Thanks Phillygirl - I was about to throw them out. Those containers are HUGE and I would love to have my cabinet space back, lol.
  18. Thanks Fern! I do measure my meals but seem to be able to drink Water like no tomorrow. Not that I'm complaining, it just seems everyone has a hard time getting enough water and I (thankfully) don't. I was a little worried.
  19. Thanks! I feel better knowing I'm not the only one. I spent a small fortune testing out Protein Shakes before surgery and now I can't even stand the smell. I start pureed foods on Monday, so I hope that makes a difference
  20. Last night I was able to finish the entire 10 3/4 oz size of creamy chicken soup.WTH! I can drink and drink and drink as well. I have not thrown up or anything. I am only 11 days out!! I can't tolerate my protein drinks either. They make me gag. Is this common?
  21. Even though I'm just 11 days out, I have not thrown up either. I feel restriction/full at times and I have felt that heavy feeling. I am worried about the vomiting. My question is: Does it happen so suddenly that you can't make it to the bathroom or do you get a sign or two? I would hate to be out with the family and ruin dinner.
  22. Try light Silk Soymilk with a scoop of Syntrax nectar protein. The milk comes in choc and vanilla and the nectar comes in a variety of flavors. I get mine from the vitamin shoppe. The nectar can be made with water as well. Good luck
  23. I'm sorry to hear your sisters were not as supportive as you needed. That being said....My hubby is the second youngest in a a family of 7. I will never forget the first time I met his siblings. One of them actually told me,"Oh, you don't ask him if he can be/do something, you just TELL him".
