  1. Glad to hear that. I feel the same way. I just started back on real food and even without restriction I am losing weight. I think because I have gone through all the initial work, it is a constant reminder that I need to work with it and I do. Here's to success!
  2. I had 10 days full liquids, but when i saw my doctor after 8 days, she gave me the go ahead to move to mushies. But i was healing very well, did not have a hernia or any other complications. It was then mushies for 10 days. I am now on soft foods.
  3. Are you on clear liquids or full liquids? For full liquids I put cream of mushroom soup (the good kind, not condensed) in the blender to puree the mushrooms. Then I cooked it with some added broth. It was yummy. Also try mixing a couple spoons of smooth salsa into V-8 and heating it.
  4. Congratulations. My best tip is to follow your Dr's instructions. The pre-op and post op restrictions are prescribed for a reason. I like Muscle Milk light protein powder. The latte and strawberry flavors.
  5. Look in your area for a welfare to work program where they train women previously on welfare for the workforce. Most are single mothers and they cannot afford "office" clothing. These programs usually outfit their graduates for interviews and going back to work. It is a worthy cause. I had a whole drawer of tights and pantyhose still in the packages that I recently donated.
  6. Larry - The "Turkey" chart is very cute. However, my goal weight and current weight are reversed! My goal is to lose weight, not gain it! LOL. Thanks, Joyce
  7. Protein shakes will help keep you from getting too hungry. Experiment with them. For example, I bought pie spice extract and mixed it with the Muscle Milk light latte powder for a cappachino like drink. I also blended in some LF peanut butter for a creamy drink.
  8. You can Google Living Will. It is a simple one page document that states your desire as far as life support s/anything go wrong and it names a executor of your wishes. It needs to be signed by 2 witnesses. In NYC it did not need to be notorized. I almost did not do it, but I did it at the last moment and brought it with me to the hospital because I realized I did not want to burden my husband s/anything go wrong.
  9. had the hiccups constantly after the surgery. I am on week 3 now and they are much less frequent. When they were bad, I sucked on a small lemon drop. I have never been able to feel my band. I can feel my port sometimes, especially when I first wake up in the morning. Just know it all gets better.
  10. Congratulations! Now you can join us on the October post surgery post. BTW. I had some probiatic yogurt to get the things moving again about 4 days after surgery. One was all it took.
  11. That's wonderful news. May you have many, many more such validations. Best of luck on your surgery.

  13. Fat free refried beans with some salsa and FF sour cream. Mashed cauliflower. Mashed avocado mixed with a hard boiled egg. Cottage cheese. Layered riccota cheese with pasta sauce and some parmasian melted in the microwave. (lasagna w/out the noodles or meat) Cream of wheat with pureed berries.
  14. I lke Muscle Milk Light Latte flavored. It is very versatile. Adding a bit of chocolate powder makes it a mocha latte, a frozen banana turns it into a great shake and pumpkin spice makes it taste like a popular coffee drink.
  15. I've been spending a lot of time playing video games to keep my hands busy and my mouth empty.
  16. Best wishes for a painfree and speedy recovery.
  17. Hi. I was banded on Oct 20 and I am doing very well. Pain and gas almost obliterated. I never had much gas to begin with but I had hiccups almost constantly in the beginning. I am on mushies now. I've lost 18 lbs so far. I'm looking forward to reaching 20 lbs so I can buy a charm for my Pandora bracelet. I am using the bracelet to mark each 20 lbs I loose. My advice to you is continue drinking your Protein as soon as you can. It really keeps you full and helps the healing.
  18. Start drinking your protein again as soon as you can. And keep drinking it even when you move away from just liquids. It helps to keep you full and helps with the healing.
  19. Wishing you an early happy birthday and many, many more!
  20. Thanks for the lovely post. I am reluctant to talk about it to people outside my small circle. But you have made me see the other side of the equation.
  21. :Banane08: Rock on! :Banane10:
