  1. I am 9th day post operative, I do felt hunger and was thinking about food first 2-3 days after surgery then it subsides 100%, I don't feel hungry at all. I hope this shall last forever. good luck to you too.
  2. hi all, my doctor advised me to stay away from protein shakes first month. I can see all people here take protein shakes or isopure. when should I incorporate them in my diet. is it during the puree soft food stage. I think we have to take them temporarily until we are able to get our proteins from regular solid food. also I am lost in so many flavours? which one is the best? chocolate? banana? caramel? cappuccino? waiting for your replies love you all.
  3. really, RNY later can eat 6 slices of pizza?? I thought it is the most successful operation regarding weight loss results but I was afraid to do it because of the intestinal work involved.
  4. wow, I am so proud of all of you. congratulationsss u all. I am size 22. my goal weight is 145 lbs. this is my dream. I think I can wear size 12 if I reached my goal weight. Now I am 230 which means I need to lose abut 80-90 pounds. sounds like a very far away goal. carolyn: I agree with you. your expectations are very reasonable. 10 lbs a month is great....10 x 8 = 80 pounds which means I can reach my goal weight in less than a year!!!! is this even possible???? Best wishes to all of you. keep the good work up.
  5. can someone enlight me for signs of a leak? and for how long after operation I am supposed to be at risk of leak?? thx
  6. I wish you a speedy recovery. you are in my prayers and thoughts. best wishes.
  7. can u share with me old sleevers how much lbs you lost in your first month? thanks. can't wait to see myself size12-14!!! I am 22 at the moment.
  8. 10 lbs is great achievement , way to go, don't worry much about the scale, just stick to the plan. I am still on liquid diet too. it is getting easier day by day I have to say. hang in there. you are not alone!
  9. southernlawyer: water is my favorite but I agree with you that you need to take it slow...small sips..if i take a big gulp like I used to before the surgery, it hurts. otherwise, water is the best. don't give up plz, water is so important for our body. just sip sip sip.
  10. i am 6th day post operative I am on clear liquid diet. yesterday I took one small tea spoon full of honey. it tasted soooooo goood. what do u think? does high sugar stuff tend to impair the healing process? plz let me know if it is a correct or wrong what I did? I had all night epigastric pain after this spoon of honey. thanks
  11. I am almost one week post operative too. sure the drain site is hurting the most. it is getting better though. hang on plz. it is just a wound. it just time to heal. soon it will be nothing. best wishes.
  12. thanks so much for posting this. Best of luck
  13. congratulations for the surgery. you know I just expected pain, vomiting and more time in bed in the recovery period which is not the case. I am fine! and I take in my fluids easily. I can take up to one cup or 3/4th. I was fighting head hunger first 3 days. Now it disappeared. I am not hungry. the drain port still hurts me. I agree with you. it is getting better. you know my concern is what will stop me from eating in the future if there is no pain experienced?? now I am putting myself under control cuz my stomach has been traumatized severely and I must take extreme caution to help my wounds to heal. may be it will be different for solid foods. I am also glad we are going through this at the same time. best of luck to you. the worest part by my side was in the recovery room. I could not take in my breath easily and I wanted to vomit so much ...sequelae of anesthesia I guess but this disappeared by the end of the first day post operative.
  14. thanks all for your kind words. I am fine. is it normal to be able to drink one cup of soup quickly?
  15. Dear all, I got finally sleeved on 29/10/2009. everything went fine so far and as expected. the worest part of it was in the recovery room and as soon as I get to my room, they got me under control with medication. I am very thankful to my dr. so far. I am trying to get in my fluids. I don't want to get dehydrated for sure. it is ok. I have headache every now and then but again controlled by medication. watery diarrhea which was expected from what I read from your valuable informative posts. I did gastrographin meal and they said it is fine and no leak could be detected thank god which is our major concern. my laparoscopy ports are fine except for some soreness felt over the drain port which is tolerable sure. I have no problems getting in my fluids. I feel this gurgling after I drink my water only. I LOVE SOUP. my doctor wants me to stay on liquid diet for one month and he did not insist on protein shakes at all at this stage. he told me our main goal is to keep u hydrated and make you lose the most. I still have head hunger. I still imagine myself ordering a Big Mac but no way I will sabotage my surgery as I already feel a bit guilty about my decision as regards having just to throw a part of you. they gave me my stomack in a jar. I kinda little grieve these days when I really really enjoyed my meals. I hope in the future I will be able to enjoy my small delicious meals without problem. I read many of you having this intolerance to solid foods when you get to this stage. is it true for everybody?? is it just a stage and it will get better by time?
  16. I adore this site too. I am planning to have my surgery as soon as possible. I am scared to death. I really got such a low pain threshold and I do panic. May God Help me. I feel more comfortable when I think that I have such wonderful friends to talk to like you. best wishes for all of you.
