  1. Happy 46th Birthday Dani-G!

  2. I am glad to see things are working out for you all. My asthma/primary care physician does not want any revision surgery done for me. He feel I am really stressed and this is my main source of reason for lack of continued weight loss, not non compliance or lapband failure. I am on generic Xanaz & generic Zoloft for depression - mostly financial. He made his desicion based on the facts that I had initial success and I am not having any band complication physically. I do alot of Pbing and know the band is fitted. Just sucks a bit. He feels I will do just fine with the band once I feel better mentally. I understand and can't really argue his points. I see my bariatric physician on June 4 and will see if he concurs. I continue to see my psychologist & dietian on a rregular basis. Success to you all! Enjoy your lives & well being! Aloha, Dani

  4. Almost a year post surgery, went from 170lbs til 10/11. Have gained weight since and gone up and down between a high of 192 down to 185. Have not been able to eat lots of foods including chicken, tofu, eggs. Throw up often. I had only 1 fill and was recommedned not to get another fill because I pb too much. I am very fustrated and disappointed both with myself and in general. My pshycologist & nutritionists are now discussing revision surgery for me. They are suggesting band remova...

Thank you everyone - I was starting to freak a bit. I am just about exactly 2 months post op and have been PBing and sliming for 2 days now. It is random. Some food is fine then all of a sudden - pain - no more. I felt like I had heartburn. This may sound ridiculous but I wanted the food out so bad a few minutes ago I found that crouching on all fours and lowering my head helped bring it up so I could hurl, kinda like a ddownward dog yoga position. Totally worked. No heaving. Some came up my nose and burned though. This is such a lovely conversation. I am just glad I am not alone and it is fairly normal, which I figured - I just have managed to avoid this until the last two days. Got to slow down and chew, chew, chew. First time was a bit of banana bread, tonight it was a bit of corn bread. I'm done with both of those foods. No more bread. Thought I was getting brave and could eat whatever as long as I chewed it up - NOT! I've managed to get 55 lbs off - 30 pre sx and 25 more since 6/29. Pretty happy for the most part. I hate throwing up and got to get this under control. Too gross. Not to mention painful. So glad to have this forum to communicate this you all.
  6. Two months out and starting to hurl after eating. Not liking this. Ttrying to eat as slow as possible. This sucks! Any suggestions, besides not eating.

    1st Lap Band Fill Yesterday!

Glad it went well. I have my 1st month check up tomorrow and have my first fill scheduled for Monday. I am nervous about the fill. I am able to get down quite a bit of pureed food and I can drink a lot of water now so I know I do need the fill. Did it hurt?
  10. One month check up tomorrow.

  11. Went to my asthma doc this afternoon. Yes, I am wheezing but I am ok. No pneunonia or brochitis. Normal temp, normal blood pressure, oxygen level is 98. Since stress can be the biggest trigger of asthma - this is what my body is doing. I already take a ton of medications so if I didn't I'd be way worse. My doc added Xanax to my list of meds to help me relax. I will need to stay home and relax til at least the 15th of the month. I see my surgeon thursday and recheck with my asthma doc after that before I can go back to work. So basically this ordeal has stressed me out mentally and physically and my body is reacting to it all. OK. I am ok. Slow down and relax. I went for a short visit to the beach and took in some fresh ocean air and felt the sand between my toes. Always makes me happy. Thank you for your responses.
  12. Hi - I had my lapband surgery with a hiatal hernia repair on 6/29. Have been fairly uncomfortable but getting better everyday until last night. I am seeing my asthma doctor this afternoon since we had a long weekend holiday. It seems like my asthma and chest tightening are getting increasingly worse. I am talking all my meds required along with pain meds, drinking fluids, resting but seems to be getting harder to breath. I can hear deep wheezing if I take a deep breath otherwise - I don't hear it like I would before surgery. I was thinking it is just a usual condition for a severe asthmatic post any surgery. This is my first surgery of any kind. I was given on of those Airlife breathing exercise things to breath from to check my lungs and before surgery I could get the darn thing maxed out easily, now I can barely get it over the half way point. I am scared I have a collapsed lung or walking Pneumonia or something like that. Anyone have anything like this happen after thier surgery? Thank you.
  13. Woke up from shoulder pain, took meds, starting to kick in - going back to sleep.

  14. I am going on to post op day 5 today. I have asthma and some other medical issue and am quite a few meds. Since the second day post op I have been cutting up my meds with a pill cutter and taking them very slowly. I have been cutting them up pretty tiny but not crushed. I would gag with the crushed taste for sure. I was on clear liquids only for 2 days post so on day 3 I threw all my 'chewable' vit and meds into my blender with my protein shake. The first time I had the finely cut pills if I rushed I could feel heartburn so go tiny and slowly. Hope this helps you. Good luck, feel better.
  15. Hi - I was banded on 6/29 and had a hiatal hernai repair done also. The pain was more than I thought but mostly from the additional surgery not the banding. It is tolerable and just have to work through it knowing you'll be better soon. Good luck. Be positive. Listen to your body.
