  1. My boys said they hope I don't "zombie out" and randomly start eating. They did offer to find me a Hannibal Lecter mask, if needed. Teenagers!
  2. Welcome! My surgery date is the 19th too!!! Awesome job on the weight loss
  3. Today is my second day too and I am EXHAUSTED! I thought it was due to the EGD I had yesterday and the "happy juice" they gave me in the hospital. I've already taken a nap and want to go back to bed and it's only 1pm! I hope this gets better.
  4. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do the full 2 week diet because I am low BMI, but no luck. I started it yesterday It's going to be a looooong time until the 19th!
  5. I'm just under 5'2". I started my milk diet today. I'm already starving. I bought tons of microwaveable dinners from Costco so my boys can cook for themselves. This is going to be a very long 2 weeks.
  6. Congrats!!! You are on your way
  7. Sounds like this should be the 5'2" thread, lol! If I stand really really really straight I might make that height.
  8. Look at you! You look amazing!!
  9. WOW!! Amazing results!! You look GREAT!!!!!! Way to go!!
  10. Hi Kara-ann! I'm in WA too but my surgery isn't until the 19th. You will do GREAT! If you don't mind me asking, which Dr. are you using?
  11. That's wonderful news! Such an inspiration!! I can relate on the meds. Just thinking of how much I will save on co-pays monthly makes me smile. Of course I will probably spend it all on clothes
  12. Thank you! I'm still so nervous but excited too
  13. Congrats!!! We have the same surgery date!! Keep us posted
  14. I figured it was about time for me to stop lurking and just post already! So here it goes: I've been overweight for so long now... It just crept up on me. It started in my 20's and increased with each pregnancy. Now my babies are in high school and college and it's "my time". I've really been on the fence in regards to WLS but finally decided enough was enough. Enough CPAP, enough getting winded going up stairs (or even a slight incline), enough knee pain, enough hiding from pictures, enough having so many medicine bottles on my nightstand that it looks like a mini pharmacy, enough enough enough!! So I am on my journey to find healthy me again. I attended the seminar in late June of this year. Returned my packet a week later. Did my nutrition class, physical, labs, psych, EKG, physical activity class all in July. Had to wait for my psych eval to come back, then had my surgeon appt last week. Everything was sent to insurance this Monday, late afternoon. Dr.'s office called me Tuesday afternoon to say I was approved!!!!!! I have to have an EGD early next week because I have a high H. Pylori count (prevpac here I come). I also start the dreaded milk diet at the same time. Then I have a pre-op the following week and surgery is scheduled for Sept 19th. It feels like it has taken FOREVER but it is really going by pretty darn fast
