  5. angry Our secret, don't tell anyone... will be 60 years YOUNG next month age has alot to do with how your skin "shapes/tightens" up after you've lost weight first thing i noticed was my rear end was/is gone, no kidding!!! but it was so big before, i don't/didn't mind the drastic change my skin did tighten/firm up about one year PO, goal if you are a youngun' or so, skin will/should firm up better i would rather have some lose skin that is hidden with clothes - than be fat, fat, and fat!!!! 50 lbs down, terrific !!!!! good luck kathy congrats
  6. BerryChic Branmuffin gave good suggestions you could also bring a "Branmuffin" Protein bars too in an emergency - (i go overboard cuz they taste so good, gotta be careful) i have a small blue insulated "lunch bag" that i usually leave the house with i'll have 2 1/2 frozen bottles of Water, or 1 bottle with a yummy greek lite and fit yogurt standing in line, thinking about food?!!!! Get over it i can see the determination and strength that you have in your pretty eyes all that walking - i don't have to tell you how great that is, so i won't 7 weeks PO - you can and will be successful!!! have a wonderful trip tell your daughter i said hi good luck kathy

  10. doctor told me that I am going to fail i can't get over that your doc said those discouraging/nasty words!!! what a jerk you can't change him - but you will continue to change!!!! 58 lbs in six months!!!! you are doing great, really!!!! i always "heard" that losing about 10 lbs per month is average/terrific some people lose more - some lose less Never, ever compare your weight loss to anyone elses people have been shot for less i know you will be another success story i know it!!!!! I see the determination in your eyes you are definitely NOT a failure!!!! you made the wise decision to comit yourself to having major stomach surgery i know you are continueing to eat and drink properly old habits die hard don't defeat the weight loss, by being sad - and then eating to comfort yourself!!!! stalls are a bitchhh - but many/most/all of us have them take care hun I will succeed, I will succeed, i will succeed keep saying that whenever you have any doubts congrats on your 58 lb weight loss woohoo good luck huggggggs kathy
  11. actingnurse hey dude i remember you nice to see your handsome, smiling face again 116 lbs down!!!! no wonder I have been seeing "less and less" of you keep up the fantastic job kathy

  13. Can You Be Fat And Healthy No way!!!!! silly/stupid question that "brilliant" people need to discuss/have a survey to come to the only obvious conclusion!!! Isn't obesity finally recognized as a "disease"??? fit, trim, healthy and extremely happy grammy Kathy
  14. Ashley WooHoo 2 days down you are sounding great yes pre-op liquids can be hard - but it will be over before you know it I've got my eyes on you!!! doc likes to see you can follow rules now - to prove that you can be successful and complient FOREVER!!! then comes the wonderful surgery remember, a "few" aches and pains frequently occur - but...........things usually turn out well you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life good luck speedy recovery kathy
  15. Ashley "they" say the pre op liquid diet can be extremely hard, taxing my doc didn't require it, so i was "lucky"??? you "probably" know the reason doc wants you to lose weight pre WLS, it helps shrink the liver, making the procedure easier losing a few lbs now means you don't have to lose them after the fact anxious, scared, nervous???? all very common emotions many/most/all pre sleevers et al experience long term effects are wonderful - no more diabetes, high blood pressure, cpap all gone!!!! how great is that!!!! anything that made me calmer pre op??? NO!!!! LOL calmer - just the excitement that i know i'm beginning my new healthier, happier, longer life 99.9999% I believe that #is close, have minor/no complication - hopefully, like myself, you will have no problems it is good your head is not in the sand, and you are aware that things can go wrong don't second guess your wise decision on having the WLS - you sound very happy about having the procedure Failure???? not an option!!! follow alllll the rules no drinking with meals drink at least 64 oz of Water don't drink for about an hour after you eat eat and chew slowly and thorougly!!!! eat dense Protein first veggies always measure your food good idea to keep track of each bite you put in your mouth by using MyFitnessPal or something else that you can count calories/protein/carbs et al sticking to the above plus more you will lose the weight!!!!! i have complete confidence in you i can see you are a smart "cookie" take care good luck speedy recovery kathy

  18. tjlove23 i had to ask my doc about eating prior to WLS didn't make me lose weight (phew....) just said "don't gain any weight!!! but....i wish i had put myself on liquids for at least a couple of days pre WLS instead of me going on a couple of funeral meals comment you hear on the board is "the one thing we all have in common, is that we're all different!!) ask your doc - and he will/should answer all your question "we're" all here to give advice, thoughts "words of wisdom" keep coming to the board with your questions, and read other questions that may be things you are also wondering about!!!! but.........your doc has the final "educated" words you should listen to sounds" like the big day is aproaching!!!! good luck speedy recovery kathy

Oregondaisy ahhhhhh - GOAL better the 2nd time around??? nice to see your cute self again - you are so small i almost missed you!!!!! the goal room has not been the same in your absence - now we can start to breathe again!!! i don't think newbies et al can ever be reminded too often, that regain can and DOES happen you must continue to follow the rules, new lifestyle you learned, for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life you might be able to be a little more lax sometimes on this or that but the basics, Protein, Water, water, and water - will always apply!!!!! chips/cookies/ice cream/candy...........et al (oh no i'm drooling ) these things were put on earth to test us foodaholics, and to just drive us/me crazy!!!! egads!!!! i always will have to watch out for demons like those but oh well..............
